I asked if he had experience with Lexus models (the car I specifically wanted inspected was the 2005 Lexus LS 430) and he did, sharing his knowledge. He did a great job with all the details he went through giving an honest assessment of the potential issues which were mostly minimal. He went the extra mile answering all my questions and the price they gave was incredible value for $80. After coming several days later to Wixom to the purchase the car from the private seller, I reached out to Al and the team same day to see if they could squeeze me in for a quick once over before my long drive back to New York City and they did that same afternoon. This was extremely important because I was pressed on time and had to leave Michigan early the next morning. John one of the mechanics there greeted me and was super friendly showing great enthusiasm to looking at my new car. We spoke for quite a bit and he took a look at the engine and addressed all the concerns. He even offered to take a look for the oil leak potential issue that popped up during the pre purchase inspection to see if it had subsided or needed to be addressed. These mechanics at this business are passionate hard working professionals that will take care of you and make you feel like you made the best choice in picking them for your car concerns. I had a…read moredifferent shop tell me I had a bad head gasket and to get a new engine, which would cost $1,500. I asked the mechanic multiple times if he had run a combustion test, and he always managed to avoid answering. Decided to take it to Downtown instead, and they were incredibly communicative. Never did anything without telling me first, ran multiple tests. Every test came back negative. They didn't know what was wrong with my car, but they knew it wasn't the head gasket. It took a long time, but they finally figured out the problem- I had a faulty sensor which would turn the fans off every so often, which is why my car was overheating. The only time they did something without asking me first, was running another combustion test. And since they didn't ask, they didn't charge. I think that's totally fair. I'm willing to pay extra money on a shop that is honest and does what they say they'll do, and doesn't try to screw me out of $1,500 when it should only cost $150.

On the third day they called me to say they "checked all my work" and confirmed that wasn't the issue so they replaced the fuel injector... but the check engine light was still on. They said they weren't engine experts and recommended I take it to a Ford dealership (or some other place they knows engines). Since I asked them to change my oil when I dropped it off, they did that (too). After all that.... They charged me over $800!!!!!!! My advice stay clear of this place. What they did is criminal to charge me that much to not even fix the issue.

Reading other reviews I see I'm not the only one that they were dishonest by trying to sell me services that were not needed. When confronted the story changed to preventative maintenance. When dropping the car off I went threw it making sure nothing valuable was left behind. I had $8.00 in a makeup bag in the console. I left it thinking no one is going to touch that and it's only $8.00. I was wrong. The money was gone.
