Started to think this was a non-delivery scam. Instead, it was just trash customer service. Finally got a response via email and proceeded to have an interaction with an extremely rude sales rep who just kept blaming me for the problem, stating it's "not his problem," and using all caps to communicate in a snarky way. Honestly atrocious customer service and a terrible buying experience from start to finish.

This was due to the extensive labor necessary to reach the camshaft. I agreed and was told I would receive a call the following Monday. When I hadn't received a call, I reached out myself for an update. Mark from the service department then told me there was damage to a camshaft and two lifters, and that the price would be $4,050. My truck is worth, at most, $8,000, and I'm not currently experiencing any symptoms other than the constant sound. (I have since learned this is due to a design flaw in this model. Many vehicles of this model have this issue, and some can go upwards of 60,000 miles before any real damage occurs.) I received a quote from a mechanic in my hometown who said he could fix the problem for $600. So I told Mark I did not want to proceed with the camshaft replacement and just wanted to get my truck back. Mark then informed me that the vehicle could not be driven off the lot without new head gaskets and other parts that must be replaced when reassembling the engine. He quoted me $1,300 on top of the initial $879 to put my truck back together so it could be driven. This was not explained to me when I initially agreed to have the engine inspected, and if I had known it would cost $2,100 in total, I would not have agreed. When I explained this to Mark, he simply stated, "We don't have to put it back together; you can get it towed." In other words, I would be relying on them to place the parts in my truck, then pay for a tow, and then pay someone else to reassemble the engine. This was Mark's subtle way of letting me know I was trapped. To summarize my experience: I paid $2,100 to have a knock in my engine diagnosed and to have my tires rotated and spin-balanced. Of this, $1,079 was expected ($879 for diagnosis + $90 for the tire rotation and balance), and $1,021 was charged simply to get my truck back to the condition it was in when I brought it--not fixed, just running the same as before. My experience with Campbell Chevrolet was nothing short of a scam that I was trapped in the moment I agreed to the diagnosis. If your car is under warranty with them, I assume you have no choice but to use them. But I strongly urge you not to use this service department if you are not covered by their warranty. I do not write this review expecting them to right this wrong, because based on how my case was handled, honesty does not appear to be in their vocabulary. Instead, I write this to warn others of the risks of using this business for vehicle service. I do not want to see anyone else exploited the way I was, and I assure you: if you give Campbell Chevrolet the chance, they will do exactly that.

Hey, I used it to cut lawns during summers to make some extra cash in high school, so this lawn mower holds some sentimental value, too. To make a long story short, I popped over to Lanny's to talk with their staff about some issues that kept the mower from running. I am not all that mechanically inclined, but Lanny's helped to figure out what needed replacing. We looked over schematics, and then they found the appropriate parts for this dinosaur in their inventory. I was surprised that they had parts for mowers from the early '90s! Great service! Friendly, helpful, courteous, and willing to show you the ropes if you need it. If I need parts for simple repairs, I'll be heading back to Lanny's. When standing by the counter, be sure to check out all of the crazy damaged lawn mower blades. What the heck do people run over?
