We walked in on a Saturday and we're looking for an adaptor for a compression tester to fit on the block of my oversized spark plugs in an older vehicle I am working on. When he first saw the spark plug he jumped back and said "that is a monster! I got to take a picture of that, may I? Then he stayed with us and took us to where the stuff we wanted was located so we didn't wander around the store. To top it all off he took my name and number to call the vendors and find out if any of them carries an adaptor like the one I need. Low and behold he called me on Monday to let me know that they don't have anything like that. Longer story: In response to my original post below, upper-management contacted me and offered to do whatever it takes to get the car repaired. I dropped off my car the day before we were supposed to move from SC to TN, and their master mechanic got to work on it early the next morning. He found the problem: their other mechanic cracked my fuel tank when banging on it to get the fuel pump out, which was causing a fuel leak. It's hard to believe this mechanic didn't notice this when he did it, which would have saved everyone a lot of trouble and Paul's Car Care a lot of money. As a result of the cracked tank, they had to order a new fuel tank, but we were moving that very same day. So, they offered to fix the car and ship it to us in TN. When I requested that they cover a rental car, they offered to cover $100. After a little back and forth, they offered to cover the rental car until they returned out car. A week later, they returned my car with everything working properly. -------- ORIGINAL POST Bottom line: they damaged my car during the repair and didn't fix it. The story: I brought my car in for a fuel pump replacement on 5/16/2025. They replaced the fuel pump, but now I can't fill up my gas tank. Brought it back to them on 3 different occasions, but they couldn't figure out the problem or fix it. So, now I can only fill my car up with a little more than half a tank of gas, which, as you can imagine, is very inconvenient. The manager, Cody, repeated said he was "stumped" and had to call others to try and figure out the problem. And, he would only bring up possible problems when I identified them first. Seemed like he was trying to send me on my way thinking there was no way to fix the issue. He also admitted that the mechanic working on my car was inexperienced, while simultaneously claiming he couldn't have damaged anything, specifically the fuel canister that is right next to the fuel tank. And, Cody continued to insist that the mechanic does reliable work, even though redo his work by reinstalling the fuel pump the mechanic installed... Cody did offer to replace the fuel pump, said he ordered it, and scheduled a follow up appointment. But, when I showed up, he said the part never arrived. He never bothered to communicate that to me before I drove all the way across town. And, he never offered an apology for wasting my time. To their credit, they did replace several parts without charging me, but this was not without some back-and-forth. And, at the end of the day, the problem still persists. So, I'd love a refund on the fuel pump replaced--the repair that resulted in the damage. Wasted a lot of time and spent a good deal of money with this shop only to be left with a problem I didn't have before I brought my car in. They're either incompetent or dishonest, or a combination of both. Very frustrating. I would recommend you try Gerald's or Marks Super Service Center instead of Paul's Car Care.

At first, it seemed like a good experience. I called on Friday and spoke with Bernie, who quickly gave me a quote for a little over $1,300 out the door for the four tires I needed. He set me up with an appointment to drop my truck off Monday for installation. Monday morning, I dropped off my truck and was told the tires would be done and installed in just a few hours. Around noon, I called to follow up and spoke with a different employee who said my truck was ready to be picked up but two TPMS sensors weren't working. I told the shady salesman on the phone that all four sensors were working fine when I dropped the truck off and declined the $200+ service he tried to sell me. He claimed that in his "30 years of experience, this happens all the time." I decided to trust common sense instead. When I arrived to pick up my truck, I was greeted by that same shady salesman with 30 years of experience sitting behind a counter stealing from people. He tried to charge me nearly $1,700 even after a 10% first responder discount. I told him that was incorrect and not the price I had been quoted. After some discussion and pushing back, Bernie finally came over and admitted that the promotion he had quoted me on Friday (and scheduled the appointment for) had expired on Sunday. After more back-and-forth and explaining how unhappy I was with their tactics, they finally adjusted the bill back to the original quote. Once the price issue was resolved, I raised my concern about the TPMS system failing while the truck was in their possession. Also, it didn't seem fair to charge me $9.99 for a "TPMS relearn" when the sensors weren't working. The salesman came back with his infinite wisdom, drew four squares on a piece of paper, and rambled about his 30 years of experience, claiming that removing a tire from the vehicle "kills" the TPMS sensor. By this point, I was so frustrated that I decided it wasn't worth arguing anymore and just paid the bill. After paying, I went to get my truck with the brand new tires I should have been excited about. As I walked across the parking lot, I saw my wheels and tires completely smothered in white grease, looking like a 3-year-old had finger-painted them at daycare. I was already fed up, so I got in the truck to leave. My dash was lit up like a Christmas tree with TPMS warnings. I hit the reset button using my years of experience with a YouTube search... and it worked. Now it was reading correctly, and I could see they had severely over-inflated all four tires. The "relearn" they charged me for clearly hadn't been done. I thought I was finally ready to go home, but I decided to check that the professionals at Pep Boys had put my spare tire back in its carrier. Of course not. They had just lazily tossed it in the bed of my truck. In summary: Don't go here. They'll quote you one price to get you in the door, try to upsell you things you don't need with their "30 years of countertop experience," and do absolutely everything incorrectly and sloppily.

Having…read morespoken with John I initially felt that I had found a competent and honest repair shop so I decided to drop off my car to resolve some electrical issues I had with some interior lights and my telescopic steering column not extending. I paid several hundred dollars for a diagnostic on the electrical system. While at it I had some pin hole leaks in the cooling system which required attention. I paid for a pressure test which confirmed the leak and a possible need for a water pump. Their quote for a water pump and incidentals was over $4,000.00. Note: the going rate for Jaguar water pump replacement range from $800 to $1,000.00! Additionally and although I did not ask for a quote for any suspension work I was quoted over $22,000.00 for a total suspension rebuild even though the car is not experiencing any noticeable suspension issues! Obviously I declined these quotes but decided to go ahead and have them repair the interior lights and steering column which was my main concern. Low and behold and after over two weeks and over $2,000.00 the only thing which was repaired was a single light bulb! No kidding. The steering column still does not extend, a short effecting the lights in the vanity mirrors was not repaired and the missing dome light was not replaced as requested leaving a hole in the headliner. What I learned at a cost of over $2,000.00 is to never go back to Wright Auto Works and I encourage you to do the same.
