What a weird experience. The store manager tried to blame us for returning an item in its original condition that we purchased from another AutoZone location. He lectured us about how his store "loses money" while another store "gains money" from the return, and even claimed he had to cut employee hours because of it. We had a receipt, followed AutoZone's return policy, and exercised our right as customers to return an item to any AutoZone location. Completely unprofessional and uncomfortable interaction. Stopped by Tuesday August 17, 2021 around 11am, to purchase a Front Left - light because my 2010 Ford Escape needed a bulb replacement. I was served by both Gino and Seth S. the Sales Manager. Both really nice guys providing great Customer Service. :) I asked Gino if he could replace my front Left Car Light Bulb for me.. He politely said "No, sorry we don't do that here.." Gino's - Sales Manager Seth S. responded and said "We do offer those services here. We didn't for a while due to the pandemic, but we're starting that again..and will be offering that, as well as Battery Replacement again soon." Oh what a pleasant & happy surprise! :) Seth S. helped me with the Light Bulb replacement for my car right in the Autozone parking lot. Exceptional Customer Service!!! I was visiting from out of town and I came in to have the battery on my 2005 Toyota Corolla tested to see if I needed a new one, as my car failed to start twice in 2 days. Thomas was outstanding!!! He not only told me that my battery was fine, but that the battery tester showed that my alternator was failing. I know that they will change your battery, as a courtesy, if they are adequately staffed and have the time. Even though I did not necessarily need a new battery, I got one anyway since the battery that I had was over 8 years old. Thomas was kind enough to change my battery for me and provided the kind of customer service that seems to be lacking at most stores. I was actually at the Autozone on Monterey Rd San Jose earlier in the day and left because they did not seem to care about customer service at that location. Anyway, thank you to Thomas for his great service! I will definitely recommend this Autozone to family and friends! read more

I paid $18.x for an item and realized that I picked the wrong one. So, I requested for a refund. The guy told me that he couldn't do it because there was something wrong with the system. Then he printed out a receipt and told me to come back another day when the manager is here because he can't authorized it. I came there couple days later but the manager was not there. I attempted to come couple times afterwards and finally met the manger and the guy there. Unfortunately I lost my receipt and asked him he can refund my money, but he pretends that he didn't remember and refused to do it. I told him that it's only $18 and it's not worth for me to come back and forth, so I walked away. I'll never buy anything from this store anymore. Those guys are so rude. read more

I purchased one of those cans for your AC here and bought the wrong one. I went back to exchange it and the girl working there was of no help. She basically said I had to keep buying different ones until I found the right one. I'm a girl and I can admit I'm an idiot when it comes to car things. I thought she'd be smart enough to ask for help because she obviously has no idea what she's talking about. I decided to take my business elsewhere. The guy who helped me Friday was a lot kore helpful even tho he recommended the wrong can for my car but his customer service was a lot better than this little girls. I had a great experience here. I came in because my car had died randomly a few times. Klarissa was very helpful and tested my car battery, determining that I needed a new one. However, one of my terminals was corroded making it difficult to remove my old battery. The new store manager (I forgot your name, sorry!!) came out and took the time to clean the terminal with battery cleaner and scrubbed it for over 10 minutes. She made it look brand new, then proceeded to remove the old battery and install the new battery. All free of charge. I was very impressed and satisfied with the level of service. read more

