These guys came in so clutch for me and my family. My vehicle was parked on the top floor of the parking garage of our condo. AAA sent two "tow trucks" AKA phony tow companies who are the absolute worst. These guys went above and beyond bright every piece of equipment they had to make sure the vehicle wasn't damaged in the process of doing all the rigging they had to do to get it off the top floor. It was a great process and in fact the owner was the guy who came and picked up the vehicle himself. Super nice, honest man. I would suggest this company to anyone who needs a tow in the Destin area. This company does not follow Florida and Walton County statutes. They charged us $501 for a non consensual 14 mile tow. They also attempted to make us sign a waiver that we would not hold them liable for damages which is against the statutes. But they wanted the money bad enough they didn't require we sign it once we refused. We plan to go to small claims court. They demanded cash when state law says they must accept a credit card or a check from a Florida bank. If you have been towed by them recently I would check your receipt and the statutes. Highway robbery literally! They have an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. read more

So we waited. 9:34 AM ETA revised 90 mins. waited again. 11:08 AM ETA revised 45 mins. 12:24 PM ETA revised 45 mins. 2:09 PM ETA revised 30 mins. absolutely zero communication. Original ETA for as 110 minutes.. 10 minutes in I get a text from my roadside assistance company that the AutoWorks Towing and Recovery were on site. Naturally I call to make sure they see me only to be told they were in a town that is an hour way assisting another customer. At this point, its no problem because I was told originally that it was 110 minutes. I call back 3 hours later and they say they'll get a hold of the driver and call me back. I wait 20 more minutes and call again and they say the driver will call me. Still waiting for the driver to call me because I've lost faith that he's coming. I call back my roadside assistance and they miraculously get an answer that they're 35 minutes away. I'm still waiting. I will preface by saying that I required roadside assistance with my cars insurance company, and unfortunately this is the company that they chose to provide towing service for me. My car broke down on HWY 123 around 6:20 pm this past Monday after calling my car insurance company for roadside assistance I was set up with a tow through AutoWorks Towing and Recovery. While my car insurance never gave me an ETA I called the towing company merely to get an idea of how long I'd be waiting on the side of the highway. Terry (sp?) answered and seemed very annoyed that I'd dare ask such about an ETA, out of her complete and utter display of rudeness she mentions that the ETA will be 90 mins as the driver has 2 tows to complete in Santa Rosa and then he will be over my way (Santa Rosa county or town..I do not know). Some time has elapsed and my wife and 3yr old child later arrive to give me a ride home (due to covid restrictions I can't ride with tow driver). They arrive around 7:15 pm. We think it will be just a short wait here on the side of the highway before the tow truck comes since that is what I was told by the towing company. However, that 90+ minutes comes and goes and around 8:10 I call the towing company again and once again the ever-so-friendly and customer service oriented Terry answers and replies with such couth that I will be forced to wait another 45 minutes as the driver now has a tow in Niceville. I have the audacity to question this miscommunication or error on her part and am met with "What can I say, he has other cars to tow?!". Meanwhile I'm waiting in my wife's car on the side of the highway with a preschooler who is tired, hungry and somewhat potty trained. This is quite an inconvenience to me I should add, and I'm seeing RED after my interaction with this piss poor excuse of a customer service representative. I immediately get on the phone with my insurance company to see if there's other options for towing as these neanderthal miscreants I'm dealing with at AutoWorks Towing and Recovery are failiing miserably. After some time ( around 8:50 pm) the tow truck driver shows up and gives me some story about being in the hospital that day, ok..if it's true why would this company force their employees to work while sick? Terrible. He backs up the tow truck and picks up the front wheels with the wheel lift, and does not chain or secure the vehicle in any other way. Furthermore, the tow truck driver travels at speeds exceeding the speed limit, making it hard for us to keep up with him as we know where we are going to have to guide him to our rural address. I called my insurance company to complain about this terrible company that they are using for their roadside assistance, because the gross incompetence and sheer lack of customer service needs to be addressed. I attempted to call the next day to talk to a manager about the poor service I received that night and I was informed that the lovely Terry WAS the manager. You can imagine the disappointment as I had expected to speak with someone professional, someone with authority, someone who might have a clue...but alas..Terry was the best they had. I requested to leave my number so that maybe someone who oversees Terry, like the business owner perhaps...might just call me back if they actually gave a damn about how they treat their customers. He had picked up to more tows and would get to FT Walton when he was ready. Arrived sometime after 6 when the. repair place had closed. Could have cared lessed that he had our house keys with him. This place deserves 0 stars they are so bad! We paid a large sum of money to have our vehicle towed and taken to a dealership. The dealership called and notified us 3 hours later that they had just arrived when the distance was only 35 min max. The manager was very unprofessional when asked about the situation and could not provide an explanation for what occurred and did not apologize once. After speaking to the driver it was revealed dispatch sent them to about 8 other locations before allowing the driver to drop off the truck. You would think for the amount of money they charge the truck would be handled in a professional manner but was not. This company has very poor management and is only out for the money. read more

