After he skipped me, he proceeded to tell me that the part I was looking for wasn't available because "someone must have stole it" even though I confirmed with another autozone that they had my part. I went in this morning on a rather tight schedule since I had a DMV appt, and I was promptly greeted and asked what I wanted (some Permatex anti-seize and Permatex Ultra Grey). The helpful gentleman then took me to the proper aisle and showed me where the items were, then swiftly and courteously handled the sale. It could not have been a more positive experience at an auto parts store, leading me to question the gentleman about the negative reviews here on Yelp. He mentioned that a couple of employees were no longer working there, so I figured that's probably the reason. I recommend you give this Auto Zone a try. It worked out exceptionally well for me since it was right on my way to DMV at Santa Teresa, and I made it in time, thanks to this helpful Auto Zone employee. The store manager, Joseph, is a wonderful human being and an absolute pleasure to do business with. We came in to check the code for a CEL and purchase the part necessary to fix the issue. Joseph went out of his way to make the whole process as easy for us as possible and to make sure that we had exactly what we needed. While we were in the store, we saw him interacting with other customers and he exhibited the same high level of helpfulness, dedication, technical proficiency, and professionalism. We're fortunate that his store is located very close to our home, but we would gladly drive much, much farther just to work with him specifically. 11/10 would recommend, best customer experience ever! read more

Went on Monday night to get a new battery. The guy who I think was the manager tried to upsell me on the battery and didn't offer any help installing, so I took it back to do it myself. Couldn't reach the bracket holding in the battery and brought it back the next day. Dude named Adam offered me the tools to replace the battery and basically did it himself. read more

Went to get a new battery for my SUV which had tested low elsewhere. I was greeted & helped very quickly. When I asked the employee upon checkout if there was any way he could assist me he offered to come out and put the new battery in for me. He was very friendly & quickly replaced it for me. Went in to Auto zone the other day it was cold and drizzling and I needed some new wipers for my truck Austin pointed me to the wipers and told me the size I needed and helped me decide on the best wipers for my truck. After I checked out he offered to help me put them on, while I'm perfectly capable of doing this myself it's nice that even in the rain he was willing to put them on for me, I gladly accepted. The tall guy with a blonde ponytail and glasses was not helpful at all. The website shows that their store had a wheel cleaner in stock. I went there and the product was not on the shelf, so I went to the cashier and asked if he had it in stock. He just looks at me and says "if its not on the shelf then we don't have it. If we do, its probably in the back in the boxes". Really?? He obviously did not even attempt to help- didn't even look it up on the computer to check the inventory movement. He wasn't helping anyone on the phone either. I used to work at O'Reilly and we would check the inventory movement on the computer and also boxes in the back for our customers. This was around 10:00am on a Sunday where only 1 other customer was being helped by another cashier. Another customer was just browsing around, so it was not like it was busy. The other cashier was on the phone helping someone as well, but there were no other calls coming in. I did not even bother to ask him to check or he would probably give me some other BS and would tick me off even more. read more

I went in a few days ago because I was having problems with my car battery. I asked for them to check it to see how good my battery was the guy came out couldn't even open the hood to my car I had to do it and then said it's bad and went back inside. Was not friendly at all! Then my battery died I went back in because I knew they could charge it if I asked, when I went in one of them was on the phone the other didn't even ask if I needed help. I had to ask for help which he proceeded to say ummm it may be awhile even though they had no customers! I ended up leaving after 10 minutes because I was so upset and called AAA they came quicker and helped way more. I get this is a new location but overall they have terrible customer service and terrible employees this definitely needs to be fixed and solved. read more

We had a phenomenal visit at this autozone... our car battery kept dying so we thought we would have to replace it completely... Joseph checked the battery and it was at 100% the alternator and starter were also fine... Joseph didn't stop there, he with Nicholas' help replaced the terminals on the battery because they were corroded and placed our battery in properly which hadn't been put in correctly in the first place. They also replaced our tail lights and windshield wipers all for free (we just paid for the parts) obviously we have left a tip for both of them for all the help and work they put into our car. Pretty sure they saved us a bunch of money... if you need your car looked at go to this autozone!! The customer service and friendly conversation was wonderful! read more

This is the 2nd time I came in for some part help. Joseph, the store manager is so very helpful and courteous even though we could not find a replacement bolt for my car's control arm. He tried to help by re-threading my damaged bolt. The previous time was early Monday morning when I came in to get a battery replacement for my Outback. I purchased a car battery yesterday & returned the core today. The battery cost is $139.99 & the core is $18. The tax charged on both is $14.61. However, he only refunded $18 to me today. For the tax on the core part, he refused to refund even though I showed him the sales tax amount is charged on the core as well. He claimed that it is their company's policy & the computer program is set like that. He said he will convey my dissatisfaction to his store manager to see if they are willing to correct the program accordingly. I hope he will do so. Therefore they should not have overcharged the sale tax. read more

I went in to pick up a can of throttle bottle cleaner spray and the store supervisor was fuming mad about homeless tent behind the store. He called the police but while he was doing that, a long line of customers were waiting and he was ranting about how his employee wasn't doing enough. Of course I'm rating is the employee's professional stance and not the store itself as it was in a great location. Other then that, I just went to pick up the item and I usually do not interact with the employees other then just greet and talk about cars. The manager didn't he greet much and was rude to his core. I understand his frustration but you do not do that in front of customers. read more

