Writing this on behalf of my mother who is a little tech challenged but found it important to share! Today I had the pleasure of meeting Miguel Ruiz. Miguel works at Auto Zone on Date Palm in Cathedral City. I needed a new taillight bulb. I was having difficulty finding the store so I called. He was very helpful in directing me to the store. When I arrived I thanked him for his directions. He teased me that he was going to come look for me if I didn't show up soon. :) We chit-chatted about buffets and restaurants at the casinos. I knew the part that I needed and located it quickly. I told him that I knew how to replace it but wasn't strong enough to do it. He offered to do it for me. He definitely knew how to do it as he was finished in just a few minutes. I tried to pay him but he refused to take it. Auto Zone is very fortunate to have him as part of their team. He truly brightened my day. The world needs more people like Miguel! My car has had a few problems. My car was having battery issues and Mike L., the Parts Sales Manager, at the store in Cathedral City, tested my battery, found it was not working properly, and showed me what battery I needed and installed it for me. Being a woman, I had no idea how to install a battery. I always freak out when my car isn't running because I need it to get to work. However, Mike eased my mind, calmed me right down and made me feel comfortable right out the gate. He was professional, personable and very knowledgable. He fixed the problem and he noticed that one of my windshield wipers was hanging on by a thread. So he found the right wipers and installed them for me. As well. I definitely will be coming back to that store for any issues in the future. Mike is very helpful and I would highly recommend him for your auto parts needs. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at AutoZone, Cathedral City. I went in and picked up my product off the shelf and went to the pay counter. I stood there for 10 minutes and the entire time that was in the store I did not get one word from any employee. I stood at the counter and waited, there were 3 employees stocking shelves, 2 behind the service counter and 2 working the back stockroom walking by the register. The fellow that walked in a few minutes after me got service right away. Not a word from an employee saying that they would be with me in a few minutes. I operate 4 companies and I would never treat a customer this way because I would not be in business. I have been going to that store for 18 years, including their previous location. Nice that that there is an O'Reily across the street. read more

Five star for customer service for this location. I walked in with a question regarding my rear break light bulb and was immediately greeted. The guy who helped me was outstanding. He walked with me outside to my vehicle, explained what was needed, I then made the purchase. Not only was he nice, he walked outside with me again, help me change the rear break light bulb and gave me some tips on what to do next time. My car was making some terrible noises, first stopped at pepboys by accident, but i walked in and nobody was there like not at all, it was 8 in the morning but still there was dust on some of the shelves. i left soon after because it was a total ghost town and i didnt feel welcomed .... auto zone was much nicer and cleaner. read more

Having issue with the truck... slow turn-over of motor. Took the Starter into AutoZone... they placed it on a machine for testing and said it was sluggish and should be replaced. Installed it and it was NOT the issue. They also sold me a new battery cable for the truck... said they are universal... turned out to be the wrong cable. Took cable back from a full refund. Starter is installed so can't take that back. Bad information from AutoZone... won't go there ever again. Starting problem turned out to be battery... purchased a new one from Costco.... corrected the problem. read more

The Cathedral City Autozone staff is entirely incompetent, unfriendly, and generally unhelpful. The manager doesn't know what Autozone's policy is as far as online orders and was completely unwilling to to learn it, or even entertain the idea that he may be wrong. I have double checked to make sure that I am in the right, and I am, and have wasted a lot of time and fuel dealing with the problem that should've been simple to fix..... if you have to go to an Autozone in the area, go to the Palm Springs location read more