They do not show up within their ETA and then if you call they will tell you or your insurance company it will take an additional hour. I scheduled a tow for Saturday morning late Friday afternoon through my insurance company, USAA. I was told the towing company would call me between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., as I needed my vehicle delivered to the dealership before it closed at noon. I called USAA at 9 a.m. to tell them no driver and no call so far, and was told they'd contact the service and call me back. The tow truck finally showed up - with no call - at 9:25 and left with my vehicle just before 10 a.m. I spoke to the service manager at the dealership as my car left, and he said he'd call me back before they closed at noon to give me the word on what needed repair. When I hadn't heard back from him at 11:50 a.m., I called and was told my car still hadn't arrived at the dealership. Their location is only 20-25 minutes from my house, so I was not happy. I called USAA to find out what the story was, and they called me back 5 minutes later, saying the gal at the tow company office had spoken to the driver and that he would drop off the car in ten minutes. I was given no explanation why the trip had taken 2 hours. At 12:30 the service manager called to say the car had still not arrived and that he was closing up the shop. He did his best to reassure me not to worry and said he would call first thing Monday morning to give me a diagnosis on the car. Called USAA back for another update and also got the phone number for the tow company. When I called them I was routed directly to voice mail and the message "We're sorry, no one is available to take your call," and was disconnected. USAA called back a few minutes later and reported they were told the car would arrive in 10-15 minutes. At 1:00 p.m. I finally reached Kristen at the tow company, who told me my car would be at the dealership in 10-15 minutes, and said the delay was due to the driver having "a blowout". I didn't pursue whether she meant him personally or his tow truck and finally drove over the dealership myself at just after 2:00 p.m. to see that the car was there. It was. Since I went through my insurance company I didn't choose these clowns for the service, but I let USAA know later how ticked off I was about the runaround and BS from the tow company. If I ever need a tow again I will be sure to let USAA know NOT to use these morons. So if you also happen to be a USAA customer, I'd avise you to do the same. I had a dead battery in my truck. With 2 batteries on a diesel (both not taking a charge from the booster box) & truck pulled head first into a narrow driveway (couldn't jump with another car), I needed a solution. Bobby with AutoWorks came up with one. He gently lifted the back of my truck with his high speed tow, pulled it out far enough to then pull his truck around & use his battery to jump. It was just enough to get that beast turned over and now I'm off to get new batteries. Bobby was polite, professional and most of all he was committed to finding a solution rather than just showing up (knowing the bill was already paid by my roadside service). Also, the business kept me updated via text of the likely arrival time (which was accurate) and Bobby followed up with a call after leaving to suggest I have the auto store check my starter too. I would be very careful of this towing company. They charge you for service they haven't done .they will, give you an excuse why they haven't it done job they say there going to do . Worst yet they will tell you that are there to pick up your car but never picked up it , they won't call you to let you know they didn't pick up your car .they will charge you for it . When ask to speak a manger , they tell you he will call you back , never calls . No one ever knows what going . This company will give you every excuse and sad story . But also charge for it for service that they didn't . But if you park somewhere , where you shouldn't park I'm sure they will be happy to tow your car and impounded and charge you nice fat fee . Whatever the ETA they give you is, that's when the truck will not arrive. This week, I waited 5-6 hours, then finally canceled. The original ETA was 2 hours. I called after about 2.5 hours and was told "45 minutes." A good bit after that time had passed, I called again, again to be told "45 minutes." That's when I canceled. This is the second time in the past 6 months I've waited and waited on these people. The first time, they finally showed up. This time, I gave up. I don't mind being told that it will be "5 hours" if they show up when they say they will. But don't keep feeding me garbage. read more

They over charged for a 2.5 mile tow, $277.00. Highway robbery. they came with a truck that could not lift a cargo container weighing about 6000 pounds, I had to help them and use my cargo straps to tie down. the truck was in a rear end collision and had a hole in the tire. do not use , equipment unsafe for road travel. read more

My daughter's car needing towing for some mechanical issues. We called AT&T roadside assistance and they connected her with AutoWorks Towing. They quoted her 90 mins. That time came and went when finally a tow truck arrived just to leave without a word. She called back and they never gave a reason why and just sent another tow truck and quoted again another 90 mins. That time came and went when my daughter called and they told her that the car was being "hooked up" when they weren't actually there yet. They finally arrived with no apology and only asked "what's wrong with the car?", hooked the car up and left. The guy didn't even know where he was supposed to take it even though my daughter provided the address and everything as to where her car needed to go. Thank God she wasn't stranded on the side of the road because all said and done it was over 6 hrs from the first call until they actually arrived. This has to be the most unprofessional and incompetent company I have ever dealt with. AT&T will be getting a call to let them know they need to not recommend this company. read more

This company is HORRIBLE! I contacted them at 2:20pm. They are located about 20 minutes from me. They text me saying they will arrive in 90 minutes. Then they call me and say it will only be an hour. 90 minutes go by and no sign of them. I phone them back and they apologize and say it will be another 45 minutes. An hour goes by and no sign of them. I phone them back again and they apologize again and say it will be another 45 minutes. At 5:45pm I phone them asking what the heck is going on??? I can barely hear the new operator who has an infant sitting in her lap screaming and crying and she tells me she just came on shift and that the truck is only 4 miles out and the driver will be calling me in just a few minutes and will be here shortly. It is now 6:15pm and no one has shown up or called me. I had to make other arrangements with another Tow Company, as this is unbelievable and unacceptable! read more
