Expensive oh expensive…read more I want to start this review by saying that everyone there was very nice and kind--that is not the issue. The issue is how expensive the service was. My vehicle is a 2015 Toyota Corolla. I left it at the shop on a Saturday because the check engine light had come on. In hindsight, I should have asked about the diagnostic fee beforehand. I didn't have an appointment; I simply dropped off the car and left the keys. Again, everyone at the shop was very friendly and professional. After dropping off the car at 8:15 a.m., I called around 12:45 p.m. and was told they had been trying to contact me. In the end, they quoted me approximately $1,400 for a complete gas canister replacement and fuel induction service. When I tried to negotiate the price, they lowered it to about $1,350, but the parts had to be ordered and the repair would not be completed until Monday. The diagnostic fee came to $258.35 if paid in cash. If you pay with a debit or credit card, there is an additional 3% charge. I wish I had known about the diagnostic fee beforehand because it felt like a punch in the gut. I earned less than $800 that week, so every dollar matters in my budget. I paid the fee, but unfortunately, I would not return. I simply cannot afford their prices

Tire Kingdom looked at it and said they don't want to touch it and there's nothing they can do to fix it as it's Jiffy Lube's responsibility. So now I'm sitting here with a car that is not operable and both shops don't know how to fix it, however, both said I should go to Japanese Auto Care to get it fixed. I came to Japanese Auto Care early Monday morning, fully expecting them to tell me to take it to a Mazda dealership or that they would be too busy to take me. To my pleasant surprise, that was not the case at all. Jimmy immediately said he would be able to get it taken care of and get me up and running same day. Jimmy called around to make sure that someone was able to provide the studs that were specific to my car, and kept me updated along the way. More importantly, while I sat there waiting for my car to be done (in a very clean and comfortable waiting room might I add), lots and lots of people filtered in and out, either picking up or dropping off, speaking to Jimmy as if they were family, considering they have been coming here for so long. Jimmy answered every single phone call that came through no matter how busy he was, and had such a kind and professional demeanor with each individual person he spoke to. Within a few hours I was finally headed home, thanks to Jimmy and team. They were able to do what other "popular" and corporate auto body shops couldn't. I know one thing that I have struggled with for the 11 years I've had my car, is finding a trustworthy, dependable mechanic, and I think I have finally found the one.

I came to Jimmy at Japanese Auto Care, and it turns out I didn't even need all those other repairs quoted by the other place. Jimmy took care of what needed fixing and the car has been running smoothly, like new, ever since. Recently, I brought the car in for a tune up, oil change, tire check and rotation, etc. Great service, as usual. This is a long standing, family run business that provides excellent service for a very fair price. Jimmy is a gem, he is kind, caring, compassionate and honest. This is the only auto care service center I'll ever use. They are the best.

AAA batteries have a great warranty which is a must in South Florida. Expect 50% of the normal life expectancy in this climate. I saved $25 as a AAA member. I called to have someone check and replace it while at home since the tow trucks take a long time to come to you and I didn't want to get stuck somewhere and have to wait for them . However, when he came he sprayed something on it to clean it and confirmed it wasn't good but now the terminals are rusted. He said he couldn't change it because I didn't have a receipt. I purchased the car from a friend but they didn't have the receipt. I had to call AAA again to advise what occurred. The representative said I would need to go to a AAA authorized dealer. I was given one near me which was this one. I phoned the place early and asked if they had batteries for my car. They said yes but had to wait for a delivery and would be an hour.i decided to wait at home and then go 2 hours later. I waited for a bit and inquired why taking so long for a battery . He had someone look at my car and I waited then the mechanic told me they didn't have a battery and needed to wait for one half hour. That was the reason I called ahead of time to confirm. I finally got the battery and only paid the waste fee but all of this of course could r been from home or earlier at this authorized dealer since it was already noted in the system and by my self. The place had a cute phone charger as a battery and it course the name went along as a theme with decor which was cute. They are not open in the weekends per the sign. Pretty easy to find with the location conveniently located for customers in the Boca area .

Although he did come several hours late, giving me this sob story about taking care of his mother and feeding his dogs as to why he was so late. I was still willing to give him some grace because he did complete the job correctly. After I got my first service with him, he told me to call if anything happened and that he will come help me. My battery ended up going dead several times after he put in my new starter. I tried to call him, but he never would answer the phone. Then when he finally responded, it would always be several hours later into the night with some type of excuse. Go figure !! It wasn't a big deal, but then I needed another service about three months later, so I tried to use him again. Everything seemed like it was gonna workout, but lo and behold, he never showed up.... I text him several times and he would always text back and say that he was coming, but then he would never show up. He left me waiting two days in a row without coming, and then he would do his usual text back towards midnight ( which was kinda weird ) saying that he was busy.. I mean, if you can't do a job then just let the customer know upfront. That way I can go and look elsewhere. Which I finally did. Either way, I was really feeling sorry for him when he told me the story about him getting fired from BMW because he took some days off to take care of his father , but now I'm really starting not to believe that. He is just very unreliable and almost comes off like he may have some substance abuse issues. If you do use his service, just proceed with caution.
