We had an issue with the small 12v 'starting' battery in our new Solterra, straight off the lot at Hello Subaru Temecula. After 3 visits (4 hour roundtrip) and showing the head mechanic my onsite loadtest, Subaru Temecula still refused to replace it. One visit to PS Subaru and they popped in the new battery, no charge, with a smile. I wanted to give PS Subaru more business so I have tried two times to get a price on a new moonroof, both at the dealer, through the phone and through email. Even the service manager would not get back to me. So 4 stars. And Subaru of America would not help to get Temecula to replace the bad battery they gave us when we got the car. First of all, the service department at this dealership was efficient and helpful. They gave us a price break and only charged $1400 for a head unit replacement. However, I gave them a one star rating because the part that was replaced should have been compensated by the Subaru company. The head unit (deemed an 'accessory' by the regional office) provides access to the radio, apps, bluetooth, maps, backup camera, and any other setting used by the onboard computer (i.e. NOT an accessory). There is a known problem with this Harmon Kardon head unit, and Subaru extended the warranty for cars with this unit. However, our problems with our 2018 auto did not occur until 6 months ago. The problems were so severe that the backup camera did not work correctly, the maps could not be used, the bluetooth could not be used, the apps could not be used, and the radio access was sporadic. In addition, the head unit would periodically, by itself - initiate calls, call in crashes for Google maps, try to make reservations, and rotate radio stations repeatedly (when the radio was working). I would not buy a Subaru again. read more

I've had a GREAT experience at Palm Springs Subaru...multiple times. Around six visits total. I have a 2015 Outback Limited. I LOVE my car. I'm out and about all over the place with it. At 105,000 miles a bearing in the transmission went bad. It was making an awful howling noise. (I did the 60,000 mile CVT fluid service at Subaru in Sherman Oaks. So, I was on top of the maintence.) Well, a new CVT is $8000!!!!!!!! WTF?!?!?!?!? I was soooo bummed...to say the least. I baby this car and am BEYOND up to date on all of my scheduled maintenance items. Not to mention anything else. I only use Subaru OEM. Anyway, I had the car towed to Palm Springs Subaru. Donny in service and Stacey the service manager were amazing! They reached out to Subaru Corporate and got my transmission replaced for free!! I had to pay $1000 for the installation otherwise the CVT came to me at no cost!! Yes I am happy and thankful!! Otherwise I have been to Palm Springs Subaru for other service and maintenance items and have been very happy with every single visit. I am based in Los Angeles and have had less than favorable experiences with Subaru in Sherman Oaks and Subaru in Santa Monica. My mom lives in the desert so I coordinate my trips out there with any service needs at Palm Springs Subaru. I've found their prices to be reasonable. Less expensive than Los Angeles! I was early but they didn't care. My sales consultant was CSABA NAGY. I put that in capital letters because he is awesome! Not once did he pressure me or try to steer me a certain way. Very low-key and definitely knew about the car I wanted. We did all the usual paperwork, etc. etc. and I came back the next day to get my car. He explained all the computer stuff in it with great knowledge. I wish I was that smart! Also,I would like to commend the woman in the financing department. I did not finance my car, I paid cash, but I still had to do all the paperwork. She was very thorough and got it completed in a timely manner. So I just bought brand new tires. And I have a tire sticker in my window along with the oil sticker. For some unknown reason, they decided to discard both stickers and then couldn't remember where they placed it. For senior citizen it's really handy to have the date And the tire pressure on the windshield. As I don't drive very many miles. I will need to replace the tires before they wear out. So it's imperative that I have the sticker. There's no reason at all for them to throw that away. Zero stars. read more

I love Subaru vehicles, this Palm Springs location on the other hand, has always been the most difficult to deal with in regards to being spoken over while trying to explain issues with my vehicle, being spoken rudely to, even being transferred or hung up on mid sentence. I asked to speak to a supervisor or service manager and never received a response. This is the worst customer service I've ever had an experience with. Best service ever! We were at the tail end of our mini vacation in Palm Springs when we got in a minor accident. Brushed it off as a fender bender until all my warning lights turned on. Brought my vehicle in and we got assisted immediately by Alyssa. While we were waiting, a nice gentleman chatted with us and even brought out some waters. Eventually, Alyssa broke the news that my car was practically un-drivable. She explained everything to us thoroughly and went above and beyond to make sure we can get home safely. They are not pushy and no pressure to purchase. The salesperson was extremely knowledgeable and responsible Most importantly, he was very honest. Great follow-up even after I took possession of the new Subaru. Wish I purchased my prior car from Subaru of Palm Springs. The only challenge I had was a slight mix-up with their promise of a free gas card. They promised a $25 gas card if I bring the car back to go over the technology. Turns out that you don't get a gas card but rather an email to a link to a catalogue of gifts to choose from. Haven't gotten the email yet. Don't know what's in the catalogue. I'd prefer a gas card. It was a big repair and I was treated with so much understanding and patience... AND it ended up costing me a little less than anticipated! I leased a Subaru from the dealership in Glendale CA 3 years ago. Now my lease is up, but I live here in Palm Springs, so I went to the local dealer to buy out my lease. I already had my loan approval. However there was confusion if the title of the car was held by JP Morgan Chase (the lease finance company) or a subsidiary called Subaru Motors Finance. All I needed to know was who to make the check payable too. The dealership refused to answer my question. Flat out said they would not tell me who holds the title. They said that they can do the paperwork for me but it costs $800. Then told me they were doing me a favor and most places charge $1,000. They claimed this included the cars "taxes and registration". What???? It's a lease. I've been registering it for the last 3 years in my name. And you don't even know what the registration cost is, so how can you apply a fixed cost of $800 if you don't know if my registration is $347 or if it's $419. They said there's no other way to do it, the banks can't do it without them, and I have to pay this fee. (This is all a lie) But then they said that really, it's a much better deal for me if I just go ahead and buy a $2,000 warranty. It was so sleazy I just got up and left. I called up chase auto financing, asked them who to make the check payable to (Subaru Motors Financing) and was done with it. Guess what the fee was? $0. I love my Subaru. I'll drive it until the wheels fall off. I think it's one of the best cars on the market. But you should literally buy it anywhere other than here. To be fair - I wasn't pumped about the Glendale location either, but it was the middle of the pandemic and everything was weird. Personally, I would avoid the Palm Springs Location at all costs. read more
