This dealership sold me a vehicle without checking car fax. Also, they did not run a Virginia State Inspection (this is required by law). My car was used as a trade in the night before I bought it. Multiple calls to the sales manager went unanswered. The sales people are unprofessional beyond belief. They joke and laugh and eat and talk terribly about customers without even hiding it. October 9, 2015 I leased a a car from this dealership I put down $900. On Halloween I received a call from the finance guy Joey (now working at the other location 196 Cambridge st. Fredericksburg Va 22405) telling me to come to the dealership to sign some paperwork. When I got there he told me he had to keep my car to install a GPS and fix some things that were concerning me and could pick my car up the following Monday. Not having heard from Joey I called Tuesday. He told me it wasn't ready and he would call me soon. On November 24, 2015 I recurved a call from a man named Gary that identified himself as the sales manager telling me I need to bring the loaner car back. I returned his call, he told me my car was ready come in right after work. I did as instructed, waited an hour. Being ignored by everyone. Then finally a salesman named Rico came and told me they were taking my car back because the bank did not accept my form of income (notarized letters) and I would need to bring my paystub in Friday. I arranged to go to my office which was closed print off my most recent paystub and come to the dealership Friday. I arrived Friday , paystub in hand, obviously still frustrated but there. They told me they needed a new application and would have to stay the process over. Not what they said Wednesday. I fill out the. application . wait another hour, asking for the manager Brian the whole time. Brian finally brings me in the office by this time I have mad, who wouldn't be. I tell Brian I don't know that I trust them as I have been lied to every step of the way, Brian says forget it just come get your check for your down payment Monday. Monday comes and a salesman D says I can't come because accounting is closed but he will have them cut my check tomorrow and I can pick it up Tuesday after work. I called D while on my break at 3 he says he will have it ready by the time I got off at 5:30 at 5:30 I received a text message from D apologizing that his manager Brian banned me from the property and refuses to give my down payment back and if I come to the property he would call the police. I have filed a complaint with the BBB (they ate not accredited as Brian said they were and have 30 complaints) and reported them to the DMV I am also contacting a lawyer. After shopping around for a week, I come across this dealership that offered no money down and everyone gets approved regardless of your credit, which I have some issues. Before I showed up, I called to confirm my appointment and to let them know that I was on my way. Once I arrived , the gentlemen at the front desk informed me Rocky and Carlos had left for the day. Ok, I know, this should have been my 1st sign, but played along as he said he said another rep would help me out. I was told by Rocky that I was was pre-approved with Capital One prior to going to this dealership. First he supposedly pulled my credit without me even choosing a vehicle and that all I needed to do was to bring in 2 recent paystubs, 2 months of bank statements, a copy of my current insurance policy and a piece of mail with my name and address on it and even though they advertised no money down, Rocky said it would look good if I had at least $800 to $1000 to put down and this would begin the process of finalizing my car approval as I did have all of these items with me. Moving on...... I sat down with this rep and proceeded to give him my information, and lord and behold, they could not find me in the system as being approved. They did have my credit application, but did not seem that it was submitted. WHAT! I drove all they way there from work, 1 hour away to find out that I my application had not been submitted or approved.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!. The sales clerk then told me that I had to fill out another application. wait, wait, wait a minute......YOU HAVE MY APPLICATION ON FILE, JUT SUBMITT IT NOW. He went back in to the office that I assume was the finance managers office and they said that they had to run my credit again. It took them about 20 minutes and then he came back and said you were approved but by your score being low, you would need to put down $6000 - $7000 to get the vehicle...ARE YOU KIDDING ME AGAIN, YOU THINK IM STUPID???!!!! After all that time , you come back with this!!!!! What normal individual walks around with that kind of money in a bank. If I had that kind of money just sitting there, TRUST and BELIEVE , I would not be shopping there. I would be looking for brand new car! