As a tourist, I feel that research leads you to believe that Burial is the #1 brewery that you cannot miss on your trip so my expectations were really high. The beer was very good. The ambiance and brewery itself is ok. I don't want to hate though because it may just not be my style. Anyways, it definitely is worth a visit. I would go back for sure. read more

My favorite Asheville brewery by a pretty steep margin. The beer is always amazing and innovative. I've never had a bad beer here. The outdoor seating area is spacious and fun with old cars turned into self imposed selfie stations (guilty as charged) and a haven for sticker placements. Bartenders were great once served. However, on NYE you would think that both bars would be open?!? Having a huge line deterred me from getting another beer. read more

Burial Beer is a sweet little brewery with two locations in NC. I tried out the Forest Camp location. The outside area was gorgeous with a decent amount of parking. There were plenty of areas to sit, both outside and inside accompanying larger groups that decide to come out together for a drink or bite. The outside area is dog friendly and offers dog bowls. The inside is quite gorgeous with long wooden tables giving customers a farmhouse vibe. This location has a merch section that is quite expansive. Service was nice, and the staff was ready to provide their selections since it was our first time visiting. My husband and I shared a flight which allowed us to try a few beers off of their menu. Beers ranged from IPA's, Stouts, Lagers, Ciders, and more. Each pour was quite flavorful! We didn't try any food on this visit, but they do offer a weekend menu. From my point of view those that ordered from it, seemed to be enjoying their selections. read more

Went for a beer on $5 flagship Thursday. Cool vibe, pretty good crowd. Bartender was friendly enough, got the Prophetmaker. Pretty standard pale ale with a bit of hops. Will go back on a nicer day as the outdoor space between the buildings is pretty cool looking. read more

I heard a lot of hype about Burial prior to my visit to Asheville. They have a lot of locations, we checked out the South Slope one. There was lots of seating inside and out, and very friendly staff. Came for a quick bite to eat with the kids - in prior years it's been nice and the menu accommodating but it's since feeling a bit run down, dirty outside and really a barebones menu. Burial Beer came highly recommended so we made it the first brewery stop on our weekend in Asheville. Burial has a nice outdoor space with plenty of heat lamps for colder nights. The beers were quite good with plenty of very long names. There are lots of IPA selections, and even though I'm not the biggest IPA fan, their signature West Coast IPA, Surf Wax really hit the spot. Among their other offering Keeper's Veil (honey saison), Bastion of Exquisite Ideation (blueberry + lemon + lavender sour), and Contrast (pale wheat) were very, very good. The food is pretty good. I had the Italian Beef Po' Boy and my friends had the burgers. Definitely better than your average brewery fare. Burial was the only place we repeated that weekend which is saying something. read more

This year...thus far...this has been my favorite brewery...and I say that having visited many breweries across several states...and today is December 3, 2025... Burial is so unique in that they brew something special every week. Stop by each Wednesday to find out what's new. What I love here is that for their special brew...they serve and charge per ABV...so if it's higher alcohol...you end up paying more. Other brews are by the pint. It's all good though...everyone gets looked after. On to another matter...the food. The food here is friggin delicious. I recommend the smash burger or the wings. The turkey sandwich is also great. A good lunch will cost $25/pp. Stop by the retail store and pick up a few cans of local recent brew to take home. A 4-Pack will cost no less than $24. Remember...every Wednesday they have something new and unique to sell...and it will sell out within 4 days. read more

Fantastic beer and food at Burial. We rolled in on a cold and snowy night and the staff took great care of us. I spilled my beer in a freak accident and when I went to ask the staff for a towel to clean it up, their first question was - did you spill the whole beer? Need another? That's how friendly the folks are at Burial. We felt right at home. It's a small place inside but has a good amount of space outside. Amazing fried smash potatoes with a yummy chili and chive aioli (we only wished there were more sauce on top!). Really enjoyed the Monday night smash burger and opted for the side salad with it which was fresh and well dressed. read more

