I brought my vehicle in because it had an oil leak. I let them know that I was told at another shop I possibly had a valve cover leaking. The shop diagnosed the issue as a valve cover leak. I approved the repair expecting that it would resolve the problem. However, the car continued leaking oil shortly after the repair. When I brought it back the following week, instead of addressing the original concern, I was given an entirely new diagnosis involving additional repairs that were more than triple the cost of the initial repair. Stating that it was my timing cover and power steering hose that was now leaking. What was frustrating was that none of these potential issues were mentioned during the original diagnosis. If the engine had multiple possible leak sources, I believe that should have been communicated up front so I could make an informed decision before approving the first repair. The lack of clear communication made the experience feel like the problem was not properly diagnosed the first time. I don't mind paying for necessary repairs, but I do expect transparency about potential causes and realistic expectations for whether the initial repair will fully solve the issue. Because of the lack of communication and the way the situation was handled, I no longer feel comfortable returning and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I took my 2002 WS6 Trans Am to Goose UC for repairs to the headlights (not popping up) and window motor. After an entire week, they finally contacted me to say the car was ready. Upon starting the car, I noticed a significant hesitation. I thought that maybe the battery ran down during repairs and felt it would probably be fine after I drove it a bit. I did that, and then stopped for gas. Upon restart, it happened again. I called the shop, and they said to bring it back. After half an hour on a charger, they told me that the battery wouldn't charge and only had 3% left. I was surprised the car would even start with that little. They were happy to sell me a new battery. Left again, only to notice that the clock was not on. Tried to turn on the stereo, and nothing. Went back. They then examined the car again and stated that there was power to the stereo. Danica offered to diagnose it further for another $149 (diagnostic fee) but said that if the stereo had an internal short, that was not their fault. I told them I was not going to agree to pay for something they damaged, and I needed the car back after not having it for a full week. Their position was that this was all coincidental. Got back in the car and tried the stereo again. This time it made a sickly static noise and a clicking noise in the back of the car when I turned it on. Turned it back off and started to put on my seatbelt. Realized the seatbelt was in the back seat. Upon looking more closely, I saw that the seatbelt ring on the side of the seat had been ripped off and was missing. Went back in and was asked by Trey why I couldn't tell them everything I thought was wrong at once. Wow. Went home and had a little chat with ChatGPT. Asked it if it was appropriate to disconnect the battery for the work that was done, and the answer was 'yes'. I then asked if reconnecting the battery could have damaged the clock and stereo. It said: "During the window motor or headlight repair, there was likely an electrical event (small short, spike, or crossed wire) that damaged the internal electronics of the stereo, and possibly the clock circuitry too." I then told it about the battery being damaged and asked it if it thought that the battery, clock, and stereo being damaged seemed coincidental. Here is the reply: "Given everything you've described so far -- the stereo and clock not working, the static noise, clicking sounds, and now a sudden starting hesitation with a "needs a new battery" diagnosis -- it's very unlikely that this is just a coincidence. It strongly suggests something electrical went wrong during the repair. Here's what might have happened: ________________________________________ 1. Battery Could Have Been Damaged During Reconnection If the mechanic: * Reconnected the battery improperly (e.g., reversed polarity for even a moment), * Created a short while reconnecting, * Or allowed a surge from reconnecting while circuits were still active (ignition on, doors open, etc.), Then yes -- that can cause internal battery damage, especially in older batteries. A dead short can cause a thermal event inside the battery that reduces its ability to hold charge or deliver enough cold cranking amps." I'm guessing the mechanic knows exactly what happened but will never admit it. If you believe that this was all a coincidence, here is what is clearly not a coincidence. 1. I was sent home in a car that was clearly compromised, and this was completely noticeable due to the hesitation upon start-up. 2. Whoever broke the seatbelt loop actually cut it off of the seatbelt, hoping it would not be noticed. This shop caused over $1,000 of damage to my car. It was around $300 for the new battery, and it can be as much as $697 for a refurbished Monsoon stereo system, not including installation. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this shop to anyone. If you have an older car, you might think twice before taking it there. If they damage it, they will take zero responsibility for the damage and then proceed to sell you additional services if you want it fixed. read more

