I never write reviews however today I received exceptional extraordinary service from one of your staff by the name of Maryann at the Auto Zone location on Grissom across the street from HEB. Maryann went above and beyond the extra mile in facilitating and demonstrating service at its best! She was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, caring, professional and friendly as she worked with a sense of urgency to help problem solve my car dilemmas. After troubleshooting various engine lights, my car left me stranded at Auti Zone.  I attempted to no avail to call several people to help me get my car to Walmart to replace a battery that was covered by warranty.  When I was unable to get a hold of anyone, Maryann drove me to Walmart to get my battery replaced, then drove me back to auto zone where the battery was installed.  I was able to drive off with my car running great!!   Her service is commendable, outstanding and I am extremely grateful to know she is part of your team.  I will definitely tell everyone and strongly recommend they visit the auto zone location Maryann works at for all their car needs knowing they will receive the best service ever!! read more

Went here yesterday for a fuse and information on a possible leak I could not find regarding radiator fluid loss. The employee (tall young attractive black female) assisted me in locating the fuse I needed and advised me on where the leak could possibly be if I was unable to see it. She was "right" it was hidden up behind the heater-coils in a spot you had to look for as the fuild leaking from there was not reaching the ground before evaporating or burning off on the back of the engine block. Congrats to AutoZone on having such a valuable and knowledgable employee!! She needs to be held-high and regarded well for advancement. Her customer service was outstanding, very friendly, and polite to boot. I will come to this AutoZone again in the future... but if you understand, I hope not too quickly or often, LOL!! read more

I read online that AutoZone would take the dead car batteries and boat batteries and dispose of them for me. (As long as it wasn't leaking). I confirmed they would take them and got approval. I grabbed a cart and brought it inside for them. It took five minutes tops. The disposal location is way on the west side of town and only open one day a month. AutoZone made it an easy and responsible disposal. I have been to this AutoZone location twice now. They had a line waiting at the counter just before lunch. While I was waiting in line, the two female employees made sure to say hello to me and they would be with me in just a minute. I watched one of the male employees walk out with an elderly gentleman to put the new wiper blades on for him! read more

Needing a part for my car, I went to this location on a Saturday morning. I walk inside and there are three customers in the store, two that were being helped by one sales associate, and another that was browsing. So Im standing there at the service counter, waiting. There are a total of 5 sales associates working. So im standing there...waiting...and not a single one of them stops to help me. I noticed i wasn't standing in the right spot, they have a line marked off for customer service. Okay, my dumb fault, let me go ahead and walk the 5 feet to get in line. I go get in line (there was no one else in line or at the counter needing assistance) and still.nothing! The associates keep walking by...one dude is stocking shelves, another guy is standing in a corner doing something...a female worker walks in and breezes right past me...nkw im pissed. So im giving the guy stocking parts the Vulcan death stare ( you know the stare, its the you.know.you.see.me.standing.here.you.ass**** stare) and after a smooth 3 minutes of that, finally he turns around and asks me what i need. Oh, but he couldn't be cordial about it, no, i was clearly bothering him. So if you learn a lesson from this, try the Vulcan death stare. It works. read more

stay away from this place, especially the one on Potranco and Grosenbacher i do not know how they stay in business they don't train their managers or staff. very unprofessional i ordered some parts for my jeep that i paid in cash $239.31 they told me come and pick up the parts the next day by 9 am, i went the next day after 3 pm and they had no information on the whereabouts of my items. then the manager told me your parts will arrive by 6 pm, i went back at 7 pm and the parts were still not there. they said to come back the following day by 9 am, i went around 5 pm again the next day and had no clue of my parts then i ask for my money back they refuse to refund my money they said i have to come back the next day. I had to keep coming back to the store multiple times and they still didn't have the parts i ordered and were not communicating that to me. instead of being transparent and telling me it would take a few days they told me to keep coming back, only to be disappointed. read more

My partner and I were loyal customers till he was told by an employee that he was too busy cool I get that but when I see everyone else getting assisted and more than one employee working and my partner getting ignored because he speaks Spanish that's where I draw the fucking line and he couldn't even tell him what nail or bolts he needed to install a part for my car I called O'Reilly's while waiting in the parking lot waiting for my partner who BTW speaks Spanish y'all damn well know either I go inside or he goes inside because one of us is usually in the vehicle waiting I have to translate because there's only like 2 people at this store who speak Spanish another thing if you have a problem with me tell me to my face instead of talking to the customer that you're helping it's funny how someone who's a female acting like they know it all try and act like she knows it all I'll be more than happy to talk to y'all's store manager because we have spent a good amount of money at this location I'm not entitled but y'all shouldn't bite the hands that feed y'all btw Ryan at O'Reilly's helped us find what we needed and told us the part was still good to use and put on for me and it was my 1st time there and he had more experience and I even gave him snacks because he helped me and a few other people I waited patiently and not even that long where y'all couldn't even tell me if the part was still good to use but told me where it was from couldn't even tell me how to put it on and didn't even want to try and help put it on hearing the same damn thing to go to a mechanic well it didn't take a mechanic to get the job done read more

