I also got a small banana pudding cup on the side and again, not much flavor to the ice cream. I visited Sunshine Sammies during my first trip to Asheville, and now it makes me smile each time I think about my visit. First of all, they have some of the freshest cookies I've ever tasted. I've always been a big fan of snickerdoodle cookies, and they make one of the best. When I found out that they also had snickerdoodle ice cream, I suddenly became a fan for life. I had to order their ice cream sandwich with snickerdoodle ice cream in between two freshly baked snickerdoodle cookies. From the very first bite of the Snickerdoodle Sammie, I was immediately transported back to my childhood and surrounded by memories of my mom's homemade snickerdoodle cookies. The staff was generally friendly, and the cashier smiled when welcoming me and taking my order. You can see the light blue and yellow from their logo throughout the interior of the shop. They also have yellow metal tables and chairs on the outdoor patio. Such friendly staff, she had me sample two different ice creams since I was torn between mint choc chip and the snickerdoodle. Both were so great! The ice cream wasn't overly sweet but very creamy. The cookies are chewy but don't crumble when you eat the sandwich. They truly go great together as a sandwich.
