This was my first time eating here . I love grilled wings so I decided to try them. I called to place the order and the server said they don't take orders over the phone, but I didn't want to place it online because it didn't have a comment section. So I then asked if I could place the order and get all flats , she didn't understand what a flat was so I had to explain that, and she eventually told me she'll let the grill know. I get there to get my order and check my food and low and behold , it's drums in it. So then another server comes and I told her the situation and she said I could get a refund or they could remake the 3 flats that were drums . Then got the manager and ended up telling him just to make it fresh which I waited about ten mins for . I get home and I realize , THERES STILL DRUMS . And they gave me the old wings anyways and just 3 fresh flats which I didn't want my old food back there anyways because I figured that would happen but let's just say this: NO OVER THE PHONE ORDERS AND THEY CANT DO ALL FLATS . They need to better train the server. Update dec. 2,2023 So I came here a second time and this time dine in. Did NOT like the experience. They literally ran out of silverware and my steak got cold waiting for one so I didn't even want it anymore and on top of that, the chimichurri was DISGUSTING. They said there was nothing they can do about there being no silverware and they can't just "pull it out their ass" . Didn't even offer plastic .. Took forever for food and drinks. Never got my water. Or napkins. Ended up having to order nachos only cause it was the quickest thing to order without needing the silverware . It's a pub. Solid food and nice outdoor area to eat. The spinach artichoke dip looked very unique but the taste was good. It would have been better without the hot sauce on top. They legit put Texas Pete as a layer on the top. The chicken tender and fries were nice and crispy, just how I like it. We were at this place after its renovation since we liked the ambiance and the food the first we went there. They have a bigger outdoor seating and a play area with corn hole and stuff. The play area comes in handy when you are with kids since they can play there while you enjoy your beer and food. We ordered their draft bees which were really strong but not as chilled. For appetizers we ordered artichoke spinach dip that comes with peta bread, which tasted really good. For kids meal we ordered chicken tenders with carrots but they gave steak fries instead of carrots, the service was a little slow so we did not bother to get it replaced, my daughter happily ate her fries and chicken tender that were really crispy and tender. For main course we ordered their black bean burger with chips and chicken ceaser salad wrap with orange rice. Both the dishes were decent, the burger was a little dry and the wrap had chunky pieces of lettuce. The service was good, but slower than other pubs style restaurants. We ordered kids ice cream that took sometime to come and then they missed the spoon so we had to wait another 5 minutes for that, we had already paid the bill so we left. The inside was boring and I wish they had more spaced out seating. The food was mid but not that much flavor. There is limited parking in front of the restaurant. When I arrived all of the spots were filled. I found a parking area in the rear of the business. All of the open spots in the lot had signs that said they were reserved for other businesses in the area. I called the restaurant and they advised me that it was ok to park in those parking spaces. Several tables were inside of the business and a bar. When I walked in the business, two employees were standing at the bar talking & no one spoke to me. After I seated myself & scanned the menu someone came over & finally greeted me. The employees that we interacted with were not personable and barely came over to check on us. They came over when we first arrived & prior to us leaving to check out. The restaurant wasn't overly busy & there were several employees working & coming over to the tables. I got the dry rub wings and fries. While there was seasoning on the wings, they both needed salt. The wings and the fries were served hot. We were easily able to get a table for 7 on a Sunday evening for dinner. Their CO2 was down so they didn't have any beers available on tap, but they had a good selection of cans. I had the strawberry kiwi burst sour which was tasty, and surprisingly not way overpriced for a can of beer. We had the friend pickles to start which were great! Waited almost 40 min for our food. Husband and I both order the bacon jammin burger. Both arrived with no bacon. We asked for bacon, they said it would be right out. 35 min later and told about 4 times they're still working on it, still no bacon. Amazing food, superb service, and the ambiance is relatively nice. I got Brussels sprouts for the first time from them today and they were delectable! Just the right amount of salt. After attending a local event at the Cary Theater my friend suggested we grab a late bite at Crosstown. They have a nice spacious patio area for dining so we decided to try eating outdoors. Service was prompt upon arrival. Our waiter suggested the birria tacos. He shared that the pub prides itself on " authentic flavorful tacos". My friend had grilled wings, pimento cheese balls and a salad. I had the fried green tomatoes, birria tacos by recommendation and a whiskey sour. Service was very slow outside. Our waiter had our food served to us but never came back to check on us until it was time to check out. I understand it's late night and staffing is limited. The food was very good with the exception of the fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes were under ripe and too hard to serve for this recipe. The pimento cheese balls were excellent. Two of my favorite North Carolina southern classics. The convenience of late night hours until 2am, and location is unmatched for this area and the food was good. I love the patio is dog friendly and the staff is nice about it. They have fried green tomatoes on the menu. They aren't the greatest I've ever had, but they are there. Crosstown pub is located in downtown Cary. Outdoor patio area is always poppin during the weekend and weekends. Bar area is nice. Tends to be busy Friday and Saturday nights and we'll as Sundays durning football season. Today we stopped for a little raining day lunch. We both wanted the fish and chips to eat which are always excellent. This time I opted for the fisherman's catch which is a special item this month (probably for lent) It came with their fried fish , calamari and shrimp. The fish was cooked to perfection as always. The calamari and shrimp were unfortunately over cooked. That tends to happen with specials so not mad at all. Slaw was crisp and sweet. I had the French onion soup as well. Soooooo good. Nice and salty and savory beef and onion flavor. Will definitely get the soup again. Next time I think I'm gonna stick with the large order of fish and chips. Lol read more

