My husband and I were in the process of looking for a Chevy Suburban whn my husband called and spoke with Darrell Gough at the dealership and set up an appointment to see what they had in stock. Later that same afternoon I arrived at the dealership and saw that the vehicle was sitting at the curb waiting for me to take a look and possibly test drive it. I was undecided and left for thw evening to think about it. It was not thw exact vehicle i wanted but I was considering it along with 2 other ones Darrell had shown me. I decided to keep looking and I went back to Darrell and informed him that I was still interest but wanted to see if I could find the one I really wanted. He was fine with that. Well, long story short I fould one at another dealership and purchased that one. Darrell recently emailed me and asked if I was still in the market for a vehicle. I informed him via email that I found what I was looking for and thanked him for his time. I have since told friends and family how great Darrell and the rest of the staff was. The Team at Autonation wasted a few days shy of a month in the purchase of my vehicle, after we we have agreed on terms. I spoke with the General Manager as I was getting the run around and want to get clarification or just the truth but he ensued that they was being straight forward with me ringing me along and wasting not only my time since they had both set of keys to my vehicle but money as I had to Uber a few times to "close the deal." I promise you I will let all the service members that I work with and just in random conversations with car enthusiast or just anyone thinking of heading that way to stay clear. The staff needs to be retrained of the on the value of customers time and money and not to just sell cars. They are clearly not a go at this station and will be looking to talk to their cooperate as this amount of time wasted was just plain uncalled for and not fair to me as a customer. read more

Over the past week, I went to this dealership three times looking for a new or gently used Silverado. During our first visit the salesman left us repeatedly to help other customers that were buying more expensive vehicles. We showed up a second time to look at a sale price of a new Silverado; however, when we sat down to negotiate a price, we were told we did not meet the terms for the sale. Thus, the price was actually $3,000 more than the advertised price. We received emails from the manager and called to negotiate a price with a trade-in. The manager agreed to a price over the phone for the truck we wanted to purchase during the second visit. The salesman scheduled an appointment for two hours later to sign the paperwork for the truck. Yet, when I showed up the third time to "sign the paperwork" the manager said the deal would not work for him and wanted to raise the agreed upon price by an additional $1500. Worst place ever to buy a car. We stopped to look at cars in December and found a couple that we were interested in. I had my eyes on a Jeep Wrangler but they refused to budge 1000 to help fit into my budget so I had to chose something else. I saw this 2011 Buick Enclave that was Certified Pre-Owned. It had high miles on it but I figured if they said it's certified then everything should be good. Well within a couple days it started making a clunking sound whenever slowing down and then accelerating. I knew we were under the 60 Day warranty so I was going to have it checked out. The fuel gauge also stopped workingg. Forward to 53 days later, my husband was driving to DC for work at 6am and the car died on him. Would not start, completely locked up. We had it towed to Autonation. They told us the fuel pump was bad and it had to be replaced. Then we were told it was the lower fuel pump that needed replaced and they have to take the gas tank off to replace it. So more waiting. They are horrible at following up with you. I called a week later and now something else was wrong and the timing was off and they had to have someone from GM come look at it. 1 week later, no word. I called back. Now the extended warranty people had to be involved. Autonation decided to just put in a replacement engine and they were going back and forth with warranty people about who was going to cover the cost. Finally on April 17th I got my vehicle back. They had my car for 2 1/2 months!! I asked if I could have some type of extended warranty since I was nervous about what other issues this vehicle might have. We are military and move every 3 years and I dont want a defective vehicle. I was told that they couldnt offer me one. 2 weeks ago Car is still making a thunking sound. Took it to my mechanic to get an oil change and I explained that the engine was just replaced. He showed me car up on lift and transmission fluid is leaking from the transfer case. This should have been an easy fix when they had to take the engine out but instead they cut corners and didn't replace the seal. I took it over to them to look at and they couldn't see a leak. This week I get a new copy of the carfax report. It turns out my vehicle was in an accident on 9-1-16 with front end damage. My report from 12-1-16 does not show this. I take vehicle back to my mechanic today today and they put it back on lift and it is still leaking transmission fluid, and now power steering fluid is leaking on the rack and pinion. Also the engine mounts are bad and the entire engine shifts. This is the thunking sound. I found the Maryland vehicle Inspection Report from prior to when I bought it and it says motor mounts were replaced along with rack and pinion. Yesterday I took it in to give them a list of issues. They offered to take the vehicle back and put us into something else. They offer us a new Malibu and as we are doing paperwork the salesmen asks how much can you put down? We can only give you 9000 for the vehicle that we sold you 10 months ago even though you are having this many issues. So we walk away after telling us that our payments would be way over our budget. We go back to the service department and to have everything fixed on the vehicle would be close to 3500.00. I've had the worst experience since purchasing the vehicle of course the sell reps will sell you anything to make commission. This company has put me through hell, Luckily I was rear ended and the piece of shit vehicle that I was sold was a total loss. Part of my Service at the dealership involved a warranty company coming to the facility to inspect a faulty part on my truck. The