They did a pretty good job on my tires. The stem valve on my tire was faulty and they replaced it for a very decent cost.

There have been times when JR has run diagnostics on my car and made a small tweak but didn't charge me for the work done.

My most recent visit was for an oil change. Nothing fancy. I made an appointment for 11 AM a few days before, dropped the car and walked home like normal. By 1 pm I still didn't hear from them, but I thought they would call any minute. At 2 pm I called to check in. I was told they just put the car up, and it would be another 45 minutes. The gentleman apologized and said they had a lot of appointments for 9 AM and got backed up. Now by 4 pm I still didn't hear back. I dropped my car off 5 hours ago for a standard oil change! I walked over to find my car was parked in the lot (in one of their handicapped spots). I said to the guy at the counter that I see my car is finished but did not get a call. He went to talk to another service rep, who said he tried to call and did not get through. I did not have any missed calls. Anyway, I said 5 hours for an oil change is ridiculous. He apologized and let me know the shop cannot control the appointments that are made on the website, and they had 9 appointments for 9 AM! I doubt they had 9 service techs working! That is bad on corporates end. Clearly they were set up to fail. I was going to only leave 1-2 stars, but the guys offered me a discount on my service. I appreciated the offer and service recovery. However, I don't know if I will return here. Also, other auto shops I previously used for oil changes reported each service to Car Fax. I was not aware of this until I started coming to Goodyear. They do not report to Car Fax, so now I have Car Fax sending me emails once per week about my missing service. Something to consider.

But I am retired and I no longer turn wrenches. Recently my car had had a P0303 code which means the number three cylinder was misfiring. I took it to Savannah car Care. They ran a diagnostic and quoted me $1,000 for the replacement of 8 spark plugs and wires on My 2013 Chevy suburban 5.3 motor. They called me on the phone and I thought it was a joke. But it wasn't! I had the spark plugs and wires replaced in my car 26,000 miles ago for $378. Now Savannah car Care is telling me that I have to spend $1,000 to replace one bad spark plug cable that has gone bad since the last replacement of all 8 plugs. I asked them if they could just replaced the one bad cable and plug. They said NO - that all the spark plugs and cables were bad. Well, to make long story short. I am traveling the country and I needed my SUV, so I said go ahead and do it. Because I complained about the price. They lowered the cost of $906. I've been going to Savannah car Care for about 4 years now. Initially, when I started going there they were great. The manager that I used to deal with left and things have gone downhill. At that time, I had Car Shield warranty and Savannah car Care bad mouth that company to death. Now there are sponsors of that company. Make a pack with the Devil - money talks! Savannah car Care it's no longer the company I used to recommend. They have sold out and now they WAY overprice their services. It's a shame! I will not be back. THEY RIPPED ME OFF BIG TIME! $906 for changing eight spark plugs and wires. SHAME ON YOU! Savannah car Care!

Maybe that's because I came from a large metropolitan city and wasn't used to the small town service that places like Skidaway auto repair provide. Pat runs the place, and upon meeting him I was delighted by his demeanor and his patience at explaining things to me so clearly and simply. I obviously don't know much about cars, but he didn't take advantage of that. In fact, they told me exactly what was wrong, how much it would cost, and educated me on what kind of things other mechanics, less scrupulous mechanics, would tell me and charge me, and how easily I could be taken advantage of. He made me feel like a relative was looking out for me. He even replaced a burnt out brake light for me, FOR FREE, on the spot, without waiting. Here's an example. My check engine had been on for quite a while, and he hooked up his magic gizmo to my car and within 30 seconds told me that a gas tank sensor was faulty and responsible for the check engine light. To replace the part with labor would cost about $300. However, by simply replacing my gas cap ($3 at any auto part shop) and not minding a few "false" fill up click-offs at the gas tank, I could live with the check engine light and save $300. This was on my FIRST visit to his shop! Now, tell me, in this day and age, with the economy hurting, who does that?! Pat does. The peace of mind I now have in knowing that I have an auto mechanic I can trust and who's fun to talk to, is yet another reason why I am increasingly enjoying living in Savannah. Trust me. He'll take care of you. Tell him I sent you. Thank you, Pat.

However they were unable to 'fix' a knock that my 2014 CRV kept experiencing after their so called fix after 4 trips. First bill was for $1400...no detailed receipt so can't remember exactly what was replaced. The next 3 times it was for a compressor replacement which obviously was not the issue as it kept knocking. We paid $1000 one time and then no charge on the next two replacements....however we all know what an inconvenience (but necessary) these issues are. Was told the second compressor replaced the 'defective' one and then the 3rd one was a different manufacturer which ended making the knock worse! Ended up at another auto repair and short story....the knock was finally fixed and the bill at half the cost of the original $1400. Called Skidaway to ask for some reimbursement and stated he would not offer any as "we didn't have the part to give him". There was no part to give back cause it wasn't the compressor! Word to the wise....do not waste your time going here.
