I recently ordered a new camper shell for my new GMC AT4HD and couldn't be happier. The Leer shell arrived a little ahead of schedule snd was painter perfectly. We discussed different brand shells and I went with Mitch's suggestion. The options were properly installed and finished quickly. They can pretty much get anything for your truck and are priced competitively even when I priced way out of the City. read more

Big shoutout to Derek today. He was able to squeeze me in same day to get a 3rd brake light wired onto my camper shell. Also, they were able to fix an issue with my camper shell rear window not being able to latch or lock. Lastly, I was able to purchase a Thule roof rack for a very reasonable price and have it installed. Really appreciated these guys & would definitely come back in the future. I gotta say...Mitch and crew get 5 stars just for their impeccable customer service. Sad to say but it's a dying breed nowadays. People forget it's part of running a successful business. Stopped by on a routine day and was greeted upon entry. Mitch asked how he can help me. Simply told him that I needed a trailer brake control. He told me what I needed but said the harness required wasn't in stock but he could order it. He got it ordered and called me when it arrived. Installed the next day. Mitch gave me a really good deal on my Leer camper and the options I wanted. In fact it was several hundreds less than a place close to me and other parts of the Bay Area. Although I had to go back to reseal the camper since Tacoma's are known to leak near the edges near the cab side, the guys at Bay Truck held their end of the deal and fixed it . 3 parts to this 5 stars... 1. The price I was quoted for my Leer camper 2. I experienced great customer service 3. Their lobby. I was at least entertained with their Cable TV while waiting for my camper installation. The only thing missing really was Wifi. read more

Great service, selection and price. Mitch and Derek were great to work with and got my order and install done without any issues. I ordered Amp Research sidesteps for my 2016 Ram 1500 Crew Cab EcoDiesel. Derek got them ordered with just a phone call and set up a Saturday appointment with Mitch and his crew. Install was a few hours and gave me enough time to enjoy lunch at 7 Mile Restaurant across the street. Mitch was knowledgeable and definitely confirmed that I had made the right choice of sidesteps for my truck. The finished look of the Amp Research sidesteps was excellent. The install crew did a great job. I left Bay Truck Accessories feeling that I had made a good choice in taking my truck to a company that stands behind their work, the products they install and does great work. A number of years ago, Bay Truck installed a Roll N Lock cover along with Thule Trac Rac on my then 2008 Dodge 2500. Have owned cars since truck was sold but recently purchased 2019 Ram 1500 and took it into Bay Truck to see if earlier purchase could be replicated. Via photos I showed him of the Dodge 2500, Mitch understood what was done then & what was available now. In other words, no problem. Worked up estimate, accepted & appointment made for installation. I have been going to Bay Truck accessories for years and have had rack, hitch, brake controller, tow bar, etc. installations for years and they've never ever failed to do the job right. It's been over ten years and more than eight various vehicles ranging from pickup trucks, minivans, trailers and motor homes and nothing has stumped these experts. As for those who went there once and put out nasty reviews, you're out of line. Anyone can have a bad day and these guys aren't immune to that. There can be supplier delays, a customer before you demands more work, guys calling in sick or whatever real life situations come up and the Bay Truck folks still bust their asses. I stand by these guys' work because not only is the work and service stellar, these are real hard working people who try real hard to please their customers. I started out being a customer over ten years ago and progressively, with every visit they've become partners in every project I bring in. The most recent job I brought in, the supplier fouled up the order and Bay Truck had to order a different unit and brand, cost them more and with the whole installation, they were upside down on the financials. But they stood by their quote and got the job done. Yes, the project was delayed, but it was the supplier that caused it and these guys raised hell on my behalf. Anyway, I hope that helps future customers determine who they go to next when they are searching for services. This is a small shop that has been run and employs the same people for years, truly a great small business example of ordinary folks trying their best. I've been in the Automotive industry in the Bay Area for approximately 15-16 years. In that time I've come to trust Mitch @ Bay Truck Accessories as my "go to guy" for truck accessories. He's always helped me to help my customers and has always given me solid truck insight and advice. When my Father in Law bought a new truck and wanted a shell; It was a " no brainer" who we should call. Mitch helped me decide style and also helped to choose practical and functional accessories that pops would need for his new work truck. (Shell configuration and Shape as well as a sturdy Yakima rack for the shell.) I won't lie. I waited until the truck was home and I crawled all over and under the truck. I'm a picky guy and I look out for my family and their cars. I checked the seals. I checked the shell. The installation of the shell and the roof rack. I checked the wiring harness kit from its start to it's end. I found nothing that I'd take exception to. The product was exactly what was agreed upon. These guys are amazing!!! They charge reasonable price and have a fast turnaround. I needed a hitch put on my Subaru forester and the dealer wanted, I don't joke, $1,300. Bay Truck did it all for under $500 and they were exceptionally polite and fast. I can't recommend them more highly. read more

