It was my first visit back since the ownership and name change, and I have to say I really enjoyed myself. The owners were tending bar, and they had an awesome musician and a food truck (side chicks). We went for two flight/tastings, which came with five 1.5 ounce pours of your choice. We opted for three whites (Sauv Blanc, Viognier, and Riesling) and all the reds (Merlot, Montepulciano, Chambourcin, cab Sauvignon, and a couple of blends (including a meritage). They are in the process of releasing a new Monte/nebbiolo blend, which I'm thrilled we were able to try. All the wines were delightful, but I was particularly fond of the mystique (Chambourcin), meritage, and the cab. Spent a lovely afternoon here. They have a cozy log cabin tasting room where you can taste your choice of 5 wines for $15. We shared two tastings so we were able to taste 10 wines. There is a large offering of over 20 varieties. One of the current owners led our tasting and gave us detailed explanations of the history and thought process behind each wine. There are 11 wines that were the original Autumn Creek wines and then the new owners have added some new wines and new blends under the label Gioia dell'Amore Cellars. We liked all of the wines that we tasted. Our favorites were the Diamond Girl White & Red Blends and the Embrace Meritage red blend. After our tasting we purchased a bottle of Diamond Girl Red to enjoy on property. Outside the tasting room are a large deck and a brick patio with sweeping views of grapevines, a pond, a waterfall, a gazebo, a covered area and an event venue (where an anniversary party was taking place). So, first off, the name and owners have changed!! Now called Gioia dell Amore and the new owners are amazing. We haven't been here in many years because the customer service was bad but not anymore! Laura greeted us as soon as we walked in and 10min later we were best friends. Now I didn't hurt that she was from Texas and so are we which gave us a lot to talk about but we really enjoyed spending some time learning about her and her husband the new ownership and just their plans for growing this winery. I would say that they definitely have a passion for serving others and have already engaged in the community raising money for different charities their biggest one recently was one for a cancer charity. I'm not much of a wine drinker my wife is but after tasting the Chardonnay which was fantastic we decided to share a bottle and they also have a bourbon barrel aged Cabernet which is amazing. We promptly came home joined the wine club and will definitely be back because it's only about a 30 minute drive from Greensboro. They have music and food trucks on average about twice a month and I can promise you that when you go you'll get good wine and be treated well. read more

Now known as Gioia dell'Amore Cellars, the tasting room is housed in a cute log cabin and overlooks a beautiful piece of property with a pond, gazebo and a bridge...it screams wedding venue and feels very much geared to this crowd when they have such names as First Kiss, First Blush and Diamond Girl for their wines. The lady who was doing the tasting was very friendly but offered no information about the winery or the wines as far as how they were made and after tasting it was clear because the wine is not good. The wine called Jolly was about the only one that was enjoyable. The winemaker doesn't have a clue about how to make wine. The reds lacked any body and were so light and the whites barely had any flavor. One of the reds actually tasted like vinegar. If you're a true wine drinker save yourself a trip and don't stop here. If you're a young couple that doesn't know the first thing about wine and you just want a cutesy bottle, by all means have fun. read more

