I trusted him and left the car and he fixed it that day and at an inexpensive price and I was very happy. There was a shop next door that many confused with DR and it had a bad reputation and the owners name was Rob. How confusing was that, I almost went there. But found Bob and was very happy I did. agoNEW Critical: Professionalism I was amazed how I was treated when I drove in just asking them for an appointment. I went into the office and told the person, who I assume was one of the owners that I was having a problem with my convertible top on my Jaguar. My goal was to make an appointment to bring the car back so I could get a Lyft there. Before I had a chance to ask for an appointment, he asked me if I was prepared to leave the car there today, which I was not. His words to me were "have a nice day". I was so amazed and speechless at his cavalier attitude, which basically told me that there was something about me that he didn't like. He just smiled and laughed in a way that he must've felt satisfaction to basically tell me to get lost.I came in all smiles and nice and asked a simple question, then got bombarded. Incidentally, when I left I drove to another mechanic that I use, and he fixed the top in about five minutes and refused to take money from me. I recently purchased a "fun" car , 2005 SL 500 from a dealer in Delray. Prior to purchase I had Bob at DandR inspect the car. I was truly pleased with his thoroughness and great attitude, not to mention a pretty clean bill of health on the car. 2 weeks into ownership, the dash lit up with various readings in bold red that I had a battery or alternator issue. With no appointment set up, I drove over this morning and by 2 pm had a complete diagnosis and repair of the alternator which apparently just crapped out on me. Bob has to be the most jovial mechanic I have ever met! Even though it is the holiday season I have a feeling he is this way every day and it was so refreshing to receive expedient, kind, and jovial service. I had an AC issue and they were very efficient, quick, and extremely fair in their pricing and repair! This shop was recommended from another recommended shop (John at Boynton Auto Air) which was too busy at the time to service my vehicle. Easy to find behind the Walmart! They provide cool water in the waiting area and the cutest tiny dog was laid back and walking around. My Maserati computer said it needed two pistons and Rob felt only one was needed, he could have ripped me off and told me to buy two at 800 a pop but he said he would suggest just one for now! I would not have known if it needed Four! Let alone two or one! Great to see an honest mechanic that treats clients with respect so they come back. This guy is nothing but a ripoff artist. Stay away! Brought car in to get oil leak fixed, alternator, reservoir replaced. 3478.00 was the total! Called days later that I noticed oil and got "that is fabulous, just what we want to hear" are you serious Rob with your goofy laugh? Had an electricial issue just now and guess what? This establishment is what great service is all about. We came from the motor city where repair shops are everywhere and have to be good to stay in business. Not the case in southern Florida, too many repair shops with people that have not had proper training. We have 4 vehicles and they all require service to maintain reliability and safety, Bob makes sure that is the case. His knowledge is vast and he is very friendly to deal with.