I emailed Bay Truck Accessories on12/8/2020 asking for recommendations for a tonneau cover for my 2021 Toyota Tacoma Nightshade. Mitch from BAT replied with no suggestions instead the reply read "your best bet is to come on in". So I stopped by the store on 12/11/2020. The guy behind the counter took my name and phone number promising to get back to me with a list of tonneau recommendations to fit my needs. He never called back. That's bad customer service! I assume he didn't call me back because I wasn't wearing my camo vest when I stopped by their shop. However, I did find what I needed at two online stores: RealTruck (Go Rhino RB10 steps) and RHRSwag (Leer HF650M tonneau) and their prices are super affordable! read more

Bay Truck was recommended to me by a local auto shop called Don's Auto Shop in outer Richmond district. Took a week to schedule an appointment, but was worth the wait. Setting up an appointment was as easy as 1-2-3. Quoted me over the phone for the 1.25" Curtis hitch install to my BMW 428i coupe. Dropped my car off in the AM with a knowledgeable gentleman at the counter and off I went to work. Car was ready a couple hours before their close. Another gentleman (tall slender - glasses - salt/pepper hair) rang me up. Very professional and we chitchatted about my car a bit. He offered to show me how to operate the hitch along with my 1UpUSA bike rack, but I volunteered to skip the intro. That was a nice touch to ask the customer this. Bonus points for installing my bike rack! Their price was 2.5x cheaper than another shop on 3rd and Folsom. Pricing is reasonable. All my sensors and lights work. However, a couple sliver of details was overlooked. An internal flap inside my trunk wasn't flush and neither was the right side of bumper. I fixed both easily. Nothing bad, just some attention to detail. A solid job! These guys know what they're doing! Will definitely come back for all hitch and truck needs! Recommended! Thanks! read more

Every time I stroll into bay Truck Accessories, I have a specific need, but then I open my mouth in an attempt to sound competent and truck-savvy and pure gibberish comes out. I have to use a lot of sign language and whatchamacallit-ese in order to get across what I want. Thank God Derek and Mitch are not just really good at what they do, but they know how to head off idiots like me at the pass. Saves a lot of time. Seriously, these guys know their business. I've gotten plenty of work done to all my trucks, and all my questions get answered. If they don't specialize in a certain kind of work, they will gladly and confidently refer you to some other business that knows their beeswax just as well! I wanted a hitch installed on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Track and checked out Yelp before I called anyone. All my contact was through Mitch. Mitch stuck by the quote given over the phone. Aside from a very minor hiccup with parts delivery (late delivery, not their fault) I am satisfied with the installation. I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time and paid what I considered to be a fair price. My only concern was that they had to cut two aftermarket exhaust hangers to get the hitch to fit leaving me with my tail pipes hanging. This meant having to go to a muffler shop and have new hangers installed on the exhaust. NOT THEIR FAULT. PO installed aftermarket exhaust that wasn't compatible with the hitch. There was no way they could have known about any of it til they had the vehicle. The installer tried everything he could to get the hitch to fit without modifying anything so they went above and beyond and didn't charge me any extra. A side note here; I saw a PG&E service vehicle getting what appeared to be a rather extensive install done while I was there. Now forget what you may hear about the utility company. I've managed fleet vehicles and know a thing or two about getting your money$ worth so I figure if a PG&E fleet manager goes to these guys? That's a big plus for Bay Truck. read more