Took my Cadillac for an alignment and was quoted 79 or so dollars to alignment, I showed up and when realizing it was a Cadillac the price went up to 139 or so dollars, tech put it up on rack only to find out one side of the rack was broken and wanted me to leave the vehicle and they would take it to a their other location by IH 10, I insisted that I drive my vehicle myself only to find out that the location didn't have an alignment rack machine, and they would have to take it to different location and "farm out" the work, the manager had a Corvette and I asked him if he would trust some others the drive his as I have an 06 XLR sportscar convertible Cadillac Flagship at this time, he said no. The entire team did a great job. We had an issue I with a bad battery that was under warranty with Valvoline but it was passing their tests. The Goose technician did a great job in charging it and validating it was a bad battery. Andi took the bad battery back to the Valvoline store and swapped it out for a good one while I was in their loaner vehicle. They also did other work well and went above and beyond. I had some suspension work done here years back when this location name was Bandera automotive. No problems, work was performed without issues and on time. I needed to have engine rear main seal replaced last year an decided to have done at Goose automotive. While they were going to pull transmission out, I decide to have a new torque converter I provided installed as well and have transmission serviced. Big mistake! Less than a year later and rear main seal needed to be replaced again. It was was either not done or Improperly done at Goose automotive. The day after I picked up my vehicle the first time a year ago, I inspected work under SUV and several nuts on exhaust flange were only hand tight. Some cover plates on bell housing not properly reinstalled. And also, low and behold Torque converter I provided was still sitting on floor board of rear seat. I mentioned that oil was still leaking when I returned and they assured me they would re-check along with installing converter they had forgotten to install. At the time I figured leak may be coming from some other area. I no longer had confidence in their work and wasn't about to return to their shop a third time. Fast forward to last month and I finally decided to get this oil leak diagnosed again at another reputable Garage. Different garage said leak was still from rear main seal and I had them repeat the repair which has now stopped the leak. Goose may be ok for minor repairs and tune ups but I'd be cautious about having major repairs done here. read more

On my 2005 F-150 XLT I had a rear pinion seal between my driveshaft and rear differential leak after driving on a very rough dirt road. The Ford dealership wouldn't be able to get me in for another 2 weeks. I called around town and couldn't find anywhere that looked professional and could get me in ASAP. Not many places will work drivetrain issues. A friend recommended Goose Auto and was able to get me in. Their number didn't work right (call (210) 432-4000 instead) so drove in and was able to talk to Edward Garcia III. Very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Great customer service. Able to get me in ASAP and work on fixing my problem. Identified my brakes and serpentine belt were worn. I had neglected them for years and was indeed due for a replacement. Lil pricey but things are getting pricey everywhere with current economy. Edward was able to give me a veterans discount which was admirable. Would work with them in the future for things I want done right on the difficult repairs. Never had an automotive place take pictures to document the repair. They don't try to upsell you products you don't need and they explain things very well. My one beef is that I had a voucher for a free oil change as a healthcare worker, but instead of honoring it, they marked it as a 15% discount. They initially told me they would honor it but then didn't after they had performed the service. I am a little put off by that, but the experience was otherwise pleasant. It is a family owned business, so at least I'm supporting a local business. They are overall trustworthy and do good work. I would come back again. read more

They'd do work and give me the car back and it would be in poor condition. Shaking or some light would come on. They didn't put my number back on correctly. Their expertise is shoddy to say the least and they will hang onto your vehicle, for even simple repairs, for weeks upon weeks at a time. They are also not beneath taking items in your car which is just beyond low, but they barely have any integrity whatsoever and will take every last penny you have. I took my vehicle to Goose to fix my a/c. My coolant spewed from my condenser and would not hold coolant. I also asked if he could repair a broken blend door under my dash. Blend door, not blend door motor. I gave him a very specific list and specifically told him where my leak was. He came back with a $1600 estimate. I ran down my very specific list and said my AC will be 100 percent fixed including the blend door? Yes, all of it will be fixed. $1600 is a lot of money and extremely high. That should replace everything under my hood related to my AC. He tour my dash out and to replace the blend door. Of course, he jacked my price to $1993 once he realized it was the blend door, not the motor. Edward, the guy behind the counter just flat out doesn't listen. Anyway, it was suppose to take 2 days. He litterally kept it 5 days leaving me stranded for 5 days. I called him daily. With my girlfriend present, I went through my very specific