They replaced the both rear tires because the tread on the other tire was worn. We had to leave the car there because they were so busy. We were told to come back before 6pm, which is when we closed. We arrived at 5:45pm and they were just staring to work on our car. They finished it quickly within 20 minutes. Both new tires look great. Ordered tires through Tire Rack, delivered to the store for installation as it was the closest to my home. Needed them done relatively quickly and delivery was within 48 hours. Upon delivery, went to set an appointment; the only appointments were next week. Scheduled one, but had the holiday off and stopped by to check if they accepted walk-ins. Minutes after walking into the lobby, staff checked in to see what I needed, said they welcomed same-day visit (was early enough in the day). Went home and brought the car back. Check-in was efficient and quick, went to a local fast food place to kill time. Happened to walk back and wait out the last few minutes in the lobby, overheard a conversation between a manager and customer on the phone. Manager did a customer a tremendous favor, I won't specify but hearing that interaction changed my view of the place completely and revealed to me the tone of the service I had received till that point. Service was a little later than expected by about an hour, but within my needs. Wife just started a new job further away from home, so it was important to get this done and go pick her up/have it ready for her workday the following week. I came here with an appointment for a tire rotation at 9:30 AM. I made an appointment for a reason. The guy who initially helped me was super nice. He checked me in, did the tire inspection, and told me it would take about an hour. I told him I would be waiting. While I was STILL at the counter checking in with him, I overheard that someone had accidentally taken the wrong car back and was working on it out of order. At that point, I figured there might be a delay and was completely understanding. Things happen. An hour goes by, and at 10:42 AM I get a text saying, "Your vehicle is ready." Great, I figured it was just a little over an hour, no big deal. I started walking toward the desk, and the guy in the back with glasses tells me, "Oh, it's not ready. I pressed the wrong button." He said they were bringing it back now. Ummm... what? I asked why my car was just barely being taken back when it had already been there for over an hour. He went to the back and came back saying they were getting it in now and it should be done in about another hour. EXCUSE ME?! My appointment was at 9:30 AM, and the app showed that my vehicle was already being worked on and estimated that it would be ready at 10:13 AM. Now I'm being told my car is only JUST going back and I have to wait another hour? He basically shrugged his shoulders, so I walked away because I was honestly too frustrated to argue about it. I went to sit down and call an appointment I had scheduled afterward because now I was going to be late. I then went back to the front and spoke with the guy in the red. As I walked up, the guy in the back was already on his headset talking to the guy in red, so obviously they were discussing what had happened. The guy in red then tells me, "Oh yeah, we just took it back and it should be about an hour." Again, I'm thinking, this is crazy. I made a 9:30 appointment for a tire rotation, we're now well past the time my car was supposed to be finished, and it's just NOW being taken back. He then said maybe it would be more like 20 minutes, which was obviously much better, but I still didn't understand why my one hour appointment was suddenly turning into almost two hours. That's when he explained that the BMW that had been there needed additional work, which pushed everything back. And honestly, I completely understand that. Things happen. Cars need additional work. Unexpected delays happen. If someone had simply come up to me and said, "Hey, we had an issue with another vehicle and it's pushed your appointment back. We're sorry, it's going to take longer than expected," I would have understood. What I don't understand is the lack of communication. Instead, I received a text saying my car was ready when it wasn't, then was told the employee had accidentally pressed the wrong button, and then was told my car was only just being taken back and that it would be another hour. I had to keep asking questions to figure out what was actually happening with my vehicle. And then, after all of that, when my car was finally ready, the guy from the back with the glasses brought my car around and stood at the front door without saying anything to me. He just stared at me in a way that felt like he was trying to intimidate me. I said thank you, got in my car, and left. I wasn't upset that there was a delay. I was upset about how the delay was handled. The only positive experience I had was with the guy who initially checked me in. He was friendly, helpful, and professional from the beginning. This location really needs to work on communication and people skills. Especially the employee with the glasses. Don't be upset with me because I'm frustrated when the frustration is a result of your own lack of communication. I can't wait for the America's Tire closer to my house to open. I'd much rather go to the Brokaw location next time. App shows one time of completion. Jorge was super transparent and honest! Making this experience quick and easy for me. Based on the tread on my tires, I could wait a couple more months until my tires needed to be changed, but I decided to still get them changed while I had the time. They had many discounts and savings for me to choose from. In the end, I got all my tires and windshield wipers replaced for $575! I came here during my work lunch break. In less than 2 hours, I was able to diagnose my car, compare