Amount charged changed from the original quote. I was early and sat and waited then at 3 when my appoinment was they annouced over the over head a client was here for an installation. They promised me a full trailer hitch with electrical when I was quoted, but once they found out it was for a bicycle rack they did not do the electrical and there was no discount and was not advised of it until after completion of the job. My advise look else where. read more

Service advisor started out with roughly $2,200 of recommended services. (Eg fluid flushes, cabin air filter, coolant and inverter coolant services, wiper blade replacement, fuel system conditioner, brake fluid service, throttle bottle cleaning, engine crankcase cleaning, tire balancing/alignment). I declined/deferred nearly all of those but still ended up with roughly $220 of work pending for an oil change and inspection. Three weeks ago I had seen a coupon for a $19.99 oil change which is why I made the appointment. (I called 2 weeks ago, shortly after making the appointment to confirm that the coupon would be honored, and the lady on the phone said it would be.) But today's "service advisor" basically tried to tell me that no such coupon existed. He said maybe sometimes there's a coupon for a ~$80 oil change but never $20. It was baffling. He went and asked the manager about this and they said the offer is issued by a third party, not generally published, and must be presented at the time when service order is written. And that supposedly they can't look up whether my VIN is one of those eligible for the coupon? (Sus!!) After a few minutes I dug through my inbox and found it: the exact offer targeted at my VIN. After producing the coupon, I had to forward it to the service advisor, and only then they honored the price of the oil change. The advisor was seemingly frustrated with me and got rid of all the other optional maintenance services without me even asking. I walked out paying $24 for the oil change and multipoint inspection, which was a good deal. They probably did this service for me at a loss, for which I am grateful. Later I learned that these service advisors earn commission, so no wonder their incentive is to get you to perform as much work as you're willing to pay for. If you want the bare minimum, make sure you come prepared to assert your coupon up-front. You should probably even print the email and be prepared to forward it on. For this promotion, they are seemingly targeting cars that haven't been in for service for a long while that have recently lapsed Toyota care. I remarked to the service advisor that all he had to have done is tell me to search my email for it, and it would have been easier. He got offended at my suggestion. ¯\_(°ペ)_/¯ The whole interaction felt like an attempted bait-and-switch. If you want to check to see if you're eligible for the coupon. The phrase to search your email for is WE WANT YOU BACK AT CITY TOYOTA. The promotion comes from an email address ending in zonicdesign.com I anticipate Toyota will try to have this Yelp review suppressed so that other people don't find it.

I dropped by to get a quote for some preventative maintenance that I was getting done on my Honda Odyssey EXL minivan. I had printed out the things I wanted done mainly because I had just acquired the vehicle several months earlier and in reviewing its history of maintenance by the previous owners I saw there were some things that needed to be done that had never been done. So I made a list of having the timing belt replace the serpentine belt replace the water pump replaced the rollers and tensioners for both the serpentine belt and the timing belts replaced. So when I dropped in with the list they very nicely offered to give me the cost and contact me with the total. I explained to them that I was retired on social security so I really did need to know what the out the door amount would be for just having those specific things replaced. Not too long later that day I got a text as I had requested of the complete total out the door and it was quite reasonable. Anyway a few weeks later I made the appointment for the preventative maintenance just the week before when I was going to bring it by. The service was excellent and I will tell you one of the most wonderful things about this place is you step inside their repair facility and it's like stepping into the family owned repair garages that I knew when I was a kid and a young fellow. They are far and few between nowadays and it was wonderful to actually find this one. This one's definitely a keeper and I just wanted to share with all of you my positive experience and responsive and excellent quality work that they did on my vehicle.

Then I put glass over the top. I had it like that for 20 years. It wasn't ok, but first the glass cracked and when I tried to remove it, it stuck to the paint and wrecked the surface. Plus being near a window, there was much sun damage. So I took it to Boris and he worked his magic, restoring it to its original walnut finish. I simply cannot believe how beautiful it is.