4.75. I'm a craft beer fan, most especially hazy IPA's and Barrel Aged Stouts. Those are what Burial seems to do best. So this was the absolute first place I stopped when I arrived in Asheville. The place is intentionally grimy and dark themed. Really cool venue. I've really enjoyed the two drinks that I've had. Really quirky inside. Has plenty of inside and outside seating. Today is a grey day, but the outside seating is fairly full. I really enjoyed this place. So there is a front bar and by the door is a bbq pot cooking up things. There is also a back bar. Next door is their merch store. I'm only going to be in town 2.5 days, but I'll be back as this place is cool. read more

Solid 5 star Asheville brewery in the gritty South Slope, that solidly accomplishes what it sets out to do. Weird/fun/funky/surreal decor, with ample outdoor seating that's dog friendly. All the beers I've tried have been very good and they have a pretty dang good smashburger as well. Great place to go with a group. For as busy and crowded as they get, they are efficient and friendly. If you were going to go to only one Asheville brewery, this is the one I would recommend. read more

Place was packed on Valentines Day! The service was great, very helpful and knowledgeable. The food was quick, well prepared, and good! We had burger and fries and pretzel knots. I was surprised the beer cheese was cold but it was delicious. Now the best part, the beer! Great selection, the imperial stouts were where it's at! The vibe was great, all the differentiating options. It would have been nice if the back bar was open because the main bar was packed out, but it did move fast. This place is the BOMB! The ambiance and brews are so cool! I got the Mexican Lager, which paired well with what I think may be my favorite burger I've ever had! I've had quite a few burgers from around the country, but this smash burger just is perfection. The toppings are like Shake Shack's in quality, but the entire sandwich comes out wayyy better than any similar burger. Kendall at the front desk was SO helpful with parking, merch, and beer questions. The bartenders also were chatty when appropriate, helping me with the brews and lots of other tidbits. Hopping place! You could tell this was the place where people stop in for a pint on their way home. This was our first time here and there was no shortage of good beer. While visiting Asheville on a day trip I decided to stop into Burial and grab a beer. I've had their beer many times at some of the local bottle shops, and had visited the brewery in the past, was excited to see they were opened despite tourism being down after Helene. They have some of the best IPAs in NC as far as I'm concerned and always love the artwork on the cans. The brewery is a fun, eclectic spot, lots of space to sit inside or out in their large beer garden, with several books to get away and enjoy a beer, including 2 old cars that are now adorned with stickers from visitors from all over the world. There is fun and random art adorning the building inside and out, including a fantastic mural of Tom Selleck and Sloth from the Goonies, which has been seasonally decorated for Xmas. The bar tender was real friendly, even offering to go up to the "front bar" which wasn't staffed at the time to get my friend a beer he didn't have at the back bar. The beer was great as expected. Enjoyed the beautiful weather in the beer garden before heading out for one last stop. Can't wait to come back and spend more time here read more

I ended up trying nine different forms pores and I can't believe a brewery is able to go nine out of nine with every single one of them being exceptional. Came here for a beer and some food. There was a nice outdoor patio with heaters. Lots of beer options and some food options. Went up the bar and was able to order quickly and efficiently. They texted me when my food was ready. It took about 10 minutes for my food to come out. I wish there was a little more food but the beer was great! I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. It was average. Price was okay ~$16 for the sandwich with fries. The meal was very filling. Wish there was more sauce on the sandwich. Overall a nice atmosphere with good vibes! read more

Wish I could give more stars but the service was so hot and cold with the way we were treated. The bartender was very nice and the beer was amazing but the food service was awful. I got a beef stew that has zero beef in it. All vegetables. We ordered the crispy potatoes and all of it was burn bits. When my husband went to get our food he accidentally dropped the plastic spoon and asked for another and the employee rolled his eyes at him. I don't know. Everyone raved about this place and it is really cool but don't go in expecting amazing service and maybe don't order food. Just get beer and call it a day. read more

There are different bar areas, and not sure if this is always the case, but sometimes they have different selections of beers in different areas.