different, options, AND get the installation. Crazy fast!!! I was gonna meet my crew down here in San Jose, but on my way down I noticed my tire pressure light come on. Oh crap, that's all I need a flat tire! So I get out and check the pressures, yeah, I have a pressure gauge in the car! One was down to 20 pounds and they're supposed to be like 34 or so. OK, so I get on the GPS and find the nearest America's tire, cause that's who I bought the tires from originally in Redding. I love America's Tire cause the flat fixing warranty is valid at all stores, and they have a lot of them. Outside of CA, America's Tire is known as Discount Tire, so search for that if you're out of state. I didn't find any obvious leak like some big ass nail sticking out or anything, but that's what the guys at the tire place are for! The store wasn't too far from where I was, so I drove on over. No line at the counter so that was good. The sales guy looked up my car and looked at the tire and said they'll get me right in, since I told them I needed to get to work and can't wait around all day. They took my car in after a short wait and dunked thetire in water to find the leak and then patched it. Rebalanced and it all good to go. That didn't really take too long at all. Final Thoughts: 4.66/5 My friend introduced me to this place. He's come here before for a few of his car services and has had fairly pleasant experiences in general. Apparently a lot of the workers here are car enthusiasts too, so I feel like it would be in their nature to provide good care to all the cars they service. Overall, my first experience was pleasant. Probably not going to be the last time coming here, seeing as how their service is good and prices for items are appropriate. My tires got chewed up and worn out, so I finally decided to go change them. Items: For sale and for educational purposes They sell items and provide education regarding the specifics of what certain items are, how to maintain them, etc. The three main items they sell are the tires, wheels, and accessories. Their website is quite easy to navigate and they give you multiple ways to find the same items. To look for my tires, I looked it up using the type of car I have, but there is an option to search by the specifics of the tire. All the options are provided and then you choose which one matches the item that you're looking for. Service: Efficient Besides waiting for someone to notice me when I first walked in, everything else went smoothly. My information was pulled up and confirmed. Then, we went out so he could see and check the tires. Again, very efficient and thorough in checking all four of the tires. My car does have a wheel lock and he asked if he could get it before I left since he didn't want the technicians trying to dig for it and potentially dirtying the car. Again, very thorough and thoughtful. The workers there are quite friendly from what I observed. There was small talk with me and between other workers and other parties around me too. This didn't happen with me, but I did hear them asking the other party if they wanted to purchase the tire certificates and windshield wipers. They're totally up to you to decide and 100% optional. Just an observation here. Appointment/Scheduling: Simple Scheduling can be done online and they typically ask you before you've checked out and paid for the item. If you just need to schedule an appointment with them for services, that is also an option that is available on their website under the "Appointments" drop-down tab. You select the date and time that works best with your schedule. Something to note is if the item is available at the store yet or not. My tires needed to be shipped there, but that wasn't a concern because my appointment was scheduled to be 5 days later. The shipping doesn't seem to take long. I received a call the day after saying that my tires arrived to the shop. They also offered to reschedule my appointment to an earlier date and time. I kept my original schedule since it worked better for me, but I do appreciate the offer. Reminders: Very helpful They provide a lot of reminders regarding your upcoming appointment. I received a few reminders through text message and a few via email. Personally, I need these reminders for it to stick, so I appreciate this automated system they have. Once they finished changing out my tires, they provided me a message saying that it was complete. Additional Information: My appointment was at 11:30am with check-in time being 11:15am. I actually came in early, just because. They seem pretty packed, so I didn't have the expectation of it finishing earlier. My car was said to be completed by 12:00pm and this was a pretty accurate time. I received the message that my car was ready for pick-up at 11:45am, so quite timely there. --------- Quality: Pending Perhaps this is just because they're new tires, but the drive felt smoother than normal. They did also inflate my tires to a higher PSI that I normally would, but overall, A+ for the first impression of these new tires. Price: Appropriate I'm not sure about other cars, but for Lexus, the prices found on their website were about $200 to $300 more expensive than what I found it for here. Really, I have no idea where that upcharge is coming from. Perhaps it's because I'm going directly to them. No clue. I digress. America Tire's seem to give appropriate prices though. Waiting Space: Some seats available They have seats and chairs around that line the walls of the shop. They also have a few bar seats in front of the wall that connects the store to the service area. There is a window for you to see through, so you can look at what's happening with your car if you get a seat there. Location/Parking: Enough This place is located on Monterey Highway and inside the long plaza with chick-fil-a, Taco Bell, and Grocery Outlet. Seems like a good location since they're facing the roads and easy to spot. This area is also near The Plant. There's the option to go for a quick walk there or wait in their waiting space. For parking, the plaza is quite long and has chunks of parking spots. For a Saturday morning, it wasn't too bad, so I don't see parking to be of a big concern, if at all. read more

