Purchased a new 2024 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X in Feb. 2025 that included "Pohanka Total Care" ( includes, among other things, "1 year complimentary oil and filter changes" and "Complimentary Car Washes". Allow me to point out that the fine print reads that this is limited to only TWO visits within the first year and excludes: Diesel, High Performance and Synthetic Oil. Pohanka will not mention this to you until after they have done your service and present you with a hefty bill. In May 2025, I took my truck into Pohanka with 4959 miles. The oil and filter was changed and the truck was "washed" ( rather, the truck was "hosed off" ) and the invoice stated that 5 quarts 0W20 Synthetic Blend oil had been used ( $3.95 per quart ) at no charge. I scoffed at the Service Advisor when he tried to upsell me a tire rotation service on a truck with less than 5K miles on it but, brushed it off as just doing what the management expected him to do. In August 2025, I returned with my truck at 10015 miles for the second oil change. After the service was done, I was asked to pay $100.27! I explained to the Advisor that this was supposed to have been my second "complimentary" service, at which point he responded that he saw no such information in my file. I asserted that I had purchased the vehicle there in Feb. and I would definitely not pay $100 for an oil change and would need to speak to a manager. Again he claimed that there was nothing indicating I was due a complimentary service and tried to tell me that the complimentary oil and filter change was "only for the first one". I showed him screenshots of the Pohanka Total Care details from their website ( which I had saved to my phone since Feb. because, to be honest, I didn't trust them to honor that when the time came to claim the services and I wanted to make sure I had proof of it ). The Advisor then began searching on his computer for several minutes and then pointed out that it did not include "Synthetic Oil" ( which I knew ) and, synthetic oil had been used for the service ( at $7.16 per quart ). When I pointed out that I never requested "synthetic oil" be used on my vehicle, I was told synthetic oil is REQUIRED for my vehicle and they don't even have non-synthetic or synthetic blend oil there. Knowing this was a lie, I produced the invoice from the May 2025 service, showing that "0W20 Synthetic blend LOF" HAD BEEN used. The advisor then looked at the invoice and tried to pass off yet ANOTHER lie, telling me that the Part Number of the oil used, shown on the May invoice was synthetic oil ( that, remember, is excluded from the complimentary oil changes and was done at no charge ). I again told the advisor that I was not paying for this and would wait to speak with the manager. A short while later, the advisor returned from speaking with the manager himself ( without me, of course.... ) and said, "The manager said not to make a big deal out of this but, this is the last complimentary oil change. If they didn't want to make a big deal out of this, they should have considered that before telling me a string of lies to try to get me to pay $100 for an oil change! I was told that I would still receive lifetime State Inspections though and, I have NO doubt that they would try to sell me a list of unnecessary repairs to pass. Being a seasoned diesel mechanic ( 20+ years ) and a Va. State Inspector ( 15 years ) myself, I know when someone is being dishonest with me about these things and feel sorry for those people who do not have the knowledge or ability to recognize when they are being charged for something unnecessary just to increase dealership profits. Personally, after this experience, I would never trust these people to do anything with my vehicle out of my sight. Now, about their "complimentary car wash". As previously suspected, this is actually no more than a cursory hose-off of the vehicle. I watched as they drove my truck from the service bay to the wash bay and, within FIVE MINUTES ( if it was that long ) my truck was sitting on the ready line. After it dried, it was just as dirty as it was when I arrived.... Bug splatter all over the front end of the vehicle, dirt film on the paint, wheels, tires and windows and mud in the fender wells, splash guards and rocker panels had for the most part, remained untouched ( except for what may have been removed by the cursory hose-off ). I have added several photos to this review to substantiate that my claims and recount of my experience is based on the facts that I experienced first hand and have not embellished or exaggerated these facts in any way. Pohanka Customer Relations can choose to respond to this account of my experience however, nothing will change the fact that I no longer trust this dealership and will not return nor will I recommend anyone I know patronize them for any reason whatsoever. read more

I had broken down Thursday October 28, 2021 on I95 North, was towed to Pohanka Nissan of Fredericksberg on a Thursday night, my wife came down from Delaware to pick me up. The Service Manager, (Adam) contacted me on Friday morning (I am now in Delaware) informing me of the problem (shot alternator and battery), and about how long it would take, called me Saturday that the car was fixed. I asked him if I was able to pick up on Sunday on my way down to FT Lee, he said yes it was possible, to call him (gave me his number). I got there around 2pm, picked car up, drove almost to Doswell, VA, car broke down again, got towed back again. The service manager (Adam) went out of his way to make sure I was able to pickup my car. I had to wait for him to finish with his daughter on Halloween, but I didn't mind as he was coming in after business hours to accommodate me, other businesses would not have done that. Adam (Service Manager) came in (on Sunday, shop was closed), set me up with a rental car. Adam (Service Manager) called me Monday to inform me that the car was fixed, and able to be picked up. I picked my car up just before 6:00pm. Car has been working fine since then. read more

