Burial Beer is a sweet little brewery with two locations in NC. I tried out the Forest Camp location. The outside area was gorgeous with a decent amount of parking. There were plenty of areas to sit, both outside and inside accompanying larger groups that decide to come out together for a drink or bite. The outside area is dog friendly and offers dog bowls. The inside is quite gorgeous with long wooden tables giving customers a farmhouse vibe. This location has a merch section that is quite expansive. Service was nice, and the staff was ready to provide their selections since it was our first time visiting. My husband and I shared a flight which allowed us to try a few beers off of their menu. Beers ranged from IPA's, Stouts, Lagers, Ciders, and more. Each pour was quite flavorful! We didn't try any food on this visit, but they do offer a weekend menu. From my point of view those that ordered from it, seemed to be enjoying their selections.

Great taproom with tons of options. Bartender was friendly and helpful! We told him what we liked and he made a suggestion for each of us. We ended up getting Hell Star, As I breath Schisdandra Berry and Immortalized the Architects of Sorrow. We enjoyed all of our choices.

Went for a beer on $5 flagship Thursday. Cool vibe, pretty good crowd. Bartender was friendly enough, got the Prophetmaker. Pretty standard pale ale with a bit of hops. Will go back on a nicer day as the outdoor space between the buildings is pretty cool looking.

Our first stop once we got into Asheville. First time visit but not the last. Solid beer options, delicious food and we loved the vibe! Really great friendly service.

Fantastic beer and food at Burial. We rolled in on a cold and snowy night and the staff took great care of us. I spilled my beer in a freak accident and when I went to ask the staff for a towel to clean it up, their first question was - did you spill the whole beer? Need another? That's how friendly the folks are at Burial. We felt right at home. It's a small place inside but has a good amount of space outside. Amazing fried smash potatoes with a yummy chili and chive aioli (we only wished there were more sauce on top!). Really enjoyed the Monday night smash burger and opted for the side salad with it which was fresh and well dressed.

4.75. I'm a craft beer fan, most especially hazy IPA's and Barrel Aged Stouts. Those are what Burial seems to do best. So this was the absolute first place I stopped when I arrived in Asheville. The place is intentionally grimy and dark themed. Really cool venue. I've really enjoyed the two drinks that I've had. Really quirky inside. Has plenty of inside and outside seating. Today is a grey day, but the outside seating is fairly full. I really enjoyed this place. So there is a front bar and by the door is a bbq pot cooking up things. There is also a back bar. Next door is their merch store. I'm only going to be in town 2.5 days, but I'll be back as this place is cool.

We stumbled across this place after having lunch down the street. It looks fun but didn't have time to have a drink. Will check it out next time we're in Asheville

Place was packed on Valentines Day! The service was great, very helpful and knowledgeable. The food was quick, well prepared, and good! We had burger and fries and pretzel knots. I was surprised the beer cheese was cold but it was delicious. Now the best part, the beer! Great selection, the imperial stouts were where it's at! The vibe was great, all the differentiating options. It would have been nice if the back bar was open because the main bar was packed out, but it did move fast. They need to put QR codes at their tables so we can decide what we want before going to the bar. I did eventually find QR codes, after I stood at the bar and ordered. Would recommend.

Oh this place is a must to hit when we get into Asheville. They have a really good selection of brews. Indoor seating in the crypt . The tables with the stainless steal surface are former autopsy tables. Rooftop seating and outside seating. Yes they have food. Parking on the street and. Garage nearby

This place is the BOMB! The ambiance and brews are so cool! I got the Mexican Lager, which paired well with what I think may be my favorite burger I've ever had! I've had quite a few burgers from around the country, but this smash burger just is perfection. The toppings are like Shake Shack's in quality, but the entire sandwich comes out wayyy better than any similar burger. Kendall at the front desk was SO helpful with parking, merch, and beer questions. The bartenders also were chatty when appropriate, helping me with the brews and lots of other tidbits. Highly recommend!

Ask the Community - Burial Beer

Is this good for kids coming with their parents?

We've been bringing our son with us since he was little and he always enjoys it. Beautiful space outside to move around or play at the tables, and kid friendly beverages too. The staff is super friendly to boot!

Do they do tours here? I don't see it listed on their website.

No tours. Not really big enough. But great beers and great vibe. Grab pizza from across the street and settle in for a great time. Enjoy.

Are they dog friendly inside the brewery?

Not inside the brewery, but they have plenty of seating outside! They have a huge area with lots of tables that have umbrellas attached.

Do they have any beverages other than beer?

yes, they had wine, cider, sparkling water, and sparkling lemonade (and maybe coffee). https://burialbeer.com/location/avl/

    Do you take reservations?

No they do not take reservations

Once they opened we went right for the bar to order as it was getting busy with people already on a Tuesday morning! I ordered a flight and my boyfriend had a beer. The server was a little cold. Not necessarily unfriendly just a little curt which was fine maybe she was having a bad day. But I got a pre selected flight and she had me take a picture of the flight list so I knew which beer was which. Idk a lot of other breweries would have wrote it down but a picture works too. We sat outside on their covered patio and watched the river. It started to get really nice out so after that we sat at their turf area and chilled until we were done. We spent a good hour here and just really liked the vibe outside . People had their dogs so we were so watching and in generally very friendly . I took a picture beneath the sign with the bicycles. You can see that on a weekend this place would get crazy busy so it was nice for us to just relax and take in the atmosphere without it getting so crowded. Anyone who is in Asheville should check this place out.

Lot's of eclectic spice and vegetable beers, but the pairings are generally interesting and well done. They also have a few more traditional beer styles, if that's what you're in the mood for. The space is also very nicely done. Plenty of room at the bar. A somewhat dark and muted color tone that created the feel of a slightly rustic and understated space. I liked it. In terms of food, I ordered a mediterranean bowl and was pretty happy with it. Reasonably well presented. Some evidence of investing effort in creating an individualized concept. The ingredients were also very fresh. The toppings also fell within a reasonable balance. It wasn't overwhelming. It wasn't the best salad of this type that I've had, but it made for something crisp and fresh to pair with a pint. All that having been said, my suggestion would be to go for the beer. If you want to order food alongside your beer, that's secondary.

It's quite possible if I'd have visited during the day that my review would've been 5 stars. However, we came at night (well... winter night it was like 6pm?). It was dark. First, the parking lot. It looked like a scene from a horror movie where everyone gets killed. There was no actual parking lot, just some grass along the road where people were parked. There was a chainlink fence gate that was barely open, with an overgrown sign, and it looked like you were walking into a haunted factory. We walked in the brewery and it was only light by faint lights and candles. We jokingly started calling it the MURDER BREWERY in a spooky voice. I see the beautiful plants in the pictures in reviews here and we saw none of that. I have less-than-stellar night vision and actually held onto my wife's shoulders for her to lead me around. They also have a lot of tables without chairs. Maybe that's trendy, but really I want to sit and chat while I try your beer. I don't want to have to stand around. It cleared out before we left and we got a seat eventually, but the table/chair ratio was way out of whack. All this time and I haven't spoken about the beer yet. It was pretty good. My BIL loved the Mummy Cat. We all had some pretty decent beers. However, we bolted after not too long due to it just not being a great place to hang out in the dark. Our friends enjoyed the photos we took and the catchphrase ANTIQUITY DAWNS AT MODERNITY'S TWILIGHT likely stolen from a 14 year old emo kid's journal that was on their less than useful website.
