This is my second time using Brian and AutoZipper. There's a reason I came back :) For our first move, we moved two cars from Northern VA to Southern CA. Everything was perfect and he picked up when he said he would and dropped off exactly when he said he would. I used him 6 years later for our move back to the east coast (this time to NC) and again everything worked out great. I prefer working with Brian, but I know there are other people in the office. He is super responsive whether it's text or a phone call and that is huge for me. Nothing bugs me more than silence and ignoring phone calls. Cars both made it here. We staggered the send time and our first car made it there so fast we were shocked. I think only 4 days. The second car took exactly a week which is reasonable. Of all the processes and services that we went through including buying a house, arranging a cargo container, home insurance, utilities, etc., working with Michelle at auto zipper was BY FAR the pet I felt the most trust, when I felt I was in very good hands. I spent a long time looking at different shipping options when I needed to move my car from Orange County to Austin. I chose Brian and Autozipper because of all the fantastic reviews - they were slightly more expensive than the competition, but it's worth every cent to get good service and someone who looks after your car! Brian was in touch constantly and was extremely patient with us whilst we changed our mind (repeatedly) over what date and what truck would suit us best for the car to go on (sorry Brian). The communication was perfect. The driver called us when he was on the way. Having read some horror stories (from general car shipping stories), I was worried leaving some things in the car, but the driver who collected our car drove it the whole way - he didn't hand the car off to anyone else, and none of our belongings were missing when the car was delivered! We had 1 small issue - I was hesitant to put it in the review but I wanted to because Brian went above and beyond to get it sorted for us. We were told by Brian, in no uncertain terms, that we should confirm the condition of the car with the driver both when the car is picked up and dropped off. Unfortunately we couldn't be with the car when it was dropped off, so asked someone from the leasing office of our new home to take delivery of the car. However, no-one checked the car on delivery, and when we arrived in Austin, we noticed 2 small tears in the roof of the convertible. I knew we were likely out of luck - we had taken delivery without any complaints and now we were reporting a problem. However, Brian went out of his way to fix the issue for us - again, his communication was flawless and he worked with the shipper to give us some compensation. The shipper didn't need to give us anything - they had every right to reject our claim - they paid us compensation thanks to Brian. When Brian called to tell us about the compensation, he offered to match the compensation offered by the shipper - everything Brian did to help us was totally above and beyond what he needed to, and we appreciate it so much. I don't think Brian takes a break, he's always available (I think he should take a vacation). I am so grateful to Brian for everything - if I ever need to ship my car again, or need to give any recommendations, it would be for Brian. He makes the process of shipping a car very clear and stress-free. The issue we had is rare, and unfortunate. However, if we had followed instructions and had the car checked on delivery, we would have been covered by insurance. I am pretty delayed in writing my rave reviews of Brian and his company. But he's so good that, after so much time had passed, it STILL popped into my head suddenly as I was looking something up on Yelp that I NEEDED to come back to write a review for him. I moved from San Diego to New York last year. Though I initially had no plans to bring my car out, my fiance' got a job in Long Island. His 2006 Honda Civic was on its last legs, and we finally decided to bring Sandy (my treasured 2009 RAV4) to Manhattan. After a horrible experience with a different car transport company who never called us when they said they would, promised a pick-up in a certain time frame and never showed up, charged our credit card three times even though they said they wouldn't until the car was picked up, I WAS DONE. After my initial blind infuriation, I collected myself and did some heavy research. After combing reviews on Yelp, I decided it was too overwhelming...as we all know, some companies give you rewards or discounts for five star reviews, and it's so hard to tease it all out. I went straight to the Better Business Bureau website to cross-reference the San Diego/Southern California car shipping companies that received the highest Yelp ratings. I was able to narrow it down to maybe ?3 companies that were accredited by the BBB. It was a tiny number. I called 2 of them, and am SO GLAD AutoZipper was one of them. The other company I called was really aggressive. I am not inclined to give my business to people just because they are aggressive. Brian emailed me back immediately when I requested a quote, and the next day I was able to talk to him on the phone. He won me over. He was genuine and kind. I was so reassured when he gave me his direct cell phone number and said I could call him anytime (including weekends) to receive updates. Of course, I never actually called him at odd hours, but it was so amazing that he offered. What a sigh of relief after not being able to reach the other company even on WEEKDAYS. Brian himself reached out on nights and weekends when needed!! He asked me a lot of questions about when I'd like to get my car, how quickly it had to be done, and what dates were available for pickup. He was also very honest about the fact that you can never guarantee any dates, which makes sense given all of the variables. He has to post the job to the national network of drivers, and then drivers have to respond to the job. Then, they can give an estimated time frame for pickup and drop off, but you can never pinpoint how the weather and traffic will be. However, given how many things Brian had to balance, he was SO communicative that it felt like he basically pinned everything down to the minute, rather than leaving me wondering what was going on. I never had to chase Brian down. He called me regularly to check in with me, even if it was just to tell me that he was still working on getting a driver. Once he found out that I wasn't in a hurry, he asked my permission to be picky regarding which drivers he went with. I was more than happy for him to do so. All of a sudden, something came up (big family emergency) and I had to return to California, use my car, then delay the date of pickup to get my car smog-checked and registered. My fiance' was so certain that Brian would charge me for all the trouble of changing everything last-minute. Of course not! As usual, I reached Brian right away. He was immediately understanding, and told me to just let me know approximately when I was going to get it done so that he could plan. Anyway. To make a long story short, Brian picked an amazing driver. They both communicated with me extensively. They delivered the car 3 days ahead of the projected schedule. The driver even waited several hours past when my fiance and I said we would arrive to the pickup location because of unexpected work/traffic patterns. Then, later that night, Brian checked in with me via text to ask if it went okay! One would think: I paid the quoted amount, and the deal was done, but Brian still cared enough to ask how it went. Brian did not pressure me to write a review. This is really amazing (I've used a lot of services in many parts of the country, and even really good companies still try to give you little things here and there like discounts or gift cards so that you'll give them positive reviews). So, I can just attest- all of those reviews you are reading are NOT fake, and no one incentivized us to write them. Bottom line: 1) Do your own research. Look at the BBB ratings. Brian is accredited and has an A+ rating. 2) Even if you're not sure, ask for a BUNCH of quotes from everyone. Then, think about how much your time and peace of mind are worth. Think about whether or not going with the rock-bottom cheapest company is worth it to ship cargo that is worth several thousand dollars. Brian quoted me a reasonable price.