Don't get me wrong I still like this location but recently I had to go back because my brother was replacing mine and my grandma's ac compressors. Well he gave me a list of stuff he was going to need including the compressors themselves. When I went the guy who was helping me was totally clueless about what he was talking about. I may be a girl and not know to much about cars, but I knew way more than what he was talking about. He kept having to ask or help every time I would question him. It was driving me insane. Finally one of the managers (who I had dealt with about a week before because he helped me fix a hose in my engine), came out and got me everything I needed without any problems. I was in there for almost an hour because of the other guy. Seriously if you don't know anything about cars, you probably shouldn't be selling car parts to people. All in all I will still go back, but just be careful of who I talk to. read more

Staff was helpful and attentive in finding a product. When it came to exchanging a hitch (with a receipt purchased an hour before ) they wouldn't accept the return. It didn't fit and we needed another size. They stated a few scratches signified it was not the same one. Several of the products on the shelf are re packaged and one of the "new" balls we purchased had scratches and was re packaged. The scratches could have come from sitting together metal on metal or could have been there . Not from any instillation. Very disappointed . read more

Went in to get my car battery checked. Girl at the counter told me that both managers would be busy. I told her I could wait and walked around the store for 15-20 mins. A MAN walked in, requested the SAME THING, she grabbed the equipment and checked his battery. I am a woman who fixes her own vehicles and I found this incredibly rude, and a little sexist. She said she could not help me because she was the only one in the store. I stared at her blankly in shock and she replied sorry but I'm the only one here so I can't help you. N also got me stuff to repair my tail light. He is amazing it was busy in the store n he took care of me fast n i was on my way. I walked in to get my check engine light turned off which is a service they have provided for years. And the manager says that they don't offer that service anymore. Such bs. I bought a battery there a few years back, I brought it in because it kept dying on me. Three times I brought it in but they kept saying, "oh the battery is fine, its your car!" Twice they told me that. Last time being December 2016. I bring it in today and they tell me "Oh yeah this battery is screwed" a month and a half after warrenty finally goes out. I complain and the guy offers to take 10% a new one. I still feel wronged so a manager comes over, says not only will he not give me a new battery but he won't even do a 10% off like the previous rep offered. He clearly didn't like having to deal with me despite the fact I was respectful and kept my tone in check. So I had to spend over $200 for a new one. This is the last thing I'll ever buy there. I feel I was out right swindled by Autozone on Austin Hwy. I feel robbed. read more

Absolute fail today! Multiple employees in location stocking while eight people were in line waiting to cash out. AutoZone has decided to create a standing customer Lane with rope barriers which mimics a queue line to have customers lined up to be helped. Unfortunately, there is a small sign that says 'parts pick up and look up only' so when you stand in this line you're thinking that you're waiting for the queue to go to the first open register, well that's not the case. AutoZone, you guys are absolutely ridiculous in your decision to create a customer queue lane for part look up at the most centrally-located register. Why not have the parts look up register which is going to take all the time way at the end at the farthest register away from the entrance to the store with a large sign over the register stating what it's for. Why put this in the middle of the store where people will congest the flow waiting for part look up, which by nature is going to take a lot of time instead of moving it down to the end. Most other Auto Parts retailers have figured this out. To ensure that the first open register is for the first waiting customer who arrived at the store in order. Not only do you have a floor plan that is not well thought out, but you don't have enough employees to help Cash Out customers. Additionally, you have employees that are stocking and doing other tasks rather than helping multiple customers cash out that are standing in line. I will never ever go to AutoZone again, anywhere! There are too many other competitors out there. The last time I was there I had good service but it was Sunday morning at 9 a.m. I guess the only way they can get it right is one customer at a time but when is that ever a reality. Do your homework AutoZone, most other places have a customer queue for all the registers not a customer queue just for Auto Parts look up. How ridiculous is that. The car parts sold at AutoZone are extremely poor quality. I purchased 4 sets of wires from 3 different locations ALL were defective. Finally get a set that was not. The ignition coil pack also defective. I ended up returning and purchasing from Advanced Auto Parts. read more

I was a regular here until I lost my receipt for a garden hose that was unused and unopened. At first the assistant manager Charles was going to let me return it, then he changed his mind. At that point I realized that this store does not care about customer service, even for the regular customers. Oreilly's and Advance Autoparts are right down the street, and I will be bringing my business to one of those stores from now on. They will not make good on a battery warranty. The battery is about 18 months old and will not hold a charge for longer than a few days. They claim there is nothing wrong and so they will not honor the warranty. O'Reilly's and Advanced Autoparts both checked the battery and said it was no good. Good bye Auto Zone...Hello O'Reilly's. I now live in San Antonio and go here a lot b/c I like to fix my own car and even if I have someone fix it for me I buy the parts. EVERY time I go here the employees acknowledge me. They are courteous and have never hesitated to assist me. I find it strange that customers get a negative attitude when they don't get IMMEDIATE service. I say to them go back to that fairytale land from whence you came. OR grow up and learn to wait. I don't always get IMMEDIATE service but this is normal and real. ALERT, in non fairytale land things are not always perfect and you will have to wait. I like this particular location and if I REALLY want something from them, then I wait my turn. read more