A gem that downtown Cary has to offer. I finally visited the new location, which is right next door to the previous location. The newer location now has a larger patio. I'm usually in the moment and enjoying the company I'm in that I forget to capture pictures. Great spot for late-night "real quality" food. I have never been disappointed. The staff here are always happy to serve customers and are pleasant. There are drinks special daily, and they aren't stingy or excessively expensive. The prices are reasonable, and they have not tacked on an automatic gratuity of 18% ever! My party is usually small. Great service, food, and drinks here. It's never a disappointment. read more

I've never had a bad meal at Crosstown, and they usually have pretty good drink specials during the week. The food is always fresh and the prices are reasonable. My only issue with the place is the bar is tiny and most times when I go there the seats are all taken. They also have a decent size outdoor patio area. Trying to find parking here is a nightmare, and it's just getting worse as downtown Cary expands but doesn't build a parking garage. read more

Our show was actually done at 4:45 but they had our table already ready for us in a cozy back corner. They had a $2 Miller Lite draft special which several of us took advantage of. We had two vegetarians and a gluten free in our party but there was something for everyone. Daughter and I both ordered the black bean burger. You could tell it was homemade -- big and fell apart easily. It was very good as were the fries. Jan 2024 Happy New Year! Thank you to Abdul and Chauncey for always welcoming patrons to the establishment. Both take my order promptly and 5 stars for service! Today was a first that I could not finish the sides and Abdul to the rescue for me to package it properly. Kudos! A hidden gem, parking can be a challenge and unfortunately nearby places that close at 5pm or the weekend are not willing to let customers use a few parking spaces. I heard and saw reviews at nearby establishments that had vehicles towed by those owners, very sad to hear that news! One disappointment was the homemade chips, not sure if the issue is old oil or using the wrong potato or combination. Hopefully this can be remedied easily. Crosstown Pub & Grill does not disappoint. Suggestion: as lent approaches maybe you can add cod or parmesan encrusted for those with gluten sensitivity. For side green beans with freshly ground or cracked pepper and a hint of salt in olive oil would be a good addition too! Best fish and chips that I know of anywhere in the area. It makes fish and chips everywhere else a snooze or a disappointment. If you like fish and chips at all, get it here. Everything thing seems really fresh and made to order, no heat lamps here, but still manages to come out in pretty short-order. Staff is friendly and wait times for tables is generally short but prime time does get busy. Wings are really good here as well. Again, seems fresh and made to order. My only complaint is that every time I have been there the service is not the best ever. I often find myself waiting to be greeted, offered a drink, or to have my drink refilled. Ate dinner outside there this past week, weather and new patio area were nice but that was about it. Wait staff was very nice, but service was super slow. Hummus plate wasn't great, celery with brown ends, mushy cucumbers, hummus was hard'ish and not flavorful, looked like it was scooped out of a vat :( pita was warm and good, but throw some good oil and herbs on it all! French onion soup was ok, tasted watered down but bread & cheese were yummy. Husband's steak was overcooked (but cheap, so can't complain too much). Met up with a friend for a late chat and bites. Parking was a bit interesting as the auto shop will still tow your car even though they are closed at night. So, we had to move our cars to their back parking lot that was pretty much full, so be ready to wait to park. Combined with the rain it took a little while for us to finally get in the restaurant and sat down. The hostess apologized profusely, but it was not needed as I would rather move my car then have it towed. My friend and I sat in their main dining area as you walk in. The first thing I noticed was the music--sooo good! A great mix of 70s, 80s, and 90s. Every song I knew and it looked like everyone else did too as a couple of people were dancing and more were nodding their heads and moving to the beats. Their menu is on a QR code, so after scanning it I decided to get a bowl of their Chile con Carne soup. My friend got their wings and fries. The soup was delicious. Not too salty and very hardy. It was the perfect way to end my evening. This is definitely the hang our spot with people coming in even at 10:30pm with most places in the area closing at 9 or 10. Had their monthly special: shepherds pie. Don't try it! It was a 3. Nothing special to it. All they did was use minced meat, a bag of mixed veg and threw some instant mashed potatoes on top. Oh my goodness! What a pleasant surprise. Had to order takeout because we were in a hurry, I hate to do that the first time trying a place. But this was outstanding. Tasty hot sauce, perfect Caesar dressing, steak fries were out of this world. Bonus: compostable to-go packaging. Will definitely try again the next time we are in Cary.