We stayed 2 nights in Cabin 3 of the one-story quad-plex of Cabins 3-6. It was a 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit plus a pull-out sofa bed in the living space. The attractive transitional decor relied on tones of white-to-charcoal, with natural pine floors, solid doors, and trim to add warmth. Natural light from the windows make the space very welcoming. The king bed was comfortably firm and tall; there was ample bedding (including crisp cotton sheets) and a large nightstand, lamp, and window on each side. A narrow open closet had 6-8 plastic hangers, an iron and board, and a folding luggage rack. The bathroom had plenty of storage and towels. There was no hair dryer nor toiletries, so be sure to bring your own. The counter space, mirror, and lighting were ample and the shower was large with a shampoo niche and fixed shower head. The floors and shower have 12x24" marble-look tiles and the countertop and backsplash look to be marble (undermount sink with satin finish faucet). The kitchen has a coffee maker with filters, a microwave, toaster oven, and refrigerator. There are plates, glasses, flatware, etc. You'll need to bring your own food or go out to eat. There is a small bar area that would accommodate 2 people if a second counter stool were on-site. The living area has matching leather sofa and loveseat that are very comfortable. There are a few throw pillows, area rug, a coffee table and lamp table, and a large flat-screen television with a modest number of channels available. Parking is convenient on gravel next to the cabin. The front porch/deck had 2 Adirondack chairs that overlook the vineyard and are a great spot to watch the sun/moon rise. There is a picnic table and barbecue available for your use. The property is gorgeous, with rolling hills of grapevines and a pond. Weddings and special events are held here in the gazebos, pavilion, and "cellar." The tasting room is warm and welcoming, made even more so by the new owners Laura and David Comer. They unpretentiously tell you about their delicious wines in great detail and their engaging personalities convey their passion for this new venture and sharing it with the friends they are making. read more

We've visited this vineyard numerous times over the last few years- the venue is pretty, our friends live nearby, and it's an easy place to land for an afternoon visit. While we didn't have any bad experiences with the former owners personally, they also didn't seem to have a good handle on what to do with the place, how to consistently engage customers or the community- in fact, some of their actions resulted with the total opposite effect. As of September 1, 2021, the vineyard has new ownership. We ventured out for a leisurely Labor Day afternoon and had the pleasure of meeting the new owners, David and Laura. Their story is touching, their passion is energizing; and above all else, they are genuine, kind, and engaging. If you've written this one off due to previous experiences with ownership or have avoided it due to the reviews, come back for a visit. Meet David and Laura. Ok peeps...we stumbled on a fantastic Vinyard that's close to the Triad and well worth a visit! Located in Mayodan, NC called Autumn Creek. Have you ever visted a Vinyard and tasted thier wine and left saying I hope they make it charging 60.00 a bottle for not so good wine? Well you will find the opposite here! Fantastic wine all priced reasonable. I have never been a fan of white wines but these are all so clean and delicious and the reds were fantastic! Definitely do the 10 tasting! Great seating inside or out to spend an afternoon! The new owners Dsvid and Laura are from Texas (just opened in November) and absolutely are of the best people I have ever met! They radiate exactly "JOY" from the moment you walk in and thier story and thier "why" will touch you to be a fan for life! If you are looking for a day trip make this one! If you are looking for a weekend get out of dodge stay on site as they have 5 cabins available... So, we decided to take a nice Sunday afternoon drive to Mayodan, NC and visit Autumn Creek Vineyards. Whoever built this place really made it look beautiful! The tasting room was a gorgeous building full of wood wood beams windows it had the style of a mountain cabin. We got there and there was a group of three women about to finish up their tasting and the lady running the tasting room came down and started ours. The white that they pour include Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Viognier, Riesling, and a blend of the Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, & Viognier called Diamond Girl White. In my opinion, the Chardonnay was much better than any of the other white wines. The Reds that they pour include a Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sundown Round (a blend of Merlot, Cabernet, and a French hybrid Chambourcin), & finally another blend called Diamond Girl Red (Cab Sauv, Tannat, and Malbec). This star of the red tastings was certainly the last one, and it makes sense as I feel North Carolina wineries should concentrate on blending the Reds instead of trying to make single varietals anyway. Will you do the tasting with some sweet wines, Bella Star A blend of Riesling and Viognier with a little peach juice thrown in, and two other wines with 5% residual sugar made from Muscadines. All in all average wines not the best North Carolina wine I have ever drank but certainly not the worst. As I said before the star this place though is the natural beauty the setting is perfect for a wedding and/or the reception. It feels like your miles away from civilization, but in reality only about 40 minutes from Winston or Greensboro. read more