First of all, I purchased my very first Pickup in August from Pohanka Nissan on US-1 in Fredericksburg. It's a 2022 Nissan Frontier in Tactical Green. Loaded up with every possible option! I've gotten many compliments driving around town; and I LOVE the truck! The salesperson and staff were easy to work with. It was a GREAT experience. Recently, i had to take my Frontier in for minor Service. I was fortunate to deal with Adam Zaccagnino on the Service Desk. I was a drive-in customer without an appointment. Adam got me in and out in a couple of hours and got everything fixed. One of the two minor items (a tire issue) was not covered by my warranty. $20 out of my pocket. My point is that Adam Z was a total gentleman and very courteous and friendly too. I'm not usually a dealer/service guy. But due to Adam Z's attitude and ability to sell me on Pohanka Service, I'll definitely be back. Except... This Frontier is PERFECT. Wednesday I took my 2013 Frontier to Pohabla for an oil change and to have a reoccurring problem with the tire pressure sensor fixed again. The service writer was Adam who listened to a VERY frustrated senior citizen. Adam was very calm, can't say the same for me. He explained what he was having the technician check. After thinking the problem was corrected I drove my vehicle a short distance when the sensor warning came back on. When I returned to the dealership Adam immediately took my vehicle back to service and had the tech recheck the system where one sensor failed. Adam again listened to a very frustrated person. I decided to have all four of the sensor replaced. I was given a loaner vehicle to use until my vehicle could be repaired. Adam called me advising me of the repair status. Once the repair was complete I was called to pick up my vehicle. When I arrived at the dealership Adam greeted me with a smile and explained the repair process. Adam made the experience a pleasant one. I must admit my deamenor was not pleasant. I will return and hopefully deal with Adam. My thanks to Adam for treating me professionally. read more

I recently purchased my 2015 Nissan Xterra from Pohanka Nissan. The sales team was extremely welcoming and informative. I have always driven a sedan and when I went on a test drive of the Xterra with Tony, he made me feel at ease, teaching me about the car and the safety features offered. He also chose an excellent route involving both back roads and highway so I could really imagine myself driving this vehicle. The customer service manager Angela was the second Pohanka team member I spoke with about my growing interest in the potential purchase. She was extremely personable, knowledgeable and helped make my decision easy for me. Discussing payment options with Matt was a breeze. We discussed my payment options privately in his office and after deciding this was the right vehicle for me, he made it seem like I was joining the Pohanka family! I am extremely happy with my new Xterra as I keep showing her off to everyone. If I could give them 10 stars I would but the scale goes up to 5 only! I brought my car in for service and found out I had a transmission problem! The unfortunate thing was the service dept also informed me my maintenance warranty expired as well! Stuck with an 18k balance on the car, I was devastated and thought my only option was to spend 7k to replace the transmission. Thanks to the creative and wonderful team at Pohanka and Hyundai, I was able to lease a car that offered tons of incentives which wiped out most of my outstanding balance! I am now leasing a 2024 Electric Ioniq 5! I want to shout out to my wonderful and patient salesman Isaac B and the managers involved in making this deal happen! Knowing we lived over 2 hours away from Fredericksburg, they worked quickly to get everything done in a timely manner. We had called ahead to ask if a certain car we saw online was still available.....when we pulled up in the lot, they already had the car out so we could look at it. That is customer service! They pulled the car fax report, went for a test drive and made us comfortable while the car was readied for the trip home. While traveling from out-of-state, my mother's Nissan Versa encountered an issue that required us to have it towed to the nearest dealership. Although they were unable to look at it immediately, as it was the weekend, the ensured us they would perform a diagnostic check first thing Monday morning. We entrusted it to their care and returned home, nearly five hours away. I received a call from their service coordinator, Adam, who informed me what the issue was and how long it would take to receive parts and complete the repair. Adam also filed the warranty claim for us and maintained an open line of communication throughout the entire process. We returned the following weekend to pick up the vehicle and had zero issues on our return trip home. We bypassed at least half a dozen Nissan dealers closer to our home than Pohanka to buy a 2015 Nissan Murano. Pohanka had the best price among those dealerships. We did use Consumer Reports and TrueCar's buying service and did the wheeling and dealing with Pohanka and the other dealerships over the phone and by Internet. The final negotiated price was better enough than the prices at closer dealerships to make the long drive worth our while. Sales associate Tyler Coles and Pohanka took excellent care of us. Once arriving, the deal including processing all the paperwork was closed in less than an hour and hassle-free with no upsale pressure. The car was perfectly prepped. Tyler was exceptionally generous in teaching us how to set up and use the many high-tech features in the car. We would buy from Tyler and Pohanka Nissan again without reservation. read more

I have been very pleased with the customer service of the dealership. Melody Clemmer and Laura Hayden were great in helping me get a car that met my needs and had a good finance package that was good for my budget. I had not made monthly payments for 30+ years, so this was an adjustment and it was okay for my budget. A salesman, Rich Lingo, was so nice in giving me a test drive months before and not being pushy about buying a car that I went back when I was ready to buy. Since then, the service department has been helpful and prompt. When I took it in for safety inspection, I walked to a nearby restaurant to eat. I was barely there before they texted me to coem pick up my car! My experience at Pohanka was outstanding and truly memorable due to my sales representative Darlene Breeden. I was literally stranded in that state trying to purchase my Acura RDX due to a financial hiccup. I was stranded there for 2 days while the issue was getting worked out, it was on the weekend and I stayed until the following Monday. What made this so memorable is due to Darlene going above and beyond to take care of me. Darlene drove me to find a hotel, provided me with personal transportation during my stay, took me shopping to purchase essentials and clothing, she treated me like family.
