You can get access to a bigger selection of ebooks if you sign up your library card with the libby app. For those that are here for the summer only and wondering how to get a card, you can bring in a copy of your tax record or I believe a utility bill to apply for a card. This really is a nice library. On the second floor there is a deck overlooking the wetlands and bay which would be a great spot to read and enjoy a cup of coffee. The sea isle city historical museum is also located within the library. Now, the main thing that gets this library 5 stars is the kid's programming. We came here all summer and the amount of programs they have for kids is awesome. The library in my hometown still refuses to do any in person indoor kids programming because of Covid and never brought back out the kid toys. My daughter is only 3 so she has never been able to enjoy our local library (Haverford Township) for basically her entire life. So, the SIC library has been a breath of fresh air this summer. The children's librarian who does story time is great along with all the other the library workers. Thank you to those who run this library for providing great educational activities! And for other parents who may be concerned, the programs for young kids here seems to be developmentally appropriate and not "woke"!

The dream of owning a "shore" home was shared by many Philadelphians. The population quadruples Thursday to Sunday during June through August. Not a town of weekly rentals but rather monthly or seasonal renters mixed with many owners who occupy there homes mostly in the summer months and occasionally weekends during the remainder of the year. The beaches are beautiful, well maintained and guarded. The families and beach goers are friendly. Byo food of drink as there is not a boardwalk or commercial entities on the beach except the rolling ice cream man. Great place to bring your family. Some nightlife west along the bay or at Ventnor Coffee. Right next door is the the lovely Ventnor Boardwalk and a stones throw to Atlantic City or Ocean City. Margate's the Best!

This library is on the small and cozy side, but it's a great place to hide away on a hot summer…read moreday. It houses bathrooms, A/C, Wi-Fi, a large selection of reading materials, and several seating areas including four comfy armchairs. Best of all, they have a huge selection of DVDs that spans multiple shelves and ranges from older films to ones as recent as last year. There's also a separate shelf for newly released movies that came out this year. Fortunately, we were able to get library cards simply by giving the librarian our IDs and an email confirmation of the place we were staying at. I guess that makes sense when most of your summer clientele are tourists. We come to Cape May once a year, so we'll be hitting this library up all the time.

Numerous computers available for patron use, several foreign language newspapers, a good selection of music CDs and DVDs, including many foreign language movies. There is a nice quiet study area with several study tables underneath a skylight. In what is frankly a rather rough area of Atlantic City, but inside the library is quite pleasant. The restroom could use a bit more frequent cleaning, although it wasn't terrible..

One thing they drill into our heads in librarian university is that as a librarian you must cater to both community standards and reading level. That means if the majority of readers are vacationing, 8 books on Michael Jackson and one on Jefferson rule. You as librarian buy Steven King, Louis L'amour, and James Patterson. Let Lin Manuel Miranda read Hamilton on his vacation and make millions on a play. To buy books nobody reads on vacation is a waste of taxpayer money in universal library logic. If you need a serious research library, find one whose community mostly does research only as in the main branch of a university, New York Public Library or think tank. That's where the rare, serious stuff is. Atlantic City Public library adheres to the principles of serving its community and does and excellent job doing that. With 32% of Americans illiterate, and 50% not being able to read 8th grade level- and this means not understanding what 'Do not take this medication on an empty stomach' means- libraries provide programs to catch up on literacy and other educational programs like computer lessons for adults. I didn't check but wouldn't be surprised if they had literacy initiatives for the residents. AC Public Library has a nice collection of graphic novels, cook books, non-fiction and CD's. The space is nice and wide open. Yes I wish there were more chairs to sit on. I found the workbenches to use computers and do other work way too crowded. It was uncomfortable being elbow to elbow with others. The skylight is a nice touch. I didn't feel unsafe inside. I felt unsafe outside. It was quiet today. There was plenty of security inside but I would avoid flashing a fancy computer, cell phone or iPad out of doors. Even if it's in a case. I would only go to this library during strong daylight hours. Leave an hour before dusk to give yourself enough time to get home safely. Yes some of the public doesn't smell nice but libraries all over are struggling with the poverty issues their users find themselves in. The area is depressed which is all the more reason to keep this library's doors open and not closed permanently. Libraries have a chance to bridge the technology and literacy gap for the poor. This library is no exception. To shutter this lovely library would be a grave mistake.

Who ever heard of paying to park at the library. 2) They have no plugs for laptops--I went there needing to work, and could not believe there were NO PLUGS--they actually have a note that says 'No Plugs." So I plunk down $1.50 in the meter, go inside, and have to leave because my laptop isn't charged. Really, charging for parking? No plug-ins? Unreal.

I've used this PSI center for all (4) of my insurance licensing exams. It's the only one in South…read moreJersey! The testing slots fill up quickly. Not every exam is offered everyday, and they only have 7 computers at the facility. Also, the website says you only need to bring your pre-licensing certificate and one form of ID, but the last two times I went for an exam, I was asked for a second form. You can't bring any belongings into the facility except your documentation and your car keys. I've even see them ask people to remove jackets/sweatshirts. This wouldn't really be a problem except.... The facility is freezing. Absolutely frigid. My limbs go numb in the 25 minutes it takes to complete an exam. The facility is clean and quiet. And the staff are really great, probably the best thing about this place. Granted, you only spend 5 minutes with them, but they're never rude or miserable, even at 8:30am! The website also says you need to be at the testing site a half hour before your scheduled exam, but you probably don't. If you are, they'll let you start your exam early. I've also seen them allow people taking multiple exams scheduled a few hours apart to take one right after the other.
