I highly recommend Genuine Auto Repair! Jorge was awesome to work with- very transparent, honest…read moreand detailed/thorough. (I asked a million questions... and he was so patient) He repaired my transmission, alternator and a few other things on my second vehicle which had been parked for a while. Thanks to Jorge, and Arturo my vehicle is up and running like brand new again! Definitely check them out for all service needs! I would give ten stars if I could!

In March 2025, my daughter purchased a used 2018 Audi Q5 from Karen Radley dealership in Virginia…read more Prior to purchasing, we inquired about any issues with the car, and we were told there were no issue by the dealer. On 8/18/25, my daughter took her 2018 Audi Q5 to an Audi dealership in Silver Spring, Maryland for its 100k tune-up. During that inspection, the Silver Spring dealer said she had a coolant leak and that it was going to cost $8k to repair it. We hadn't noticed any leaks and the indicator lights didn't alert her that there was a leak of any kind, so we decided to get a second opinion. On 8/20/25, my daughter and I took her Audi Q5 to Jorge at Genuine Auto Repair for a second opinion about the leak the dealer found. Jorge was my regular mechanic, and I trusted him. I called Jorge and asked if he would look at my daughter's car to ensure its safety and that there weren't any issues before we moved her out of state. I purposely didn't tell Jorge of the issue discovered by the dealer. I wanted to see if he would come to the same conclusion. If the leak had been corroborated, we had planned to get rid of the car. Jorge said to leave the car with him. We returned several hours later, and Jorge told us there were no issues. I asked him if he got under the engine cover to get a thorough look, at which time he began to get fidgety and nervous. I said, I am asking because the dealer said there was a coolant leak, and we are trying to get a second opinion, he began fidgeting again and "offered" to put the car on the lift. He put the car on the lift and said he didn't see any issues and that there weren't any leaks, so I paid him $95 for the inspection. In October, the coolant light started coming on, and my daughter has since found out that it will cost 8k to fix. It's unsafe to drive. Now we have to get rid of the car. She is now without a car. I called Jorge on 11/17/2025 to let him know and asked him to refund my $95 he refused and argued with me instead. To the owner's wife's unintelligent response, you don't do the work on these cars nor have you at anytime been involved in any conversation I have had with Jorge about any repair he's fixed for me! You don't know what I can afford! Anyone with half a brain would not pay 8k to fix a car! We went to Jorge to get a second opinion about an issue and HE DIDN'T THOROUGHLY CHECK THE CAR LIKE I PAID HIM TO DO. That is the issue here. NOT DOING WHAT HE WAS PAID TO DO. Had Jorge really checked the car on 8/20/2025, and seen the leak, we would have gotten rid of the car. Instead, because he gave us a false "all clear", we kept the car, and the issue grew unknowingly, and now the car is unsafe to drive as of 11/17/2025. There are some cars that Jorge isn't equipped to work on, and he needs to be honest with his customers if that is the case, and NOT TAKE THEIR MONEY, BUT INSTEAD REFER THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE. Now either Jorge or his illiterate wife have just texted me this:

Review long overdue!…read more Just had an engine dropped into my ride. '96/7 Series. Engine was shipped from Cali and has 95k/mine on it. Clean as a whistle and the car runs like brand new now. I was in the shop for a lot of the rebuild, watching. Had another one dropped into my X5/'01. The engine was donated from a vehicle with 65k miles on it. That was two years ago. Same phenomenal results. These guys are BMW Whisperers. They work on any car, but their expertise is foreign and beyond that BMW. Everton "Skip" Stephenson owns this little gem of a shop. His nephew Justin is his assistant. That's it...just those two...and they are as fast and crank out more work than shops triple their size. They have limited place to store cars, so they're eternally incentivised to get your car out - fast. That means same day delivery of parts and work being done while you wait, if possible. He's ASE certified with all the typical certifications, blah, blah that every mechanic seems to have..but that not this dude's magic. It's that he's a car nerd. Yup, a car nerd. Skip reads schematics, engineering and service bulletins FOR FUN. What that means is this guy brings a skill set to the table that you can't find in MOST shops let alone dealerships these days....that old school mechanic that can LISTEN to you & your car and tell you what may be wrong with it before even connecting that li'l scanner to your car's computer. He knows things about car parts and systems that even the parts guys don't know. I listened to him on the phone yesterday describing to the wholesaler what to look for and the guy on the phone was supposed to be the parts expert, lol. Beyond that, the guy is resourceful...and honorable. And relentless. Guy won't stop till he solves your problem. He really takes it personally if he doesn't find/solve your car's issue lol. If the part can be salvaged or repaired - he'll fix it, where most shops simply replace it and bill you because the "manual" says whatever it is comes in pairs or as one sealed unit. I can't tell you all the stuff he's never charged me for over the 3+ years I've been using him. For example, I needed a speed sensor the other day and he happened to have one in his shop from wherever and he just put it on. Be advised, I was there having a water pump installed so he just threw in the sensor to get my ABS light to go off. A speed sensor for my car is normally about $175 + labor, mind you. He was also able to put a blow torch and some sealant on two of my catalytic converter clamps rather than buying two new ones cuz he thought the wholesalers prices were too high. The clamps were $60 each = $120 + 1/2 hour's labor anywhere else. Lord knows I've dropped enough cash on these cars so I appreciated the gestures! He fights to save you money like it's HIS money being spent. Good dude. Glad he's my mechanic. No more hopping around to different shops using guys with questionable skill, motivation, and expertise. Bottom line is I travel past MANY shops to come to Skip. It's well worth the trip. 5 stars. Solid.

Initially I had posted on FB looking for a second opinion on my 2012 cruze (seleniod-transmission…read moreproblem) it was get a new car or get it fixed! Micheal sent me Skip and Justin! He got the job done and quick! Car is running well!
