With a 22-yo Truck they don't always have the parts I need, but for a smaller store, they carry the majority of what I need. Good selection of basic needs and the prices always seem to be fair. They always have a line at the service counters if you need something from the back, so if you step up into a line, just make sure it's the actual line because the aisles can hide an entire line of people. Good news is that they now have a self-checkout line if you just need a couple of items. The parking lot is large, and it's easy to get in/out, but there are always some 'personalities' hanging about around the building and lot although I've never had any issues with anyone. read more

I bought an oil deal with filter, I received the wrong filter. I go back to the store and a very rude older lady tells me she needs all of the products in the store or she can't change the filter. I told her I worked auto parts for 8 years. (It's actually Pepboy's for 8 and 4 years in Autozone.). And that I would never treat a customer that way to just return the filter that I brought in. I tried to reason with her and called her dude and she flipped out and tried to kick me out of the store. I told her the job needed to be done that she had my money and finally another manager stepped in to sell me the wrong filter again. I came back in just depressed out of my mind she wanted the vin number I told her to look up the year and car and if there's a canister filter to please just give me that one. would not return to this location due to the lack of customer service, specifically because of Carolina. After asking for assistance with diagnostics, she offered little to no help. I spoke with another employee who was on a conference call, and even while busy, he was more courteous than she was. After he briefly explained how the diagnostic machine worked, everything went smoothly. When I brought the results back to Carolina, she claimed it was an "unknown error." I knew she was either lying or didn't know what she was talking about, so I went to the AutoZone near my house. They confirmed what I suspected... she was either blind, terrible at her job, or lying. They received the same message and explained it was a camshaft issue with my engine. I'll be towing the car to a mechanic tomorrow. I'm so glad I trusted my gut and not her. Yesterday afternoon the wife and I were out running a few errands. It started to rain. Our windshield wiper rubber disintegrated. We happened to be near the AutoZone Auto Parts Store at 8003 Vineland Ave, Sun Valley, CA 91352, +18187670142. I opted to stop at the store and get a new set of wiper blades. We live in the Shadow Hills area which is adjacent to the Pacoima auto parts store. When we arrived at the store there were several homeless people wondering about. The wife strongly suggested I lock the car doors while I was in the store. She was prayerfully hoping our dog Dolly would keep her safe in my absence. I assured her all would be fine and locked the car door to enter the store. Upon entering the store, I noticed there was a group of people hanging out by the cash register. I now knew my short mission would be longer than planned and got in line behind a man with a long gray beard. After waiting a minute, he turned to tell me that his line was closed, and I should go to another line. This is evidence of Murphy's law wherein the line one enters is always the wrong line. I looked around and started for another line when a nice lady behind the counter beckoned to me, "Stay here Mr., I will serve you". She motioned for the bearded man to move aside and let me up to the cash register. She was surrounded by about a dozen people. I asked the lady what type of windshield wiper blade should I get for our Rav4. With an air of authority she cheerfully said, "There are three type of blades for your Rav4, I will show you". She looked around at the group I now surmised to be an entourage of newer store trainees. She motioned me and the trainees to follower her to the windshield wiper display. She proceeded to show me and explain the three types of wiper blades I might need. Her assistant trainer stepped forward and pointed to the correct blade. A 26" Blade designed for the Toyota Rav4. Then he indicated the need for a second shorter 16" Blade. I said, "Thank you as the gray bearded guy handed me the wiper blades. I thought I was finished and was ready to pay when she said, "We will have to go look at your car and make sure these are the exact blades you will need, please follow me". With that the Boss lady led me and the group out the door to the parking lot to my car. Meanwhile my wife is looking out the window of our car along with Dolly the Dog. You might imagine their incredulous looks at the parade following me over for an inspection of our vehicle. The nice boss lady waved her assistant over to commence operations on our wiper blades. They had chosen the right blades. He quickly removed the old blade and snapped a new one in place. The second blade also cooperated, and the blades were installed before Dolly the Dog could register even the smallest alarm. At this point I again thought we were finished but boss lady again intervened. She said to me, "Please pop your hood." Another young man trainee appeared with a bottle of windshield wiper fluid and proceeded to fill my washer canister. As the young man pressed by hood back into place, I managed to thank the group for turning my otherwise mundane chore into a blessing. I followed the boss lady with her group back into the store to pay. She comped me for the bottle of washer fluid and even gave me a discount on the blades. As long as I live in the area, this store will certainly get my business. read more