day the inspector arrived he was denied access to my truck. When I called the service department to find out why I was told "It was raining hard outside, and no one on our staff wanted to go outside to push it into the shop". The warranty company was unable to reschedule the appointment until 5 days later. This in turn cost me 5 extra days of rental car fees that I had to pay out of pocket. My husband and I had our Chevy Tahoe Hybrid towed to AutoNation when it began acting up. After waiting two days for them to even pull the codes they told us it needed "an entire new engine, among other things" and our estimate was over $10,000! We found another shop willing to give a second opinion (they even towed it from Autonation for us) and it turned out needing spark plugs and a new coil. It now runs like a champ, and was a far cry from a $10,000 fix. I feel like we should at very least be refunded our diagnostic fee since our "diagnosis" was a complete lie. I've been a faithful Chevy customer my entire adult life, and it saddens me they cared more to rip me off than to keep me as a customer. Steer clear of this place. read more

I have a typical "hard luck" story a lot of people have these days. When the transmission started to go out on my old truck, I started looking for a replacement. I was turned down by several dealerships without even any effort to help me! Chris Parkerson from Fox called me and I knew I was set. I've purchased from Fox before, and they've always treated me right and put me in a car. Chris is definitely the best yet, he put me in a brand new car with a deal I still can't believe! He saved me $750 just by randomly asking if I was a USAA member, most sales people don't care that much. On top of all that, I was in and out in under 2 hours with my new car. 2 HOURS! Chris O. was my salesperson. He seemed eager to help me purchase a vehicle. Long story short, he was okay. There were times when I felt as if I could do his job better than him. It wasn't a one day ordeal which I think caused a bit frustration. When we finally struck a deal, he said that I "robbed" his dealership. Yeah, that's a nice way to say thanks. There was paperwork I needed to bring in that wasn't clarified to me as to why it was necessary. He would call my phone and leave me voicemails telling me that I'm "killing him" and so on and so forth (I couldn't decide on a car so I gave it a couple of days). I missed my initial service appointment and Chris said he'd reschedule it for me. Haven't heard from him since. One of the finance managers that I was dealing with was probably the reason I came back - he seemed to be knowledgable and know what he was doing/talking about. The dealership itself is nice. There's a service center right across the street. It's clean and there's a section for customers/kids to wait in. Would I visit again? If I was paying cash and this dealership was the only location that had the vehicle I wanted. read more

I bought a used Chevy Equinox 2011 certified pre owned. We have used this service center three times. And will not be anymore! The only reason it is getting two stars is because the cashier staff is friendly. The main problem with this place is everything takes FOREVER! Even if you have an appointment expect to wait at least 2 hours. Today it took 3 hours for an oil change. I think it's a management issue. They also lost my mirror takin an extra several weeks when I needed to get that replaced. They also try to charge me everytime for things my certified service is supposed to cover. read more

Very displeased with service at this place. We are out of towners and needed to get back home asap. They said they would not be able to get to us that same day which is understandable since we did not have an appt but we told them the urgency of the situation and they said they could see what they could do. We appreciate that but we did not like the lack of communication. They could not give us any times or whether or not they would even be able to get to it that day. We asked the manager if it would mess anything up further if we were to just drive it home. He really had no real answer and was more than happy to give us our keys back without even checking the vehicle out. I've gotten my last 3 vehicles from Autonation in Laurel. I was looking to get a new vehicle and turn in my lease in December and could not have gotten less help. The salesman, Ray, asked my sister and I if we were lesbians (AFTER we had already said we were sisters). He showed us one SUV that was way out of my price range which I told him at the beginning and refused to show me any other vehicles. He sent the finance manager Frank over to talk to us, who was rude and more concerned with the mileage overage on the lease than helping us. I had the money to cover the overage and they never even bothered to ask. They left us sitting at the sales desk for over 20 minutes and never returned so we walked out and were then accused of taking the new car keys which I had already given back to Ray when we returned from test-driving. I returned today to return my lease and was told that no one could help me until Monday because only one person is trained to take the lease back. 6 team members were sitting there to tell me this and not one knew how to write down the numbers on the odometer and take the keys??? This made me Leary of purchasing from AutoNation but I decided to give them a chance. I was a customer of Cindy Shaughnessy. She treated me very respectfully and went out of her way to try and get me the vehicle I wanted. I did end up getting the vehicle which made me happy. The only thing I was not too happy about was the amount I got for my trade-in. If I knew that they wasn't going to give me a fair trade-in amount I would've sold my car myself. However, I did take the trade-in amount because I didn't want to be paying insurance on 2 vehicles. I just hope I have a much better experience with this vehicle than I did with the one I got from Fox. Very friendly sales people. They will try their best to get you in a vehicle. I had an appointment scheduled for 4/15 at 1:15 for an oil change. I spoke to someone there in the hopes of coming in earlier to get it done. The rep that I spoke with indicated that 'it would even be better' if I were able to do that. I got there at 12:30m and was told that it would take about an hour to get it done. Almost an hour and a half later, no one ever came to get the car. When I went to speak to the rep, she actually indicated that it would take an additional 15-20 minutes before it would be taken. Gave 3 stars because I needed the cargo shade/cover replaced on my 2016 Encore, but the parts guy couldn't bother to figure out which part it was that was needed. Just said that it wasn't in the system. So even though GM makes thousands of these cars with cargo covers, the part doesn't exist? Previous experience was un-eventful, this time around was bad. Purchased new tires, and asked for them to check a noise. 