Lots of bad reviews for this place, but in all honesty, for this type of in-house financed used car…read morelot, they are at the head of the pack! Any dealership that finances stricktly in-house will have inflated pricing, you aren't going to get an amazing bargain when you are financing in-house. You just aren't. They need to make money somewhere, and they aren't getting bank kickbacks or selling gap insurance, so their bread and butter is the profit on sales and interest. I have bought two vehicles from Dales, the first one was totaled before I got the plates, and they worked with me through the claim, and even let me roll my LoC over to a new vehicle. Everyone in the office is really friendly, and there's a family-owned vibe to the company. Definitely got a San Antonio feel to the place. A few notable things to the process, and I've bought two cars from here: Nobody is going to come out and jump on you to make a sale, roam around the lot, find something you like, then go inside and inquire. It was actually a pleasant experience to not be hounded or pushed by a salesman, but maybe that's your jam. I don't know. It isn't mine. No test drives until you've submitted an application. Serious and qualified buyers only I guess. The application requires a whole slew of local references, and they WILL call your references. They have a very thorough screening process, but they need to since they don't check credit. You also need to provide detailed financial information, not really a big problem if you're actually in a good position to be making the payments. All vehicles have GPS trackers installed with an ignition kill switch. They insist that all household drivers must also submit an application. I'm not really sure what the point of this is as long as the drivers are insured, but hey, they make the rules. The bottom line is they are selling cars to those who need them with probably less than perfect credit. They mark the cars up above market value, but they will get you into something you can make payments on. Everyone is friendly, and the process is straightforward as long as you can provide reference and documentation. The whole process start-to-finish was accomplished in a couple of hours both times I have bought from Dales. I normally buy from private sellers, but in all my experience with used car dealerships, Dales has to be the most pleasant experience I've had. No pressure, no tricks, no upsells here.

The only person worth talking to is Gladys she's very helpful and respectful, Juliana and Nicole have definitely made me regret getting a car from Dales & Bartlett Motors! They don't call back within a timely matter, Juliana is extremely rude almost as if working there is a punishment of some sort. No customer service skills at all. Never smiles when I've greeted her. Never says good morning back. Unfortunately she's the one I have to deal with when it comes to getting status updates on my car. I dropped my car off Monday at 8:45 am and today is Wednesday!! And they haven't returned my calls! I mean I'd like an update of some sort that's all I'm asking at this point. I'm so frustrated and I don't know who to call anymore!!

Over 20,000 for a used 2007 car? But I mean, if you can't get a car anywhere else... Update: they claimed the car they were selling me was maintenanced and in good shape but I started having problems less than a week after signing for it. Update: I have been promptly contacted by the company, and they are offering to take the vehicle in and have it looked at. Lady said Whether or not I have to pay for the services being done my vehicle is still to be determined, but they have offered a payment plan if need be, I really hope I can change my review back to five stars. Update: they confirmed that it was my fuel pump (as I mentioned to them) that is causing issues with my vehicle and apparently nothing else is coming up. They want me to pay for the part and labor (around $517.00) on top of my car payments on a payment plan. Very disappointed as they sold the car to me that way and want me to pay for it. I declined offer and chose to just pick up my car and figure it out. Just be extra careful when picking out a vehicle with them, lesson learned please read the one star reviews on Google a lot of them are saying similar things!

I did the brakes myself but forgot to put the truck in service mode. I brought my truck to another shop in San Antonio and after two weeks they finally gave my truck back and after turning it off and on again, the issue persisted I told them to tow it to Vara Chevrolet, which they agreed to. I met with Richard, who is my service advisor for the week that my truck was there. I dropped it off on Friday and was told on Tuesday. That there was a leak on the passenger rear caliper that the other shop installed. They called me to make sure that they could investigate further and after doing so discovered that the pressure washer that seals the brake line to the caliper was bent from being over tightened. I had to call them on Wednesday to get an update and on Thursday they told me it would be done on Friday on Friday. I went and picked up my truck and everything worked amazing. I'm so happy that I brought my truck to Vara Chevrolet. Attached is a picture they sent me to show me the leak.

Terrible Experience - They Talked Themselves Out of a $68,000 Sale…read moreI walked into this dealership ready to buy and had a pristine 2020 Nissan Rogue to trade in. Unfortunately, the sales team completely blew the deal. They refused to offer anything more than the absolute cash value on my trade-in. I understand dealerships need to make money on trades, but I don't need a lecture about it. My job was to bring them a quality vehicle; their job was to figure out how to make a profit. I was willing to move forward, but their rigid "take it or leave it" stance made it clear I was better off walking. When I told the salesman I was leaving, he literally said, "Go ahead and walk away." So I did. I got in my Rogue and left without looking back. Later that evening around 7 PM, the salesman texted me asking if I had ended up buying a car yet. The very next day, I went to another dealership. They immediately offered me $13,000 on the trade (significantly more than what was offered here), knocked $1,500 off the price, and didn't push any dealer add-ons. I drove away happy in my new vehicle on May 1st with zero hassle. This dealership single-handedly lost a $68,000 sale because they wouldn't budge even slightly on the trade-in. If you're trading in a vehicle and expect fair value, look elsewhere. Very disappointed. They did turn the super loud music down. It was bothering me very badly by the time I came back in to talk to the guys so that was a plus at least they thought about me for a little bit then, as soon as I start walking away, the music got turned right back up, so that was kind of disrespectful.