I called auto zone this morning early to see if they had a part for my van . I talk to Alana and she looked it up she told me they have the part so I said can I put it on hold I will be down there in 10 min . To pick it up she said no problem. I went down to auto zone to get the part I needed . Go in and asked for Alana she said hi that's me I told her I just called on phone she put a part I needed on hold for me . She said that they didn't have the part . I told her you told me that you had to be part she said the computer said they do and it was wrong . I ask her how is that when they computer says you have something and your saying you don't have it. That's mess up drive all the way down there and the clerk says we have the part and they are lieing . This crazy that the clerk would say that and then don't care about not having the part I don't recommend this. Auto zone to anybody that wants there parts or need the part right away . The people that work there seem to be on a They don't care to be helpful to get what you need. This is sad we have people working at a place that should care serving people . All I can say is wow. The people at this location here are jokes. I have been in the auto parts industry for 15 years, ran two successful store so I can say I know a thing or 2 about customer service and parts. Today I walked in to this autozone in need of a headlight for my wife Subaru. I walked in and I got no greeting from the 2 worker who were hanging out talking. One was sitting on a cart and the other leaning on the counter. Both guys shirts untucked, no acknowledgement of who just walked in and no motivation to help anyone. When I asked the hefty counter person about my wife's headlight he told me the bulb part number was h11 and pointed to the aisle. He told me to grab the purple one. I'm just looking for the standard sylvania. I told him you guys are out of that standard sylvania. He looked at me and walked over to the aisle grab the purple one and told me thats OEM/standard. I looked at him and told him I wanted the standard bulb. He basically said he was out of the cheaper one and that it won't last long so I shouldnt cheap out on this. I was in shocked. This guy is making up bs to sell me the more expensive one. Sylvania make different levels of light bulbs from standard to ultra. For this worker to lie to me to make a sale is wrong. I walked out and drove down the street to o'Reilly's where I was greeted and walked to the light section in the store. Stay away from this autozone they dont want to help you. On 02/06/2019 around 6pm. I needed to do a full service on my van, I was driving by this new store so I decided to stop by and get the parts I needed, sparks plugs, all filters, Oil etc, easy over $150 wort of parts, I walked in towards the manager who was at a register so I asked him if he could help me get the parts for my truck and gave him year and model, he told me his guy was somewhere in the back and will be right out to help me, after waiting for a few minutes I notice the only other costumer in the store had been waiting to pay for something and was completely ignored, the guy in the back finally came out and before he acknowledged me or the only other costumer waiting to pay, the phone rings and gets on the phone trying to help the person in the phone, really I mean I understand he seem busy but irse of all we had already been waiting for a while, second the manager couldn't stop doing whatever he was doing with his register and help any of the only Two costumers In the store. I got so pissed that I walked out. It really upsets me that most auto parts have such a terrible costumer service. don't be surprised if soon all This stores go out of business, I order all my parts on line and got them the next day delivered to my door. I went to autozone on Almaden expressway to pick up a batter charger that every other store including their own store online sells for 199.99. They were asking 269.99. I showed them were its only 199.99 everywhere else and they said you pay more if someone has to get it from behind the counter. I asked if they match prices, they said yes. I said Walmart across the street has it for 199.99, they said everywhere but there. Ha!! So I showed them HomeDepot they said he would have to call his boss. 10 min later he said I need to see if they can pull one from the shelf and actually have it in their hands. What? Nobody these days picks up any phones and won't go looking for a product. So I wait and am standing waiting, and after another 10 min he comes back and says do you have Home Depots number? WHAT???? He was supposed to be the store manager. I left and went and bought it at Walmart 1 min away. This is why these stores are closing, no customer service. Every store price matches these days to stay competitive. Wont be back there ever!!!!! read more

My husband and I are from out of town and came to San Jose to buy a car. We needed a new battery and stopped by this location of AutoZone. Joseph T. Was the amazing employee who helped us. Knowing we were from out of town and with a new car that wouldn't start, he met us at our new car parked a few blocks away after he got off work to help us install the new battery and properly dispose of the old one. He went above and Beyond to help us in a way that we didn't expect or ask. We can't say enough nice things about him and the kindness he showed us when we were stuck trying to get home before the snowstorm hit the mountain. Thank you! read more

This review is to commend Austin, I went in at a little before 5 on 1/6/19 I walked into a store with one person ahead of me and only one employee that I could see(Austin). I'd been having issues with my battery being dead after sitting for a few days Austin told me it was most likely my battery and that he would get a tester to find out. He said to give him just a minute and he would be out to help me, he went to the back and grabbed another person to cover the front for him. He stepped out with me and tested the battery he also tested another part, he said the battery was a little low on charge and should have been higher given that I had just drove there. He said he recommended a new battery, so I went inside and he helped me select a battery which would fit my truck, and explained to me the way a battery is measured. He told me what I had and recommended one similar size or bigger. Not knowing much about it I asked him what he would do if it was his vehicle. That is the recommendation I went with, he was knowledgeable and was very patient with me. He even put in the battery. I don't normally write reviews but given the way he handled himself and how polite he was I figured I would write him a review. read more

The employees maybe either crooks or incompetent I can't decide.. i placed online order in March 8 for an instore pickup..didn't realize it takes 3-5 delivery time for something they had in stock..ended up having to purchase a second car battery because the online order wasn't available till the 10-12 I asked them at the time to cancel the order and the told me their manager is the only one that can cancel online orders..I proceeded to call back Half dozen times trying to get the order cancel and was told an excuse every time... only today I was issued a refund and cancellation after the phone operator spoke to the manager at which point was telling her I picked it up already..she pleaded with the manager to explain to her that impossible but he was admanat I picked it up after knowing multiple times I was trying to cancel the order..after writing this I think he is both..I will never give any business to autozone going forward due to this comedy. read more
