In my case there was an issue with my house that prevented an alarm system from being installed 'as normal'. The issue was unknown at the time they sent me a quote for the installation of an alarm system. Despite a lot of surprises in my house along the way, they still honored the original quote. They went above and beyond to get the system working as intended. Among other things, they came to my house three more times then they expected to (including coming once after-hours), and they added some additional equipment to the setup that they did not charge me for. All the workers I interacted with were extremely friendly and personable, and the steady communication from them at every stage of trouble-shooting the issue was amazing. I never felt like I was in the dark, and I never had to struggle to get into contact with somebody for an update. I couldn't recommend Erker security enough - if you work with them you won't regret it!

I'm disappointed with Vivint for a number of reasons. First, the sales practices seem very…read moredeceptive. I had an associate show up at my house and offer a discount to install the system if I would become a "model home". However, it seems like that was essentially BS. I calculated the cost afterward of just buying the equipment individually and installing and it would have been less overall. Turn these people away if they show up at your door and do your research!!! I had been planning on getting a security system after recent vandalism on my street of several cars, but I regret buying Vivint now. In addition to the sketchy sales practices, I also think they up-sell their equipment. I was told the cameras were such high quality that I could zoom in and still clearly see the picture. Not true at all... even after upgrading my internet. The picture is okay, but not great or crystal clear like advertised. They also botched the install on my one camera, and it's so low that you can't see anything if a vehicle is parked in my driveway, making it useless. I was also sold a better door sensor than what was actually installed. Lastly, I was told my system would work via cellular service if my WiFi went down, which also doesn't seem to work as the whole hub just seems to disconnect without WiFi. Thankfully I haven't had to test it in a true emergency. To top it off, I asked the associate before purchasing about potential price increases in the future and was told my price for my service would not go up. Well, you probably guessed it... prices are increasing. And to make it worse, I recently purchased an Alexa Echo device, seeing that it was compatible with Vivint on the Vivint app. Well, it turns out that they discontinued their "partnership" with Alexa, but they haven't updated that throughout their app/website yet. I'm really annoyed, since that was a big reason for me purchasing the Echo. I am seriously thinking of just canceling my service with Vivint, and trying to sale off the equipment. However, apparently trying to cancel your service with them is just as difficult as everything else. Overall, I would recommend just going with another home security company. Otherwise, do your research thoroughly to ensure this is truly the company you want to be stuck with for a long, long time.

I would not recommend Hackett to my worst enemy. Our system has never functioned properly since…read moreinstallation over one year ago. Our representative has failed to find a solution to the issues he has personally acknowledged and Hackett has refused to refund us the thousands of dollars paid for the system. They continue to call for past due balances on monitoring for a system that was not being monitored. The representatives are arrogant, ignore requests and take months to respond. Service (if they answer- which is extremely rare) can literally never fix the issue. I have experienced issues with them for years now in both my homes, two family members have had their Hackett systems removed and switched companies because Hackett is terrible in all respects. Our experience with Hackett is resorting to litigation. Do not ever use Hackett.

I came to ABF from a Ring monitoring subscription and the difference in protection and service is substantial. I recently was traveling and a storm knocked out my system and caused some strange behavior. I was able to engage ABF support via text message using the plane WiFi and with their help enable the cleaning people to access house without tripping the alarm. Remote diagnostics were run and Josh from ABF was out the next day with a fix and also some additional insight on what my ABf system can do with advanced smart home tech. ABF does so much more than simply provide monitoring and they are worth their price. If you are using inexpensive and basic alarm systems, I highly recommend upgrading with AbF and gaining enhanced protection and peace of mind. They are part of the Alarm.com ecosystem which means it's the most advanced and always evolving in its simplicity. Thanks Amanda Cullen for going above and beyond!

The installation and equipment were significantly overpriced, roughly triple the cost of other providers. From the outset, we encountered ongoing issues: technicians were dispatched multiple times to fix problems, but the issue remained unresolved. I was billed for an invoice and for a monitoring service that did not function. My calls to obtain results went unanswered. As a result, I stopped paying for a service that was not working. The account was subsequently turned over to collections, despite my continued attempts to contact both the company and the collection agency. I am now facing a lawsuit for over $6,000. This dispute could have been avoided if the installation and service had been performed correctly from the start.
