So this morning my hubby took my 2012 RAV4 for an oil change because my engine light went on & we knew we were due & we also asked the shop that did it to give us a quote to fix my back bumper that was damaged (my fault! ). So I was going home from an event when I noticed my engine light was still on so I stopped at the Autozone at Cave Creek & Bell Rd to get an analysis. When I got out of my car I also noticed that my back bumper was separated a little from the fender, it wasn't like that before that shop worked on it. The young man that did the analysis was Sean, he was very nice & knowledgeable. He showed me that nothing was coming up on the report. I mentioned to him that the shop my husband took my car to was new to us, and wondered if they did a complete job. He immediately offered to check out the oil & filter to make sure it was done right, so we went back outside & he did just that! I mentioned that I even noticed my bumper was separated & I was concerned of taking it thru the car wash for fear it would fall off, SO he looked at that too & low & behold he gave it a few whacks & popped it back in!! I KNOW this is long BUT Sean went above & beyond just doing the analysis!! WOW!! Thank you Sean!! This is why anytime I need something for my car, this is where I will shop!! When I meet young men like this (I'm retired age) I tell myself, his parent(s) did a great job raising him!! Great customer service skills for sure!! Had an issue with the start up of my 2007 Scion tc while on the way to work. Stopped in not 100% sure what the problem was. JASON was quick to get outside and check the battery first and sure enough it was a dying battery. We went back inside and he showed me the options he had available. I picked the one with a pice that fit me best and with a warranty. He got my account linked and battery swapped very quickly and added in some extras to help the battery last longer. Came in to purchase a new battery and the staff here was amazing. They made sure I had all the necessary tools and even offered to help, if needed. They were incredibly professional towards myself and all the other customers in the store that evening. My only gripe: there were some customers entering the store without masks, and apparently, the corporate office doesn't support their employees to instruct those customers to wear a mask. This is dumb. It's a state-ordered mandate to wear a mask. This complacency only puts all the other customers at risk. Again, this is at no fault of the actual employees of the store. There's nothing worse on a hot day then that funny clicking noise you get when your battery doesn't turn over. Since it was purchased at AutoZone a few years ago, off we went--dead battery and receipt. We were greeted pleasantly and a clerk grabbed a tester and went outside. Dead! Dead! Dead! Horrible customer service! I went in to have my sons battery exchanged & with all the male employees standing around doing nothing! No one would help me carry in the battery let alone carry it out or even help me with the door. These guys were very rude! I'm 5'2 105lbs & not one of these guys would help me. Not only was that an issue but the warranty for the battery only gave me a small discount. According to the clerk. If you get a bad battery then your only allowed to exchange it 1 time. Anymore than that & it's only prorated or a small discount. We got the battery 8/12/12. It was suppose to have a 2 year warranty! 1. Bad Customer Service 2. No Help from any employees 3. Went in to Batteries Plus to get my Optima battery checked on my (new to me) auto. Tech told me the battery was bad. Tech no longer recommends Optima but that the house brand is better. I passed and went over to Auto Zone across the street. Auto Zone tech told me that the battery was good, was less than 2 years old and only needed a recharge. They also offered to check my alternator and charge the battery. All for no fee. In conclusion...Batteries Plus will rip off your grandma. Auto Zone gives good service. read more

I have shopped at this Auto Zone for over 10 years. Today I went in to purchase windshield wipers. The original staff member treated me in a disrespectful manner and as if I was a waster of his time. He even past me off to one of the Managers (very smart man, I have to say). That Manager listened to my concerns (which I was already fired up from an earlier horrible encounter elsewhere) and acknowledged my feelings in a caring and professional manner. Once the Manager finalized my purchase needs, he immediately pulled another Manager to the side to discuss the situation. For me that is what matters. A lot of people complain to get free items. I don't, I complain for education so I don't have to experience the same thing again and so no one else has to experience it. With good Managers like this Auto Zone has, I think I will continue shopping at this one for another decade (as long as they keep this quality of management). read more

I came in to get my battery checked. I waited in line a good ten minutes before it was my turn. It was a busy Wednesday afternoon. I did not mind the wait; However, when it was my turn i approached the gentlemen at the register and i told him i needed my battery checked he than asked me if i could wait to the side while he helped more customers? I was moved to the side and stood there very confused. After he helped out two more customers he ended up going outside to assist one of them with their vehicle. Meanwhile another employee saw me standing there and he offered to assist me instead. I understand they were busy but the point of a line is to help customers in order as they come in. You don't get to pick and choose who you'd like to assist. On top of this the gentleman that ended up assisting me was not helpful at all. My issue was not resolved when i left auto zone. read more

Service guys were rude and not helpful. I went in to get my battery tested and one of the guys went to get the machine that tests it and the other worker shouts "what did I tell you? The customer has to bring in the battery so we can test it. This is the last time" all while I'm standing there... so since that guy said that it's the last time the other rep helps me and that same guy shouts across the store "where are you going? I said no more." The guy went and tested my battery anyways. Then proceeds to tell me if I need a replacement they won't do it because they can't right now... even though it was slow. My friend who was with me asked if they don't help replace anymore and he goes we do just not right now... ok? That makes no sense. He tears my battery and says it's 0% but not failing. So it could be my alternator so just bring it back tomorrow morning... not real sure why I'm told to bring it back tomorrow when I'm there then and now. Luckily I had a little bit of juice in my battery to start it and bring it to a more competent auto zone. I work in the mornings I don't have time to mess around and come back in the morning for no reason. They almost acted is if I came in 5 min before closing. I came over two hours before. This is the closest autozone to my house but I will never come to this one again. I will go to the one at cactus and 40th because they are helpful and friendly. Never again at this one. read more

Don't buy a battery here. No problems with the staff or service per se, however I bought a 5 year battery that died in 1.5 years. When I went to get it replaced under warranty they stated they needed to fully charge it to test it, which would take 2 hours. Needless to say, I've purchased my last battery from autozone. The batteries are crap apparently, and then they don't willingly replace them. I don't know what the breakout is for batteries with a little life in them that they don't need to replace vs the ones that need to. I imagine the majority actually get replaced. Compare that cost savings with the cost of future business that you will lose, it's probably a negative return. So, if you want a crap battery and want to wait 2 hours to replace it go to autozone. read more
