The hair services were not good. I did an all over color and hair cut. I was told I could not get the color I wanted (blonde) because it would take too much time and she didn't have that kind of time. My hair was already blonde when I walked in so not a difficult request. The end color makes my hair look gray, definitely not the look i was going for. As for my hair cut, I was never asked how I wanted my hair cut-just asked how much i want to have taken off. It's been a while since I've had a hair cut so it needed a good reshaping. Only my dead ends were cut off. She knew I was unhappy with the color and kept telling me that I could come back another day to have it fixed, but honestly, I felt like I was an inconvenience and being rushed out so she could keep to her schedule, so why would I want to feel like that again when it should be done correctly the first time. I'm extremely disappointed and now have to spend even more money to fix it all. Just a big waste of my time and money. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The 1 star is because it was clean and the front desk gal was nice. I got my hair cut by Rose and I could not be more dissapointed. First she refused to put in layers because she said it would make my hair look "choppy" but said she would do face framing layers and soften the bottom. Overall had a dismissive attitude and while not outright rude, acted more like I was taking up her time and got me out as soon as possible. My biggest issues with the cut is that I have been growing my hair out for 3 years and my wedding is in 2 monthes. I wanted a no more than 2in trim, which we agreed on, then she had the hair behind my back cutting and I didn't see til it was too late but she cut at least a foot of hair. I'm crushed and already left a message for the manager. At this point I want my money back and would never let someone there ever touch my hair again. I normally would never post a picture but I will as proof of how terrible the ends look. Uneven and blunt. Update: The owner reached out to me and I received a refund. Drake was extremely receptive to the issues I brought up. I respect that he protected his stylist and also understood and agreed with my concerns. Don't be fooled by the Avalon brand - their staff are recent graduates of Fagens cheap beauty school. You feel like a test patient. The leg and bikini wax the most painful process I have ever endured. I left with one leg done and wax all over - paid the $125 full price ahead of time to even book the appointment. The front desk girls are all on their phones and gossiping behind the counter - all pierced and tattooed like you'd expect at a tattoo parlor, not a supposedly high-end boutique spa. I have no complaints about my hair stylist or the various individuals who have provided me with manicures/pedicures. I have been coming to this salon since I have lived in Bend, for approx. 4 years. My complaint is that I am unable to reschedule an appointment at the last minute due to illness without being charged one-half of the service fee I had booked. I was sick and I probably was contagious and did not know it until that morning! There was no way I could give 24-hour notice. I am a long-time customer and don't ever flake out on appointments! I thought I was being courteous by calling to reschedule my appointment and to avoid causing your staff to get sick. The thing that bothers me the most is that the owner of this business is willing to have his staff exposed to avoidable illnesses just to make a small buck and also is willing to alienate otherwise loyal customers. The losers in all of this is his staff! By the way, as a form of protest, I will no longer be purchasing any Aveda products from your store, I can get them all online. I will continue to use the services of the various individuals in your store as I do enjoy my interactions with them and the services they provide. One more thing, to add insult to injury, when your staff calls me to cancel an appointment due to the illness of your staff, I never get a refund on on my next visit! I asked for a balayage like Tate Mcrae's. I left the salon with several different shades of blonde, knotted, and half wet hair. I don't think the guy even wanted to do my hair to begin with because of the length and thickness. I felt unwanted. The guy said it would take about four hours. At hour three after he rinsed my hair he said he wouldn't have time to cut it even though we technically still had an hour left. I could tell I was just some chore he wanted to finish and go home because I was supposedly his only client for the day. After the rinse he started "brushing" my hair which knots easily, but wasn't just brushing, he was racking the hair off of my scalp. It hurt so bad I told him I'd brush it and blow dry it at home. I hate my hair now and cried all day long. read more