1st Attempt: Wednesday, Picked up the car without a thorough test drive - my mistake. Weekend trip on the highway at high speed showed bad balance and alignment work was done, and they did not address the noise issue at all when they said they 'lubed' it. Took it back soon after. rented a car $40 2nd Attempt: Thursday, They said they did further work, I ensured that I did a test drive with the mechanic. Nothing was resolved, still bad ride and still noise. Left vehicle over night, Rented another car, $40. 3rd Attempt: Got the vehicle back, test drive didn't go beyond the parking lot, new indicator warning light on Stabilitrack system - no one test drove this vehicle before trying to return it to me, or they would have noticed. Left vehicle for another day, was too late in the day to rent a car, Autonation kindly gave me one of theirs for free - Thank you. 4th attempt: Test drove vehicle, ride is much improved after road-force-balancing that I had to pay extra for, but now there was a loose steering spot, play in the steering wheel. Left the vehicle for another day, kept the rental car. The noise issue was pushed to a later date as they said they needed even more time to pull the car apart - I declined to let them do that, I lost my trust in them to do anything else. 5th attempt: Call received on Friday from them, but no message, called back and left a message, no return call. Tried calling and transferring through 3 times, no one answered, 4th time, someone answered and hung up. It was late in the afternoon, I gave up. 6th Attempt, Saturday, I called at 4pm after not hearing from them, service closed at 3pm, used their rental car until Monday. 7th Attempt, Monday morning, I called them, they said it was ready, went to pick it up, ride and steering and warning lights all fixed, highway ride still not perfect, will take it somewhere else, I gave them every chance, they didn't do well. They really need customer service training, one service person actually argued with me and gave me dirty looks for trying to argue that my coupon for balancing 4 tires was not applicable, because they mounted them also. I won the argument, they took the coupon, but the argument was not necessary and bad customer service. When I brought the additional problems they created to their attention, they didn't react well; I noticed they gave cold reactions and were annoyed at the complaints, it made me think that they were getting used to complaints and not reacting to them; they did agree to redo their work though, I am grateful for that. At one point, a service person tried to argue that they didn't work on the steering (both alignment and failed sensor required work with the steering wheel). Just ridiculous at that point. Also, they do not have a standard practice for walking around a vehicle at check-in to make note of any damage a vehicle comes in with. Make sure you do that, just like a rental car company does, it really protects both parties, and I recommended they do that. The mechanic was nice, the cashiers were nice, the facilities are nice, they have courtesy shuttles and discount rental with Enterprise, you can always get an appointment right away, there are many good things about this dealership. Bottom line, they could have been worse. Test drive your car before you leave the dealership, and before you turn in your rental car. I will give them credit for not refusing to redo their work on the car and trying to make it right. Quality control is an issue though, a vehicle should not be returned to a customer without a thorough check list being done. 4 times the car was said to be ready, when it was not. This place is absolutely the worst! They get a NEGATIVE rating! I made a 6:30 am appointment for my new malibu's first oil change. I showed up early, waited in line like everyone else. When I handed them the keys to my car in the service lane, absolutely nothing was wrong with my car. In fact I still had another 3-400 miles before I was even due for an oil change! But after waiting over 2 hours in their waiting room, they tell me they lost my car key. So after waiting anxiously to find out if they found it, I go to pay and realize they the $39.95 advertised oil change, is actually $60.00. So i complained and they lowered it to 47 after tax. I requested that they do not rotate the tires ( they were brand new with less then 10,000 miles) they did anyway. They claimed they did a full inspection and gave everything a pass. But oddly enough, when I got in my car to drive away, I didn't make it more then 5 feet before noticing and very VERY loud grinding noise coming from the front end. It was so noticeable that I could feel it in the brake pedal when I stopped. Something had obviously been done to my car. So I parked and went inside, already agitated from being there about 4 hours already. They claimed it was " like that when they got it in". Witch was completely false and very offensive. They basically called me a liar and would bear no responsibility. But the fact remains, they " inspected" my vehicle and said nothing was wrong with it. So, if it was like that when I brought it there, why was I not informed that I had a problem with it? They agreed to take it back and check it out. After waiting another 2 hours, they call me up and tell me everything is fine, " the noise went away". So I said great and got in it, drove 5 feet and again, loud grinding noise. This time accompanied by the ABS light, and stability track light. I was furious. All I wanted was an oil change. I started to feel like Jim Carey in the movie " the mask". After it was all said and done, they still to this day claim zero responsibility, and it cost $200.00 to have a new front wheel bearing installed witch apparently was the problem. I may never know what really happened. But one thing is for sure: my car was fine before I let them have it. I would steer clear of this place. I would trust a rundown gas station to work on my car before I'd ever take it back there for anything. read more
