I'm really big on being greeted when walking into an establishment and everybody at the cash register looked at me walk in and didn't say a thing even though they weren't busy. The only person who acknowledge me was someone who seemed like they were training another employee. On top of that I was not asked if I needed help finding anything WHICH I DID NEED HELP finding a certain oil for my car and every time I went to try to ask someone for help they made like they were busy and told me to give them a second. read more

So, I failed my car inspection. I had to replace my windshield wipers and the little light thingy under the license plate. I went to Auto Zone and started looking up the correct sizes and brands based on reviews. They have a handy booklet available, but I find it was faster looking it up on line. They were busy, so no one approached for assistance. But when I got to the counter, the sales clerk graciously double checked the sizes for me and made sure I bought the right ones. Love AutoZone! My morning started off a little shaky when my trucks Check Engine light came on. My truck is almost 11 years old and has 130K miles. So I was thinking "Oh no, stuff is going to break". I went to this AutoZone and they hooked my truck to the code scanner for free. The code came back with a loose gas cap. Haaallleluuujaahh!! They cleared my code for me. AutoZone saved me about $80 for diagnostic fees at the dealer and who knows how much more with an inflated code diagnosis. read more

Bad experience with Phil, should have known when day before he had a problem with customer but gave him a chance. Gave wrong info about lights, told me to come back when not raining and he would fix. My experience started with a single phone call, to which the person at Autozone who answered said "it's a beautiful day at Autozone". I came in an hr later to initially by jumper cables and found the person I spoke to was in fact the store manager. I like the way you can roll up to an Auto Zone and ask questions and often drive away without having had to buy anything. I've been talked off the ledge at a few Auto Zone locations around town - most recently by Irene at this Babcock location. She was perfectly friendly and perfectly knowledgeable. Turns out something had wiggled a little too loose. After some investigation and some tightening, I was on my way. (And yes, I totally gave her a hug.) They were very professional. I asked for a car battery that O'Reilly Auto Parts didn't have in stock. Autozone had it. They checked to make sure the battery was really bad before they sold me a new one, which I really liked. They replaced it quickly and I was in and out in about 15 mins. The battery also had a 5 year warranty at Autozone whereas O'Reilly had mostly 2-3 year warranties. read more

I like that I'm acknowledged when I walk in here and helped quickly! The gentleman who helped me this afternoon was professional and knowledgeable. He found the bulb I needed and replaced it for me as well. Literally took a few minutes to take care of me. I've been to this location a few times now and have never had a bad experience. I have always shopped at az. Unfortunately anytime I have stopped at this location, I have always had the worst service. There is 0 customer satisfaction and every employee that has ever helped me here seems to always have a smart ass answer to any question possible. On one trip I had a return and had the receipt. The receipt was crumbled as most receipts get. The manager looked at the receipt, looked at the product ,which was still brand new, and preceded to tell me "I can't do the return because I dnt know where the product has been". This is a new excuse and i have never heard of this in my life. Avoid this location if possible. read more

David and Rudy were so kind and so very helpful today. I don't know what I would've done without them. I came in to get a new battery, I had to walk to auto zone since my battery was completely dead. David insisted that I wait for Rudy to show up so that I wouldn't have to walk home with a heavy battery. Rudy drove me home and asked if I needed help changing my battery and I told him that I think I could figure it out. I was very wrong, I didn't have the rights tools and with how bad the corrosion was I would have never been able to replace it myself. Rudy had to really work hard to get my battery out, he even had to take it to the store to remove the terminals. He came back with better tools and got my battery in!! I had to go back to auto zone for one little part to make sure my negative terminal wouldn't wiggle off while driving and David put the part on for me. I am completely amazed with these two men. I am so very grateful for the extra help that they didn't need to give. Men like these two make this world a better place. I look forward to coming back to this auto zone. read more

I love Auto Zone. I have always enjoyed the helpful staff. Unfortunately Auto Zone staffs these stores with the minimum staff. Here at 9 PM trying to get a battery installed. These two hard working staff members are swamped with large number of customers, phone calls and often one of them has to be out in the parking lot helping various customers with their cars. Shame on you Auto Zone for not staffing this store well . Your staff needs more help and your customers need quick service. read more

The price is comparable with others and even a few cents cheaper. So if you know what you are doing, then get the parts and leave. Don't ask the associates working there because they will try to sell you things you don't need like an alternator when your battery is just old and needs replacing. read more

This place is awesome! I'm from a different city and got stuck when the alternator went out. Irene diagnosed the problem and called a mecanic over to replace it on a Sunday in the middle of a heat wave and for a cheap price. I'm so happy with the customer service that i can barely express it in words. If you have car trouble near UTSA, stop here first! read more

After the first set of windshield wiper blades were not setting tight on my car, Juan Carlos helped me put on a second set for free.