Went to buy stuff for an oil change, guy was rude and disruptive helping a customer that was already at a different register with a different employee. Was rude and you could tell he didnt wanna be there and to end it off when i went to change the oil filter it didnt fit, come to find out he gave me the wrong one which didnt fit my car, car sat draining while i looked for a different autozone but it the closest open one was in hayward. Wasted my time and the drive when it couldve been avoided if the dude at the register did his actual job right. A rude entitled kid gave me an attitude throughout the whole transaction because he couldnt bring out a $10 special advertised at the front desk that he didnt even told about upon seeing me with the items in hand ( oil drain pan, towls, funnel and hand washer). The oil pan itself is $9.99 so of course i was gonna ask about the special to not pay the hand washer, funnel, and towels in vain. He treated me with such disconfort and hate and i was being completely patient and nice. Had i brought this Out to his attention it would have gone bad based on his horrible attitude. He basically took his frustration on me for his own incompetence. If youre not going to train someone at least tell that person to be respectful toward custumers. I try not to leave bad reviews as I'm aware that every establishment has an off day or experience extenuating circumstances that could give a bad impression. Having said that, I have givin this store several chances to be professional and helpful and they have gotten it wrong 90% of the time. I think I have organized isle 6 more than the employees have, the auto fasteners are always out of order, out of stock, or full of empty packages from theft. I have stood in line and watched a group of 3 employees play video games right behind the cash register at the brake pads while one cashier struggled to attend to the customers. I have listened to employees complain about other employees, the store manager and customers. I have been waited on while employees ate food and rang up customers I have asked for parts and been told "we dont have them" without actually looking and been told to "go to another store". But the worst experience was on 12-30-19. Again I was on isle 6 sorting through fastners when I noticed a senior citizen standing at the counter and nobody offering her assistance. Ultimately she had to speak up and ask for help. She was told politely that they were understaffed (often heard at this store) and that after the customers in line get rung up, he would assist her with her questions. After 10 more minutes she grew tired of waiting and asked if the "gentlemen in the back could help". This brings me to what I feel is the source of the stores problem; store manager Marco. Marco does not exemplify the image AutoZone wants for its customers. He is never in uniform, always in addias sweat pants, un shaven and hair in total disarray. This particular day he was putting stock away in the back, but he was playing some of the worst music you could play in a place of business. Full of vulgarity, sexual exploits, and violence. This music was being played loudly, and was heard all over the store. But I digress. Marco goes outside to assist the little old lady who has waited now for almost 20 minutes; almost immediately he returns inside stating "lady, the store is understaffed and I dont have time to install a license plate frame". Needless to say she let Marco know his place. Managers should always exemplify expert customer service, and be willing to assist. As this customer explaned to him why he was a poor manager; he chose to instigate her with little interjections of needless comments and assorted rude reactions..... I felt so bad for the customer that I went out and assisted her, it took literally 2 min to install a new license plate frame. Having worked for several years In retail management I know this is a store manager issue, and possibly an area manager issue.... I will no longer be a patron at this location, i will take my business to the AutoZone on Monterey, minutes away. read more

This is a newly opened AutoZone in South San Jose. It's over by the Lowes, tucked into the large parking. It's back faces Cottle Rd so I missed it a few times until I happened to be at Lowes and was like, hey, the AutoZone opened! Inside, it's like most AutoZones--a big warehouse of car stuff. Some of it is out on the shelves and the rest of for retrieval by the staff. read more

Sent wife to Autozone on Cottle - had 2011 battery and car needed charging constantly so I told here to get a new battery - no problem - easy peasey. She gets to Autozone and she had one of the kids check the battery and he told her no problem battery is good. So she gets back and I think maybe its the alternator so we go to local smart auto mechanic and he says, battery is no good and replaces the battery and charges me, rightfully so, for electrical check out. If the kid at Autozone knew how to test a battery then I could have saved $100 for mechanics time and Autozone would have had a battery sale. I have learned my lesson in the past - never trust the expertise of 20-somethings...how could they know anything, they're so young and inexperienced...maybe experts with gaming apps. The store manager, Joseph, is a wonderful human being and an absolute pleasure to do business with. We came in to check the code for a CEL and purchase the part necessary to fix the issue. Joseph went out of his way to make the whole process as easy for us as possible and to make sure that we had exactly what we needed. While we were in the store, we saw him interacting with other customers and he exhibited the same high level of helpfulness, dedication, technical proficiency, and professionalism. We're fortunate that his store is located very close to our home, but we would gladly drive much, much farther just to work with him specifically. 11/10 would recommend, best customer experience ever! read more
