Soo many choices

Always fresh and soooo good. Choose your filling when you get here. Apple fritter was amazing!!!

I was told (by a local) this place had the best donuts of Asheville so naturally I had to check it out for myself. Didn't disappoint!!! Donuts were stunning. They appeared fluffy, mouth watering and came in a wide variety! They even had a pumpkin donut (bonus points in my book since it was the middle of August). I came in on a weekday mid morning and they still had a large selection. I chose the cinnamon crunch donut and it was out of this world. It was light, airy, filling, and the cinnamon sprinkles on top gave it that nice little crunch. It was just the right amount of sweetness. They have made to order filled donuts! I loved that. Different fruit flavors, butter cream & Bavarian cream. Definitely on my list for next time. What is a donut without coffee?? They serve "bitchin coffee" here. Never heard of it but I did like it. They have a classic roast & donut shop roast. It would have been great if they served local coffee but beggars can't be choosers. Only 4 stars because of the service. While I did get served, it wasn't friendly nor attentive. I tried making casually conversation, I was genuinely curious as to what the hype was all about and the history! Employees here seemed to be so disconnected to that customer service factor I'd hoped for. I will definitely be back when in Asheville! Just know customer service is not the reason why.

We got the Bavarian filled donut with chocolate icing, an original and a caramel.

What a cute little family owned donut shop! So many flavors to choose from and you can even stuff with various creams. The donuts are huge so get your tummy ready! I love that it's owned by a little girl-she was the sweetest.

Glazed and a sour cream

Folks rave about the donuts so I thought I'd give them a try. A traditional glazed donut is a great way to set the standard. Light, fluffy with the perfect amount of glaze. Tried the sour cream and wasn't quite sure of the flavor. As far as the service-the woman behind the counter provided no greeting and offered no explanation as she was too busy on her cell phone having a conversation. Sat inside at a "not so clean" table with leftover crumbs all about the floor. Overall: glazed donut -5 Service -nil Ambiance-2 Next time I'll get them "To Go"

Leaving from vacation early this morning and really wanted donuts. Originally where we wanted to go wasn't even open yet so we searched and found Ava's on our route out. Easy to find an adorable atmosphere with bright colors. The selection was great and no wait times!

Great donuts, priced well too! They usually sell out so be sure to get there early. Our go to donut spot in south Asheville.

Great donuts and it's next to Starbucks. Wish it was closer to town but worth the drive to Biltmore Park.

We stopped here before visiting the Biltmore, and while parking was a bit of a challenge, it was absolutely worth it. We ended up parking on the street up the hill near some residential homes, but don't let that deter you. One of the coolest parts was being able to watch the doughnuts being made right in front of us. There was a line when we arrived, and we waited about 15 minutes to order and another 10 minutes or so for our doughnuts. Even with the wait, I'd do it all over again. The doughnuts were incredibly fresh, warm, light, and fluffy. Every flavor we tried was delicious, but the vanilla glazed and the toasted almond sesame cinnamon were my favorite. If you're in Asheville, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

I came back later that evening and tried the original glazed donut and original glaze mochi. Both tasted very unique and simply delicious. The staff was generally friendly, and they engaged some of the customers in brief conversation. The interior was decorated as uniquely as some of their donuts. I found Chestnut on Yelp and decided to wander in. The space has this elevated modern rustic vibe with a southern twist and a little bit of sass. They even sell shirts that say neither hoity nor toity, which cracked me up. Honestly, the atmosphere was great, but our waitress was the real star. She was absolutely phenomenal and looked after us perfectly. My palate was pretty fried, so I started with a Bloody Mary to wake up. Truth be told, it was just okay. The house mix had an odd flavor that nobody at the table could quite identify, and it seriously lacked spice. It was just kinda bland. I noticed a bottle of Firewalker hot sauce on the table, and splashing that in helped a little bit. After that, I transitioned to a mimosa. You really cannot mess up a mimosa too much, and it was a solid, reliable second drink. For the main event, I ordered the southern chicken and waffles. This came with a fried chicken breast sitting on golden malted waffles, smothered in sausage gravy, and drizzled with chipotle honey. It was a really great dish. The kitchen did a solid job with the fry on the chicken, and the gravy had a nice flavor. It leaned a little on the sweet side because of the honey, but it was not totally overdone. The real sleeper hit of the morning, though, was the side of cheesy grits. Those grits were absolute heaven. They were incredibly creamy and perfectly seasoned. If you go, you have to order them. Chestnut is in a great location, and despite the weak Bloody Mary, it was a stellar visit.

Right away the place had a cool vibe, not just a regular brewery where you go in and drink a beer. It had a lot of interesting decor and you could tell they really lean into their own weird, artsy style. The decor was colorful and fun, with murals and random quirky details all around. It kind of had this dark but playful look to it, which somehow worked really good. The beer garden area also gave it a laid back feel, and the whole place had way more character then a normal taproom. The beer menu was creative too. There were plenty of beer choices and I got the Sinister Gaze of the Unapologetic Imperial Stout. With a cool name like that it fit my mood from the heat. With cocoa nibs, sea salt, vanilla bean, and that rich stout flavor, it sounded bold and kind of dramatic, which fits the place perfect.
