I went for a fill in and pedi, which I knew they were going to be busy because it was nice out... so I waited like 15 min (which isn't bad), then sat me in the pedi chair to soak... I soaked for 45 min! My water was cold... and the pedi was the most basic pedi you can get..but cost more than the other places... They did a good job on my fill in and pedi, but probably wouldn't go back due to the higher price ($10 more) and long wait.. read more

Had an appointment for a gel polish change with Lela and pedicure with Kat while Lindsey is out. Kat is great and gives wonderful pedicures while I was was getting a pedicure, Kat removed the gel from my nails to prep them for Lela. After the gel was removed I was informed that I would have to come back another day. I told them I could not do that. I'm sorry I'm not very fond of anyone else in the salon I've tried going to other people and their work is never consistent. I paid almost $30 to get my nails removed for them to not completely be removed. They open at 10 and I got there at 10:15 with no appointment and I was their first client of the day. When the man approached me he had a mouth full of food and the ladies around him telling him how to take off my nails. When he said he was finished for the first time, my acrylic nail was still completely on my real nails. He was rushing the whole process, he didn't let my nails soak long enough and was shaving the remainder of the acrylic to look smooth like my natural nail. I told the main lady that my nail wasn't completely off and I didn't feel comfortable with him continuing since he didn't do it correctly before and he so clearly didn't know what he was doing but she told me to go sit with him again and that she was gonna tell him what to do and then check afterwards. Okay? I'm a nice person and I don't like confrontation, it was hard enough to tell them that my nails weren't completely off the first time. So we sit, he does everything she says and a majority of the nail came off but there is still acrylic on my nails! The woman did NOT make sure my nails were good and they didn't even think about giving me a discount for the hour and a half I was sitting there getting my nails taken OFF? All employees should be certified to do what they do, this shows not everyone at this salon is licensed and knows what they are doing. read more

Beautiful and busy salon. I got an acrylic set Monday 3/17. I showed my nail tech an inspo pic with ombré French tips. We weren't able to accomplish the look but we went with a French tip with a gold outline. Within the same day(about 8hours later) one of my nails broke. I'd love to get the nail fixed but I'm currently traveling. Today, it's been 4 days since I got my nails done and there are now TWO broken nails. I have not been rough, they are just thin and fragile. I believe it's unacceptable to already have 2 broken nails within a week. read more

Nail salon located on outer loop road in the okolona portion of Louisville Kentucky. My wife and two oldest daughters made a trip here a few weeks ago. They had very mixed reactions. We will start with the bad. My 13 year old asked for a cow design and the worker got extremely rude and just said "nope not doing that". Even though they had the design listed as available. She ended up getting a gel polish fill in and was half way satisfied. My wife ended up getting the same thing and loved her set. For both of them it cost $90 which my wife who always undersells place as being expensive even said that was high. They didn't have much of a wait as it only took 15 minutes. I called and made an appointment at the beginning of the week for a friend and I to get our nails done for my birthday . The lady over the phone asked me what tech I wanted . I told her someone who could do a cat eye . She agreed and I thought everything was fine . I arrived at our appointment and the tech seated us and I showed him a picture of what I wanted . He proceeded to chuckle and say he couldn't do a cat eye . I said ok and got over it , thinking there was miscommunication over the phone . Another tech approached my friend and I and inquired about our appointment . I told him I wanted to get a cat eye but his tech told me he was unable to preform that style (hoping maybe I could get seated with someone else who knew how to since it was my birthday and I had mentioned what I wanted over the phone) . He then looked over and said "Oh , you cant do a cat eye ?" The man looked down and sighed and said "yes". This man lied to me about not knowing how to do a style that I booked . When they could've just as easily sat me with someone else who did . I will not be because of the blatant disrespect by lying . read more

While the staff was super friendly and eager to help the service and the experience was not the best. For starters, this was our first time at this location. We ate at Metro Diner and decided to make it a one stop shop and give their salon a try. As we were seated and assigned our nail techs we were given this binder to pick our service. There was absolutely NO explanation of the services as far as their inclusions go, etc. It was just a generic list and that was a little off putting. Next, I noticed my mothers tech using that cheese grater callus scraper on her and I immediately freaked out because first and foremost, those tools are banned in nail salons due to causing cuts in the skin and two, they are unsanitary as well. They are not one time use tools so you're getting small cuts on the bottom of your feet on a tool that's used on multiple clients. Speaking of which, this salon had NO one time use tools and for that They really should be looked into about this so they can get brought up to code! I live in Atlanta and all the salons I've visited there all use one time tools so they're not shared between clients. Anyways, Then, the lady I had spoke very little English so she didn't understand much of anything. She would cut corners with filing/shaping, massaging, etc. I was not impressed by the experience and wish I could remembered her name. Lastly, this was my final straw, she charged me $96 for a $60 service. Luckily I get text from Navy Federal when my card is swiped. When I showed them her response was "I'm sorry, I don't understand English" and while that's completely understandable, what's not is if you don't understand English fully you have no business on a register until that improves just to prevent these mistakes. They were apologetic and got everything resolved by just giving me $36 back in cash but it just wasn't a good experience for me so honestly I won't be back 9/10. Now My mom had zero issues so if I do ever come back, I'm gonna try her nail tech (Ashley). read more