list. Ya ya all that will be fixed. I showed up at the end of the 5th day and got my truck. He knew I had to rush to Austin, (3 days late). He charged me and gave me a basically blank invoice. I looked at it and Edward and said did you fix (listed the specific items)? Yes sir, Edward says. Again with my woman present. I leave back to Austin and within 45min all the coolant spewed out. WTF. I called him and he said, oh we didn't fix that and pretty much anything on my list. I was sooooo mad. Then, smoke poured from my dash. Wires start burning. Goose went pulled my dash and now all my wires are burning, literally burning. Now I'm in Austin, $1993 later I had to take it to the local shop to to fix my damaged truck. They promised to reimburse me I have been on gooses ass for months. Sent all receipts and they refuse to pay for their damages and work I paid for they did not do. I WIll be taking them to court. Decided to use them to replace all the rotors on our vehicle. The shop was very clean and well organized and the service was friendly and professional. The work seems to have been done correctly as we haven't experienced any issues. Unfortunately, the markup on the parts was very high, nearly double the price for each rotor. Since we had the vehicle towed and needed it serviced immediately we decided to just pay the excessive amount and get it over with. They offered a $40 oil change and wanted to charge me $80, as they claimed they had to use rare 0-16 oil, so the coupon was void. (Please note that everywhere from Midas to Sun used that oil with no upcharges or issues). They also wanted $66 to install my newly purchased cabin air filter. I refused that price gouge. After me throwing a fit, they decided to honor the coupon this one time. I don't know where they found the oil as it was supposedly out of stock but...After I asked about the free vacuum and car wash, specifically written on the flyer for the Bandera Rd location. They said they didn't offer it there. Nor did they take me though what they did, explain tire thread, brake pad density ir anything. Just a genric receipt. Once in the car, I opened the Toyota app to update the service I had done. It was then I noticed a tire had low pressure. I thought the app, as Goose had done a rotation and was supposed to check this. I went to Discount Tire and, sure enough, low pressure. Never again at this place. BEWARE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST To expensive for repairs crazy estimates. This place is not certified to be a mechanic or repair shop. They charged me $100 to tow my vehicle from Walmart on Bandera to their shop which is 3 blocks away. Didnt even put my car on a flat bed towed it regular telling me my vehicle has frame damaged when it only had a flat tire. Charged me another $100 for a estimate for my vehicle. Told me I needed ALL my suspension needed to be fixed when you clearly see it had a broken control arm and tie rods was bent. They wanted to charge me $1500 for that to be repaired. They also told me my rack and pinion needed to be fixed when it was not broken. This place is ridiculous. The only advise I took from the owner was to tow my car elsewhere. So I got my car towed by Alanis Towing excellent company I highly recommend them. They towed my car properly on a flat bed charged me $85 to tow from Bandera to Sw Military. I was really hoping that this place was going to be my new "go to" for my 4 cars and especially my 1998 Corvette C5. But no... unfortunately, my experience was not good at the end. Took in the C5 for AC repair & they did what it was there for but it took a couple days(dropped off on Monday picked up on Thurs), they had to do more than just a recharge to it. Yes I appreciate that they dug in there to find out what was goin on and only charged me for the recharge. (Turned out that the climate control module was acting up) My problem is that they said they would do a complete under the hood check up to see if anything else is showing up, you know like check fluids warning signs and what not but they didn't have time and that didn't get done. So I took the car "as is" at noon on Thurs and I went straight to work. I got out around 8pm and on the way home my head lights didn't come on. Hmmm they were working before... everything was working besides the AC...and as I got home I usually honk the horn to let family know I'm home but the Horn didn't work either! I called them the next day (Friday) 1130am he said to bring it in the morning(Monday) So I did, a couple hours later they said they don't think it was anything they did wrong for the Lights and Horn not working. I don't believe that, since everything was working before I took in it Monday the week before. So I went to pick to up my Vett, and not a word was spoken to me. Not any concern to to tell me "sorry" or maybe I should check the wiring for this or that or fuses... nothing! Not a word. They just gave me the key & waved. I didn't say anything either but I thought I'd spend some time and say something on here. So in final thought, did they recharge the AC? did they only get the climate control working? now I'm out of a car for now cause I have no horn or headlights. Now I have to spend more money on something that was working before I took the car into this place. Other people gave them good reviews cause they had good service done to their vehicles but I didn't and IM NOT HAPPY. read more

They will not take advantage of old people, single mom's, or folks that are too fat and lazy to climb under the hood (that's me).