We visited this vineyard and found the grounds to be absolutely gorgeous! The main building is clean, welcoming, beautiful with indoor and outdoor seating, beautiful views, a gazebo and ponds! The wine was so good as well and they are still in production for more of their own products but they had a good selection of wines from to try and purchase. They were very knowledgeable about the wine they served. We will definitely be making this a regular go-to vineyard!! read more

Beautiful tasting room. Nice owner. The wines not so good. The pours were cheap (Napa no longer uses the poor stops guys) I have just had better for so long a ride. I was also taken a back a little at the tip space on the charge receipt. I paid 30.00 for three people and we did not even get a glass of wine for that and the lady serving us looks to see if I gave her a tip. I so far have never seen a tip for a server on a tasting unless they are super generous. I feel the tasting should reflect the amount of wine you are trying, I would say we got about 1/2 a glass which is like 20.00 for a glass of wine. A little to much for the quality of what we received. Looks like a beautiful place for a wedding and I did love the room. Just wish the wines were a bit better read more

Researched some local wineries for a quick one-day girls trip and was not disappointed to find Autumn Creek Vineyards! We were immediately welcomed by the new owners Laura & David in the very cozy, cabin-feel main tasting room. The tasting flight (consisting of whites, reds, and sweets) gave a great preview of their wines. We all picked our favorites, and no one was left without liking most of the wines and easily selecting options to take home. The cleanliness and coziness of the sitting area was much appreciated. We will definitely return for future visits, and look forward to attending events at your beautiful location! We asked this place several days in advance if our daughter and her friends could come take pictures on their grounds for Prom. They said - in writing - "sure! See you then". The kids showed up to take photos and the owner came out and was the rudest man I've ever met. He said he didn't care what the Facebook message said - he said we can't just come take pictures on his grounds for free. We even paid him some and he still was hateful. He then wouldn't even let one couple walk down there. Little did he know the adults would have probably enjoyed some of his product after the kids left. Not now, not ever again. The location was beautiful! The vineyards are big, with two properties to rent if you're staying in the area. The lady working the counter told us they were frequently busy with weddings, and I could understand why. The tasting room was beautiful inside, with a wooden bar and windows overlooking the property. The restrooms were nice as well. I was not impressed with the wine; however, I typically like sweet wines. None of them were much to my liking, but I'd recommend the place based of the views. read more

If this winery could get a beware of racism and a one star I would leave multiple signs. I can not express how terrible the customer service was from a short older, frown lined, poofy, scraggly, half done blonde headed lady, she harassed me and my friend. We were celebrating my birthday on a Sunday evening, arrived at 5:06pm we open the doors and instantly she asks us "what do we want." (We don't know what they have) upon rushing to ask for just one bottle of wine she asked "is this to go, yall are here late.. she guess we had something else better to do than get here on time" and proceeded to go over how they close at 6 and how we "have to be gone by 6 when she leaves" time passes to 5:46 and we are pouring the last drops of wine in the bottle enjoying the fresh air, and not so much of a surprise we are rudely harassed by this rude lady standing her ground saying "we need to be going, it is 8 minutes to 6pm" and proceeded to stand there looking at us like we were supposed to get up and leave when it was actually 5:47pm. I just would like to say to the owners that if you would like to discuss this event I would be more than happy for you to reach out so I can elaborate on even more details. Meh- There are much better, much more genuinie vineyards to visit in NC. First of all, this is a beautiful, picturesque vineyard to visit. That is about all it has going for it. My husband and I have visited many vineyard/ wineries in several states and could not have been more disappointed! This "vineyard" does NOT make it's own wines- it contracts ALL of it's grapes out to other wineries. It is more of venue than vineyard. We were the only two people in the tasting room, yet it was hard for us to get a tasting. The ladies behind the counter were much more interested in talking about how much they had sold at the function the night before than helping us. After waiting for an extended period of time, we were given a tasting my by a VERY condescending woman. Two of the most popular wines were listed as "sold out" on the tasting menu. When I asked if they had saved any bottles for the tasting room which we had found to be the case at other wineries, she laughed at me and said rudely that, "NO, that's what sold out means." I am very aware of what sold out means. The tasting pours were very miniscule and measured with a pour stop (could not agree with Lorie I's review that these are no longer in favor). She also refused to let us taste the wines in the order that we chose as wine conscious consumers. We purchased a bottle of red to enjoy on the deck as it was a beautiful afternoon and the scenery is picturesque. They did not have an aerator for us to use. Once we were relaxing outside enjoying the beautiful view, we were listening to a radio station with LOTS of commercials- if you are charging $20 a bottle please considering purchasing noncommercial radio (or play CDs). Worth a visit ONCE. Will not return. read more