After over 12 years of doing alignments at the dealership, I opted to go to America's Tire (not all locations do alignments, this one does). The service advisor was great, the wait time wasn't much and the waiting area was clean with good WiFi (so that I could work while I waited). I Had a scheduled appointment to get my right front tire checked out due to low tire pressure message. When I entered the store I was greeted by employee Jason who was assisting another customer. I really appreciated the acknowledged as I entered. I waited in line for just a minute. That same employee Jason called me up to the counter and checked me in. 4 months earlier: purchased a set of 4 tires from America's Tire. Sunday, 7pm: noticed a rather large piece of metal has embedded itself into my driver's side rear tire, close to the sidewall. Realize this means it's probably not repairable. Monday, 8am: tire now almost flat (5 psi), check online to see if they have same tire in stock at the America's Tire location closest to me (Redwood City). Website says they do. I call to verify, and the guy on the phone says they do have it according to their system, but just to be safe he'll go and physically check. He returns and lets me know that they actually do not have the tire in stock. Closest location that does (allegedly) is on Monterey road in San Jose. I call Monterey road to verify that they do in fact have it in stock. Guy on the phone tells me that they do. I tell him I'll be down there later in the morning. Monday, 10:30am: use my Temu portable tire inflator to fill flat tire with air for the journey. Monday, 11:15am: arrive at Monterey road location after 45min drive. Am checked in by a friendly gentleman named Christian. Says car should be ready by 2pm. Monday, 1pm: receive call from Christian informing me that "there is a slight problem-- we actually don't have your tire in stock." "so it sounds like when you guys told me over the phone that you did have it in stock, you didn't actually check." "um, yeah." Goes on to tell me that they can put an "equivalent" tire on instead, which I could have just done at any America's Tire location. A location not 45mins away, perhaps. I begrudgingly agree to let them install the equivalent tire. He says car will be ready in about 10mins. Monday, 1:45pm: car is ready. Find it strange that new tire looks slightly worn. Think maybe they did this on purpose so it would match the other 3? Also notice that my wheel cover was placed back on, but they forgot to also install the center cap. Air was added to the tires, but all the pressures are now different. New tire is slightly underinflated, 1 tire is significantly overinflated, 2 other tires are slightly overinflated. Monday, 2:30pm: realize that they forgot to put the valve stem cap back on the tire that they overinflated. Conclusion: they're fine, as long as you make sure to double check every single thing that they say and do. read more

My husband was suppose to pick me up from the hospital before he worked at 6pm. They told him the car would be done by 4pm. It's been dropped off since 1pm. Almost 5pm and the car is NOW being worked on. I'm disappointed in their service as this is a huge company chain. No courtesy call on it taking longer than usual, otherwise he would have told them on the phone that he has work as well as the nurses at the hospital waiting on him to pick me up so they can give him specific discharge instructions on how to care for me once I'm home since I've been in the hospital for 2 weeks now. I brought my vehicle to America's Tires for a routine tire maintenance appointment. During the service, a technician broke one of my lug nuts. Instead of taking ownership, the tech immediately asked, "Were we the last ones to work on your wheels?" and casually remarked that "these things break every so often." There was no apology and no proactive communication about how they would resolve it. After I agreed to proceed with the scheduled maintenance, another employee told me, "Don't worry, we'll get this fixed for you." I assumed this meant they would handle the repair on-site. Instead, I was later handed a sheet of paper with a partnered mechanic's contact information and told to call and schedule the repair myself -- even though they acknowledged it would be covered by America's Tires. This is extremely poor customer service. When a business damages a customer's property during service, they should: * Apologize clearly * Take full ownership * Arrange and book the repair appointment for the customer * Minimize the customer's time and effort Instead, I had to spend my own weekend time calling the recommended shop, explaining the situation, and coordinating the fix. Handing me a piece of paper and expecting me to clean up their mistake is unacceptable. I expected better from a national tire chain. America's Tires needs to retrain their front-line staff on basic accountability, communication, and problem resolution. read more

Especially him but this all started the last two times I went there and honestly been going to American tires for the last past 10 years and this location for almost 2 years the last two times we had price problems they gave me one price install the tires and gave me another price this third time happened again but this time we were outside disputing where all this oil came from that was on the ground and we were just trying to figure out what happened and Edgar decided that he would like to fight my 62-year-old father in front of me and my son.