Did you know that they will install your new battery FREE here? Yup. My truck battery was about to die and I didn't want to get stuck somewhere in Aug heat(why does it always have to die when it's sweltering?). So I bought my new battery and I didn't want to go home, have my man install it and then bring back the old battery. There's some $20 credit if you exchange the old one. You can't recycle your own car battery anyway! So, Damian helped me and installed my new battery. He needed a little help with the bracket since he's younger than my 21 year old truck! So we got the manager out there for extra help. And he knew where to put that L bracket. Thanks AUTOZONE! You're nicer and more helpful than Pep Boys! read more

Horrible waste of time I took the battery for my vehicle that I purchased from autozone to get checked because it wasn't working and they tell me if still good but just needed a charge wasted my time waiting for it just so that it continues to be drained they did not check the battery correctly even tho we told them it has to be the battery good thing we have warranty on it because I took it to another location in Sylmar and thankfully they were able to exchange the battery for me and give me a new replacement. Bought a battery with warranty from autozone then my car sat for about two months, came home to a dead battery that wouldn't charge. I assumed it would be no issue I have a warranty I can take it back in. When I got to the store they said they needed to check the battery which was fine and it came back bad but then they said they had to try to charge it for two hours before I could get a replacement. Absolutely livid that now I have to sit and wait two hours for them to attempt to charge the battery. I would recommend buying a battery anywhere else but autozone they are rude and inconsiderate. read more

Jaime helped me determine what part I needed for a very difficult situation with a broken mechanism of a door handle to the back of my work van. He also was kind enough to walk out to the parking lot and take a look at the thing I needed then he ordered it right away and explained that it would be in tomorrow Yay! . . . That's pretty rad ..... But ..... that's not even the coolest thing about this!!!! Because the whole day I had gone from one place to another in body shops/lock dudes etc either getting hit on intensively or having people give misinformation or both. I have been laughed at demeaned and hit on intense dirty style today and also gotten no further ahead on what to do about this dang broken door situation. I was so pissed that I was like f this I will try to fix it myself so by the time I got to Auto zone I was complete basket case and I kind of felt like an angry Chihuauha that would viciously bite the next man that said anything about my body to me. Jaime knew how to talk to me extremely calmly and patiently. He is a calm presence and funny too. He really made me feel how a wild crazy kid feels better after skinning their knees because they were clumsy from too much sugar having a meltdown when their dad picks them up from the dirt and fixes the hurt ‍and then hands over an ice cream like buck up kiddo you will be ok. I was actually mesmerized. I recommend any woman who is Leary of dealing with an auto parts store to go see him. ‍I promise he will make you smile and you will be safe with him and if you are really hot don't worry he will be totally chill which is hard to find elsewhere. If you're obviously gay lesbian etc or you're a punk goth other etc it's safe here because all these employees here at this location will treat you with respect and dignity. Seriously just go there to buy a screw driver or a chocolate bar for no reason other than to meet him and feel like "huh I do feel way better now even though I've had a rough ass day". As we were waiting, there was a group of employees hanging out in the back laughing while customers are in line. I needed a battery I went to another place a mechanic that review to follow they tested my battery and said it's not the battery. After my final jump start I drove straight to autozone on vineland. Within a min of walking in the staff a lady came out with a battery tester and showed me that my battery is bad. Next was immediate a young man by the name of Angel came looked at my make model of my car and to my surprise they carried my brand so as far as batteries are concerned they are stocked. Angel was kind hard working and quickly changed my old battery to a new one. Angel also checked my car tire pressure and thank goodness he did two of them were 20s. I am so impressed with the auto zones service. I thought I was going to go through a whole mission since I didn't even call ahead of time to even ask them if they carried my car type battery. Instead the whole ordeal only took 25 min give or take. The employees dont work on commison nor do they work on tips I tried and was rejected. Obviously these employees do it because they care. These employees work hard they answer concerns questions and go out of the way to make sure you feel welcomed and satisfied. So Angel you won't take tips so I hope this helps or yelps you out! Not only is this AutoZone a very filthy location in need of a budget increase, but it's very understaffed. There's usually only 2 people working here, as if the idea is people DON'T actually have car trouble, and the person I had was inexperienced. I had trouble with the battery in my car, and I had no idea what it was. The employee who was helping me didn't know what he was doing, who fumbled around parts of my engine, and was asking for MY opinion on some kind of device he was using to examine the battery. I had no idea what he was using, I had no idea what was wrong with my battery. That's why I asked YOU for help.