We recently moved to the Triad area from Seattle. We have been to many tasting rooms around Washington state, Oregon, and California around the Napa Valley. We had a very pleasant tasting experience at Autumn Creek Vineyards. Of the dozen or so tasting rooms we have so far visited in NC, this was as nice as any. The young man who helped us was friendly and enthusiastic and talked knowledgeably about the wines he was serving. Now, you have to put things in perspective here. The NC wine industry is still very young. You have young vines, young wineries, and vintners with limited experience making wines. There simply is not generations of experience with local grapes in the same way that there is in Napa or other older wine regions. Take that for whatever it's worth. Even in the tasting rooms of the most expensive wineries, we have never liked every wine we tasted. Some expensive wineries (Copola) we have not found any we liked, or at least nothing that was worth the price. Back to Autumn Creek - The sweet wines were the stars of the show today. The Mayo White and the Dan red were very nice desert wines. Too sweet for me to have more than a glass but a good finish for the tasting. We brought some of those home to have on hand for when desert wines are called for. Many of the reds lacked complexity and body but most were at least very drinkable. The Diamond Girl red blend was our favorite of the reds and we did bring a couple bottles home as well. We will be back from time to time to see what flavors future crops yield. read more

I visited Autumn Creek Saturday 3/26/16 to celebrate the birthday of a very dear friend. Over 10 of our closest friends and coworkers came from various areas of the triad to enjoy the live music and wine tasting. After the tasting, we all purchased several bottles to enjoy at home. We rented one of the cabins for the evening (something we have done on a number of occasions). After the wine tasting, we left for the cabin to have some dinner. Our friends were not staying for the night, but having a bite to eat after drinking and then heading home. As we were about to begin dinner, a man from the winery walked into the cabin and said that our guests had to leave. The gentleman told us that there could only be 4 people in the cabin. The group was a diverse mix of PROFESSIONALS, not kids out to party. No loud music, no acting crazy, we were just trying to have an enjoyable evening with friends. I have never been so embarrassed and most importantly, demeaned. The man made some broad but incorrect presumptions about me and my group of friends. No one will ever convince me that race was not the prevailing reason that this man decided to intervene into our evening. Again, I have never felt so demeaned. Ultimately, we left and vow to never patronize this establishment again. We have spent a lot of money at Autumn Creek over the years and have brought them quite a few customers who we have invited for wine tastings and other events held in the vines. I will never spend another penny at Autumn Creek Vineyards. read more

Took my family to Autumn Creek for the wine tasting and tour. We were quickly informed that they don't do tours even though the website and highway signage says otherwise. So we asked if we could tour the grounds on our own and we were told we couldn't go into the vineyards. So we got to see...the pond. Yay. No wonder there isn't a tour - there's nothing to see related to the wines. And then there was the wine tasting... The lady conducting the tasting acted like she could not care less that we were there. She gave us no information about the wines other than red or white (duh) and the name. No history, no vintage info, no history of the vineyards, nothing. No visit from the owner even though she was there. Like another reviewer said, you get very little wine, and the wine is pretty pedestrian. We did get to keep the glass. Yay. To our server - I'm sorry we interrupted your day. It won't happen again.
