I take it to the dealership and they tell me its the battery, they said its no good. I tell them there is no way because I just bought this battery from Advance auto parts a year ago. I take it back to Advance auto parts and they tell me the battery is good and they dont know why the dealership is saying that. If I drive my car everyday all is fine, but if I dont drive for a day the car dies. I finally take it to another place and they say again its the battery , the battery is bad. When I purchased it here they said it was 3 year warranty and after a year is wasnt working right and they didnt want to honor the warranty and replace it. I have been going to this Pep Boys location for over 14 years now and have had all 4 cars service by them. In that time there have been quite a number of turn overs of Service Techs and Managers. I would like you to know that they have figured a problem I have had with my car, that has been going on for more than 4 yrs. Amanda over heard me complaining to the front desk service person about this problem. She came outside and ask me to tell her what was going on. She listened very carefully and set me up with an appointment to address this on going problem. Today Sat. July 10, 2021 is when it was looked at, after all those years that someone else prior to her should have figured it out, the problem was revealed and explained to me to my satisfaction. I thought her customer care concern was what that place needed all along. I heard she hired the Tech Jaime and she has gotten a first rate Tech in her staff now. This is supposedly an 8 to 10 hour repair. The area manager did take more money off the bill as a goodwill gesture. A friend had stopped in there on Wednesday and said it appeared that the technician wasn't there that day. I have used Pep Boys for all if my vehicle maintenance and repairs since 2016. Never again. Due to this debacle they will be losing roughly 6k per year from us.

I try the phone to maybe speak to someone to ask if opening time is actually 7:30 am I watch how they ignore my call right infront of my face. It is now 7:46 16 mins past opening time and the door is still locked, regional manager should investigate and terminate responsible individuals and store managers present that allow this level of unprofessional practice. Such a big franchise should not allow employees to tarnish business this way.

He also tried to sell me three different bulbs saying I could return what I didn't need. At that point I knew I needed to leave. I went right to Advance Auto got the exact bulb I had told the man at O'Reilly's I needed. While checking out the man there confirmed it was the right bulb apologized for me having such a bad experience and gave me a discount. I was able to change the bulb myself which says a lot because I'm a female with long nails. The man at O'Reillys was saying I'd need special tools and warning me if I broke pieces how much they'd cost to replace. All and all a horrible experience!!!

Once the battery was in the car still wouldn't turn over. I called him back and he immediately said I needed an alternator, he said he could tell how it sounded that's what the problem was. I immediately called my mechanic and I didn't need an alternator. He's always honest. My issue is with sales people that just lie about anything just to get a sale. I won't be going to any auto zone again. I'll just wait for my diagnosis to come from my mechanic.

I showed up for my Saturday morning appointment and was informed they had a staffing challenge that day so could I reschedule? I was fine rescheduling and chose a less busy time later in the week. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly and immediately felt at ease and respected. (This is something I am acutely aware of in the field of car repairs.) The gentleman at the counter was friendly and helpful. I also noticed he wasn't dirty from working on the cars. Service was quick, courteous, and priced competitively. I was impressed that I was in and out in less than an hour. The waiting room was clean with a benign comedy show on the television, rather than divisive news programming. I was happy with the alignment and how I was treated so I definitely recommend this Firestone and I will be back in the future.