I went here in a pinch just for a fill in. It was about 11am on a Saturday with no wait (this probably should have been my first red flag). Anyway I sit down and tell the man I want to keep the same shape but shorten them if possible. I said if you can't keep the same shape don't worry about it I can deal with the length until I can get to my normal nail artist. He said he could do it. I have stiletto nails and before I could blink he took the nail drill and hard pressed it to the end of my pinky nail changing the shape COMPLETELY. I stopped him and he continues to say don't worry. Long story short.... My nails were hideous!!!! He didn't even clean up the polish on my cuticles. Shape was HORRIFIC! Polish was BUMPY! A friend and I went in for pedicures. The lady that did mine did a horrible job. There are still calluses on the side of my feet, my heels are still rough, she didn't trim all my nails, she cut me with the clippers, she scraped the skin on my little toe raw, she dug the file into the soft spot on the side of my foot, and my French manicure looks like it was done by a four year old. I've been getting pedicures for fifteen years and I've never yelled ouch before, much less three times in one session. My friend got a wonderful pedicure from the young guy that did hers. The older woman that did mine was horrible. Not sure I will go back. read more

I have come twice now and had a great experience both times they offer what you need and what you maybe didn't know you wanted to need! The first time was a regular pedicure and a manicure with the dip gel nails! I had Lela doing my pedi and Lindsey dos the dip manicure Those suckers lasted for almost 3 weeks before I hit my finger in a cabinet. I didn't have time to get it fixed until today. I decided I didn't want the dip fill and went back to shellac gel. I got a French manicure with a twinkle little star extra on top! John was fantastic and very engaging in conversation! They are Vietnamese and speak it prevalently but after I ask what they are saying they are not shy or look like they are lying when they are talking about technique to do whatever someone may not know how to do. They told me they try not to talk about their clients in Vietnamese because they know people can be upset or offended. I love their honesty and will continue to come here for my salon needs as it is closer to my house and they do take appointments. A+++ read more

I've been a customer of Avalon nails for years, the service has declined severely. Yesterday was one of those days that proved to me, its not about customer service. I only do dipping powder so i didn't mind waiting, I asked for the ombre dipping powder its worth the wait! However I was sat with Lee she proceeds to do acrylic . I said "No, I asked for dipping powder" she says "this is dipping power!" No, its not! I asked again for dipping powder and thinking there was a language barrier, I said no I want the powder you dip a finger in. SHE RUDELY, SAID you want pink white ombre? This same thing this is how I do it! I should have gotten up and walked out, but I sat there in slience with tears in my eyes like I had done something wrong! They look like thick, badly shaped, talons from a eagle's claw. I won't go back... when an establishment treats long time customers as if their stupid and a bother...its time to go. I've definitely had better manicure/pedicure experiences. I'm not sure if everyone was getting their before-vacation pedis but they were packed. The pedicure was nice and there were several different packages. I got the oxygen pedicure which was interesting and fun. But when it came to the manicure - it seemed as though the tech was just ready to move on. The manicure pretty much consisted of buffing, filing and the a coat of polish. I'm not a big manicure person anyway and this was just disappointing. I like this location due to the convenience but would visit other salons over this one. read more

Avalon nails was extremely rude to me. I went one day and got a neon yellow color and it was very streaky and almost see through. I went back the next day and I asked for a color change. When I told them about how the color was streaky and didn't look good they ignored it. When I was getting the color change I got five different colors. The guy said "five colors too many" but I just laughed it off. He painted two of my nails and decided to take a phone call for about 15 minutes, came back out to let someone pay, and went back to his phone call for another 10 minutes. I had to get to work and he was taking his time. When he was finally done painting them he said "bye I hope we don't see you again soon" and he was being so serious. It was a horrible visit and I'm going to do as he pleased and I will never go back to them. read more

Went in and they were busy, requested a dip service and they left my nails soaking with acetone and cotton for literally 45 minutes until I took the cotton off myself. After I did this I was finished by Lee which did a fantastic job on my nails so I tried to go back to her the next time by calling for an appt. which they said they accepted and I showed up at the appt. time for Lee and she took someone else right in front of me! When I say this was the worst fill in I mean this was the worst fill in ever. The margins of my nails didn't even have acrylic on them and each shape was different.