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I talked to a gentleman named Gary on the phone and I explained to him my situation (recent repo, driving 3 hours to the dealership, $500 down) And I asked for clarification NUMEROUS times if I would be guaranteed to get in a vehicle if I drove all that way. He assured me as long as I have insurance I will leave off the lot with a vehicle. I get to the dealership at 930 am on a Friday that I had taken off of work. I was introduced to ANOTHER man who claimed to be Gary. (which I knew he wasn't --voice was completely different and BIG age difference) He claimed that the finance manager was not in yet (it'll be another 30-45 minutes) So we went to get some coffee. Meanwhile "Gary" texts me asking if I have another outstanding car loan (which I do, just got repoed, which I had already explained to the first "Gary" I talked to) After being on the lot for 2 hours I decided to leave, 30 minutes after that "Gary" texts me saying that they are not going to be able to do anything for me. Such an awful experience. I feel foolish for not doing my research on this place before coming. Every negative review is true. They are scammers and will screw you anyway they can. Ron was acting sketchy from the very beginning, being very fidgety (had 4 large cups of wawa coffee on his desk) and not very knowledge. I should have RAN. Again, foolish of me. LONG story short, my loan was screwed up because they doubled my salary and when the bank did the employment verification and got my real salary, the loan fell through. They had no problem pointing all their fingers at me because I signed the paperwork with my salary doubled. Yes, I did. Again, foolish. However, I pointed it out to Ron and told him it was not right BEFORE I signed and that I was worried that they doubled it. He assured me that it was fine and it would "play in my favor". So alas I signed. And got screwed. He *texted* me a week later demanding I come in to resign the paperwork. At this point I did not know what was going on, and he would not explain to me exactly why. I live an hour away, if you can't even explain to me what is going on NICELY, you need not to be a salesman. So I stopped responding to him and called up there and spoke to Rose. She was very nice, very understanding, understood my frustration, and she was the one that actually explained to me why I needed to come back. I dealt with her for a hot second when I got there and then she passed me over to Chris the sales manager. He and boyfriend had a little spat because clearly THEY screwed me sideways, but he rebuttled very quickly that I signed the paperwork. And continued to explain that all dealerships do this LOLOLOL. REALLY. So fraud is a common practice? Good to know. AND THEN told me he could get me a tow truck to take my trade in home because we had already turned in the tags believing that everything was fine. So to wrap up, I just wanted to get out of there. My payment went up because of this, whatever. And I also found out that Ron gave me a $4,000 warranty that he did NOT explain to me. The car came with the Ford warranty, I did not need anything else. Again, foolish of me. I learned a HUGE life lesson at this awful establishment. Please please please steer clear of this place. I am a former car salesman, that was looking for a car for my daughter. I walked into Auto Direct and Dean was the only salesman that said hi. We have a wonderful conversation about the business and the needs of my daughter. It took us less than an hour to find a car. He even let me take it home overnight and I have my mechanic look at it. When I returned the next day the process was quicker than I could remember as a salesman. There are bad reviews about this store, however my experience was exceptional. When you go here ask for Dean. Oh my gosh. The reviews are correct. Nasty, unprofessional. So, we have been looking for a Scion TC. My son found one this dealership had, so we called. The first thing we noticed was there are two different prices on Car Gurus and Cars.com for the same car. We still thought we would look at it, as the car is customized and my son really liked it. We saw the dealership had many bad reviews, but they seemed ok when I called. The man said he would send me info about the car by text and he told me a funny story about people taking cars to their home states for a pre-purchase inspection, gave the okay for a local inspection. We thought it would be ok. We thought we would be buying that car and I found a place to do a pre-purchase inspecrThen, instead of sending me info about the car, Gary sent a text saying to ask for him when we got there. That's it. Then, because it's like a two hour drive from our house, we thought we would ask for clarification of the price and mileage, because that is also different on the Carfax, the sites and the pictures, and for better pictures. Instead of saying that was no problem, got a series of texts saying he would not take pictures, to look at the website, and how busy he was. He then sent text after text on how busy he was. Finally, after back and forth where I said how shocked I was at his attitude and he lost a sale and I would leave a bad review like the other reviews he sent a text saying "LMAO." I won't buy a car from there. BTW, the listed mileage they advertise is 76,816 and the carfax says last reported is 79819. He didn't address any of my questions, as he's too busy. I think his lack of professionalism says it all. Update. So, a number from Washington, D.C. called me to see if I was coming. The car is still for sale btw, and I didn't recognize the number. Days later, that number wrote me again, but this time I had looked up the number seeing it belonged to Autos Direct. A back and forth ensued where I explained why I won't buy from there. Instead of an apology, for a "you are so funny." I asked a few times they not contact me and whoever the person was kept writing. And just wrote again. Harassment is what I call it. Every time I said don't contact me, he wrote back, and he even said I was bothering him. Finally, as I