The shepherds pie and Mac both had twists that elevated them from the norm and really left a mark on me. We don't speak any French, but our waitress spoke a bit of English and did an excellent job playing a bit of charades to communicate with us. The bacon apricot chutney and goat cheese were a phenomenal combo for the burger that made it so mouthwatering! The chicken sandwich was served on a ciabatta bread which was already a win for me, and was seasoned so nicely! I had also ordered a mocktail (and I liked the ingredients). I asked them to put some alcohol in it - and their standard is to put 1 oz in it. If you Google how many ounces in an average cocktail, the range is 1.5 to 2 ounces. This made sense because at the time of dinner, I actually questioned if there was alcohol in it. Ambiance is hotel classy. Service was pretty good. The main host / manager guy was friendly and sharp (as expected). The bartender / waiter - not all quite there in some instances. My escargot was tasty but basically the usual canned escargot and the tomao sauce on the bread was too sweet - sort of an Ontario pizza sauce style. 3.5/5. I ordered steak frites and while the steak was edible it was overcooked medium to medium well. I could have cooked the steak better. Fries were lukewarm for both me and my wife which is sort of a sin in my book. The wife got chopped chicken on toasted bread with some sort of gravy. Her dish was not good. Bread tasted kinda weird as did the gravy though edible. Neither of us ate the chicken which tasted kind of old. Creme brulee for dessert was good. Our family favorites: Chocolate croissants, croissants, bacon, sausage, pancakes, cantelope, yogurt and granola. We found the prices to be very reasonable for all of the options and variety. Conveniently located in our hotel. The atmosphere was very comfortable, clean and the frosted glass, blocked the view to the street, which is great, because there is a lot of homeless belongings/junk on that side of the building.
