Yesterday, now that I had a chance to inspect myself, it took me ninety seconds to find the separation between my drive shaft and differential. He stands by his service, feels that his inability to identify the obvious mechanical failure is worth $135, and refuses a refund thereof. He even stated that this is a very rare issue, yet it took me thirty seconds to discover that there was a recall for this. Somehow this guy considered himself a professional. Far from it. Piss poor standards, to say the least, and piss poor customer service on top of that. That'll teach me to vet a privately owned businesses before I put any trust in them. And they charged $100-$150 charge just to drive in the door. So I found Mike's Mobile Service on Yelp. I called. He was patient, didn't act rushed, answered all questions, was polite and friendly, and said "let me earn your business." So I thought hell let me give this guy a shot. They fixed the car, didn't charge me $150 just to get in the door, and ran a free diagnostic the dealerships charges for. They even went out of their way to squeeze my car into their busy schedule. While I realize that's not always possible, I really appreciated it. My total was $250--half of Ford dealership's cost (I checked.). Several days later the car is running great. MIKE called my wife to make sure everything is OK. He even told her the story about their shop Kitty, Nitro. A baby kitten stuck in a transmission they found then bottle-fed back to health. A cute little cat running around the shop who was just a bundle of joy--animal lovers always go to the top of my list. People that have a heart for animals and their customers, in my opinion, are going to make sure to do good work on a vehicle!