was trying to figure out how to block the texts, as I had blocked the calls, but the texts had continued, he said "ok" after I once again said to go away. I hope they do leave me alone. Very unfortunate, was looking for a very specific car and found it at this dealership. Happened to be about 2 hours from where I live after spotty communication and pre-approval for a loan I decided to make the drive to look at the vehicle. But once I got there I was told it was about $100 a month more than what I was told Over the phone. But After talking and working with the salesmen I decided to purchase the car. After looking through I found out, he then increased the price of the vehicle and made my trade in more as well to increase his commission and immediately after leaving the dealership the salesman then blocked my phone number and when I call the dealership I was told he no longer works for the company. And after 10 days and about 12 left messages on "managers" voicemails. Still no word back, even get told by people answering the phone that people are busy as the put down the phone and tell the person I'm looking for that it's not important. This dealership is not in the business of selling, they are in the business of debt and jacking the prices on your monthly payments. They sell the cars "As-Is" (which they don't tell you) and there is no warranty when you drive off the lot. One car we test drove the brakes were grinding, we notified the salesman and he didn't seem surprised. We test drove other vehicles one had a service engine check light on. First things first...I should have done my homework! Read the reviews about this dealership! I first started communicating with Autos Direct on 10/22 after seeing a vehicle on their website. After speaking with Edward (one of their salesmen) and explaining I had a 2 1/2 hour ride to come see the vehicle he advised me that it had a clean Carfax. He also disclosed there were no visible scratches and the rims were in excellent condition. After making an appointment and filing out a credit app online to expedite the sales process I headed to the dealership on 10/26/19. We arrived at 9am and was met by Edward. We looked the vehicle over and saw a few scratches and took it for a test ride. Upon returning we met with Dean the F&I manager. Since my credit was preapproved it should have been an easy transaction. Dean proceeded to add on numerous extra charges that were NOT discussed with me prior to my visit. I requested the Carfax report many times that morning. We finally negotiated a deal after he removed some ridiculous charges in the sum of $2000.00 (which did NOT include DMV fees). My tags were to be transferred from my old vehicle to this new one. I never received the Carfax. After returning home I was able to obtain a copy of the Carfax and it showed the vehicle had structure damage. I was LIVID to say the least. I was lied to and manipulated over and over again. I finally (after many phone calls) demanded some kind of compensation for this dishonest sales approach and after much to do I received a settlement check. I then received NEW tags in the mail... OMG!!! They couldn't even get that part right! I had to go to DMV myself (after paying Autos Direct to handle this) to get my tags transferred! Do NOT EVER buy a vehicle from this dealership!!! Run from this place. They have no integrity. Two different salepeople told us there was a spare key for our truck.....lie. Had to pay almost $400 to have one made. We were told we could qualify for 1.9% financing if our credit was good. Both of our scores were over 800, but when we went to sign the final papers the rate was 2.49%. They rush you and haggle you and after they run your credit they tell you that if will go down if you go somewhere else to look for a car. They made an exciting time for us just horrible. read more

My 17 yr. asked for the salesman card and then proceeded to call them on their rude comments and trying to take advantage of his brother by selling him something so crappy. He told that he was thinking about reporting them to the BBB. At that time they told him to get off the property or they would call 911. My son starts to leave, and the salesman said to him.." My girlfriend and I had an absolutely horrible experience with the Fredericksburg, VA location. My girlfriend found a 2007 MazdaSpeed3 on their website. We contacted the dealership and spoke with Rick first to obtain better pictures of the vehicle we were interested in as the pictures on the website were not great. We patiently waited for the weather to improve in VA. After two days of clear weather(yes, I was checking the weather) with no contact, my girlfriend called and asked to speak with the sales manager, Gary. She explained the situation to Gary and Gary told her it wasn't the first time he had to clean up after Rick. Gary sent us pictures that were no better than what was on his website from his cell phone. We informed him that we would be making the 4.5 hour trip from NC the next day to take a look at the car in person with cash in hand. Upon making the 4.5 hour drive on a Saturday, we arrive to Fredericksburg location a good hour after they opened only for Gary to tell us that the vehicle had been sold. At which point he pulled the usual subpar salesman tactic of, "But we have a really nice Mazda RX8." He had no remorse for the time and money he made us waste making the trip from NC for a vehicle that had already been sold. read more

