Consistent with other bad reviewers, they charge before the visits. In my case they winterized my system, turned off the garden hose and the sprinklers but come spring during the activation only the sprinkler is back and running. Apparently the hose is not their responsibility! So the disconnected garden hose pipe (which they did) is not their job. Bad service. I would not recommend. read more

Absolute NIGHTMARE!!!!!! USE at your own RISK!!!! Highly unreliable, deeply dysfunctional experience and above all... AVOID at All Costs!!! We were in a time sensitive situation with a Leak Around the clock, in the valve pipe, it was essential to have attention ASAP, I inquired and I had hoped in good faith to get an estimate on the costs associated. I had made 7 phone calls, and sent 3 emails in between to Geoff Boyle who failed to follow through. I ended up retaining Asian plumbing in Watertown which was highly reputable with high quality work in a fraction of the time. However autowater neglects inquiries, they pick and choose customers as if they're overly PRE occupied. I even sent pictures assuming the owner would use a sense of urgency. Everything is backwards so so NOT use if your in a emergency, you Will be Brushed Off. Definitely don't think trice about Akian they take pride and offer One year warranty on party's labor with their high quality results. I deeply regret even reaching out to autowater, I suffered 2 days of additional leaking which could have been Avoided!!!!! I would Not recommend for any maintenance or install as they have minimal regard to the general public. Akian has Hundreds and hundreds of local Established highest ratings! Akian plumbing PRIORITIZE and value customer needs, I can NOT say the same for autowater, absolute Failure across the board. In Conclusion..... (((((They have a 3 STAR feedback ratings on Yelp which is very much Alarming)))) They all act as if they are volunteering. We've been using Autowater Irrigation for many years and they've done a great job. We had originally asked them for an estimate for installation in 2013 but we went with a different company because of price. Using that other company turned out to be a big mistake, which I won't get into here. Even though Autowater did not do our install, they agreed to take us on for the service of our system. We mostly use them for winterization at the end of the season but, this year, I thought that there was an issue that required them to visit. The owner, Geoff, showed up himself to make the easy fix and our system is fine now. Geoff came out very quickly and alerted me as to his arrival time. We heartily recommend this company and will continue to do so. read more

We had some damage from chipmunks and they fix it for nothing and explained how to deal with the chipmunks. Geoff and his crew did a fantastic job installing our new sprinkler system in our large, mature yard with numerous flower beds, rose gardens and moss garden. From the beginning, the Autowater Team showed a strong desire to install a system that met our needs in a smart manner that ensured we would not be wasting water. They put a great deal of thought into the best way to structure and layout our system. Our yard presented a number of challenges, but the team showed strong persistence - we have a large driveway with an extra deep footing that was a challenge to get under, but with a great deal of effort, they succeeded (where others may have taken an easier, but more damaging to the driveway route). They also did a great job getting the yard put back together after all of the work and helping with any questions we had programming the new system. We had used Autowater at our previous house to turn the system on and off at the start and end of each season as well - they always did a great job with that work as well. Based on our experience, we would definitely recommend Autowater for anyone considering the installation of a new system or the maintenance of an existing one. read more

I had thw worst experiance with them. Came over to solve a problem, were 2 hrs on site, promised to call me when they are done and shut the garage down. Never called, never solved the problem and left the garage open. Two days later sent me a bill for doing nothing. I called them and they said they dont want to do the job. Have had Autowater for our lawn irrigation for the last 4 years. This year had to ask for help repairing the anti-siphon outdoor faucet. Jeff came out and helped troubleshoot the problem. Rather than doing a pricey repair to change out the whole faucet, he offered to try to replace the broken part instead and voila... fixed! He also told me how to save money in the future by using a different outdoor faucet tied only into the irrigation system and not the main house water meter. What great knowledge to have! In addition, he helped to answer a random question I had about a water filled PVC pipe in the lawn. He quickly offered to pull out his snake and took 5 min for him to check and figure out it may just be a blockage in the downspout drainage system. Jeff did not charge me for his valuable time and expertise, or that small part. Just said was a quick fix and was glad to help. I offered to at least tip him for his time, but he told me no need as he was the owner! Thank you, Jeff, for your sincerity and generosity with your time and expertise! We moved into our new home that was outfitted with a full Autowater irrigation system, both spray heads and drip irrigation. The winterization was complicated by the fact that we wanted to install a patio where two zones were already in place, and the service I received from all the staff at Autowater was amazing! After my initial call to ask them to remove the lines, they were at my house the next day! And in pouring rain, the team of three not only removed the lines I asked, but also marked the existing lines that are staying, to help the patio installation crew later. Their attention to detail, their professionalism, their good humor and willingness to help is exactly what you'd want in any business you hire! I can't recommend them highly enough. I have been a customer for years, but they have changed their phone management system such that when you call, you never reach a live person, but rather have to leave a message for someone to call you back. I eventually received return calls, but usually days after leaving the message, and I am not always able to answer calls during business hours. Despite asking them to schedule an appointment and leave me a message with the date/time of the appointment, I continue to receive a message of "call us back to make an appointment". I have never heard of a business that does not answer their phones ever, and relies on speaking to customers when it is convenient for the company (not the customer). I have been trying to get an appointment for spring activation services for a month, and have given up. read more

Although our initial experience was good with Autowater, I was disappointed in the quality of the system after a few years. Also, I was surprised to be treated unpleasantly as a customer of 5 years when we had a problem. Instead of working with me or even apologizing for a glitch in their system which ultimately caused me an expensive problem, Anthony was condescending and arrogant in our conversations. In full disclosure, I was not without fault in the breakdown of the system and was willing to shoulder almost all of the cost. Anthony and Autowater were unwilling to recognize that part of their initial orientation to the system lacked an essential piece of information. I was never told that Autowater installed a new water spigot for their irrigation system in my basement. I thought that they were using my already existing water shut off valves. Anthony expressed shock at my ignorance but did not think it was something that a customer should be told by his technicians when the system is installed. Instead, new customers should be savvy enough to know this for themselves. I am not savvy and know nothing about plumbing. For all those others out there who also have no knowledge of this subject please be warned to look for the extra water turnoff in your basements if you have an irrigation system!! I will find another company to fix our problem, even if it costs more. read more

The entire experience from the phone call for an estimate to the moment they drove away was one of the single best consumer experiences i have ever had. They came out for an estimate immediately and had a proposal to me in under 24 hrs. The price was very reasonable and upon agreement of the proposal, the gas company was out marking the property the following day. They came out and performed the install less than a week later with the utmost respect for myself as well as my lawn. They cleaned up after themselves as well as made the pipe pulling cuts almost non existent. They went through the entire system with me one zone at a time and were sure to adjust every head to ensure 100% lawn coverage. I highly recommend Autowater for irrigation needs. I can't begin to say how many companies I spoke with and how many could have cared less to even give me an estimate. The experience made my day! Hats off to Anthony and his crew! read more