My father was kind enough to go to Autos Direct to buy a car for my small children and myself, a newly single mother. The day I picked it up I noticed that the radio and interior lights did not work, so I called the dealer and they said I could bring it in and as long as it wouldn't cost them over $100 they would fix it, so needless to say they fixed it, so I was happy. Until just a week later the heat stopped working, I had to take it to a mechanic and he said that someone had put Stop Leak in the radiator and it clogged it, so I had to replace the radiator, heater coil and thermostat, as well as the back brakes (whom the dealer told my dad were fine they just made a grinding noise because they were rusty from it sitting). After getting that fixed it did ok for another week, and today, had it for 30 days, I am going down a busy highway, 60 MPH with my children and the car starting making a loud clanking, grinding noise and losing speed, so praying that the person behind me was paying attention I put my flashers on and then noticed that the steering wheel and brakes were locked up so I pulled the steering wheel as hard as I possibly could to get the car off the road and had to park it with the emergency brake. The good Samaritan that pushed it off the road for me, said it sounded like my motor blew, so I guess well see....This dealership will sell you a lemon/deathtrap in a heartbeat, with no conscious obviously. Its sad because this morning could have been fatal for me and my family because of this car. Autos direct inc. -stay away from this dealer! I go there today to look at an explorer and an armada. Explorer only had 33000 miles on it and was so rusted out on the bottom and underneath I don't even know how the body was still attached . Then the armada... so test drive went great. Interior in terrible condition but then again price quoted was only 4990.00 plus tax title tags and processing fee of 499.00. The ac doesn't work. Needs the tension pulley replaced and definitely needs new tires. Left rear tire had bubbles and all tires were bare hmmm but it has an inspection sticker dated 3/18. Wtf? So we talk cost out the door with issues I could leave with it as is for $4900 even. If I have them fix those 3 things it would be $5467 out the door. So I say you fix it I'll pay the 5467. Then they say no we can't let it go for that. They wanted me to take the 4900 deal thinking I was stupid but I already know the potential cost of fixing the issues. Ac could be about a grand, tires if new looking at another grand, and tension pulley no more than $15 for the part. Dads a mechanic and I told them that. How stupid do they think people are? So their $5467 deal with them fixing it.... duh I'll take that. But no they went back on their word. What business does that? I have never in my life dealt with a business like this and will never buy anything from them. They have pissed me off to no end on their dishonesty. read more

***PLEASE READ BEFORE purchasing a vehicle from Autos Direct of Fredericksburg. I purchased a Buick Enclave 2012 from Chris May 2017. I notified him within 48 hours that the radio did not work and there was water dripping on my feet everytime it rained. 2 weeks later I find out that vehicle has a cracked engine mount which Chris & the Finance Mgr Dominque agreed to fix. After NUMEROUS unreturned calls and extreme persistence they kept my car for 14 days to fix the radio and water issue only after it had been at my local mechanic shop per their prior approval for 5 days but they did not want to pay there so I was forced to drive back 2 hours to Autos Direct. That is 15 days without my newly purchased vehicle within the first 30 days!!! I complained about their unprofessional behaviors and lack of urgency on my issue and because I complained was told that they will not be fixing my vehicle and no longer wanted my business. The Inventory Mgr Andy later told me the car that I purchased was not ready for sell due to issues already known with the amplifier however Chris sold it and made a profit anyway. This lets me know that with this company it's about making a dollar and NOT the quality of service or to make the consumer happy. Please do not patronize this business. I now have to fix a pre-existing issue of a vehicle that should have never been sold. Mind you I put down 5,500 and still have to invest more money within the first 30 days of having this car. I'm beyond disappointed and dissatisfied and wish I would have taken heed to the many other reviews that are similar to mine about this company. Ya-Ya is another representative of this company who agreed to pay for my repairs and did not keep his word. Do NOT trust ANYTHING they promise you unless you have it in writing. Not sure how this place is even in business. I drove almost 4 hours to get the car and I get there and it is so dirty it looked like they didn't touch it since it came from auction. Sales Manager was only willing to give 40 bucks compensation when it needed a full $300 reconditioning, and did not follow through with giving it to me; I had to basically beg for it after the sale. Salesman reassured me multiple times that it needed nothing and had fresh inspection and servicing. I drive it home and get it PA inspected from a VERY highly respected shop nearby and it needed $1,300 worth of work JUST to pass inspection!! I tried calling the manager to discuss and it went straight to voicemail and 2 weeks later still no follow up. ONCE YOU SIGN PAPERS AND DRIVE OFF, YOU MEAN NOTHING TO THEM.
