Nail tech never introduced herself, didn't speak a word during the 90 min mani & pedi. It was deadly silent in the nail area with other patrons also sitting in silence, no ambient music, etc. They offered a cheap nail polish brand that lasted a whopping 36 hours on my fingernails. I can always get 5 days out of an OPI manicure and over a week with Vinylux. Far too expensive for the results. read more

While the atmosphere was nice and the nail tech was sweet, everything else was a disappointment. Absolutely no massage whatsoever and my gel polish is peeling off after barely 24 hours. Moisturizer was applied before the polish. It has always been more experience that gel polish is applied first so there is no residue on the nail preventing the polish from sticking. An absolute waste of money. I wish I had bothered to look at the reviews before booking. read more

I had my hair done (highlight and cut) about a month ago, and already my growout is showing. My stylist was very friendly but after spending $250 and not having the lasting results I would expect from such an expensive hair treatment I am not recommending this salon. They are a chain and try to sell products-my stylist told me that the owner isn't in the salon industry, he just owns a chain of Aveda salons...that to me means they are after $$$ and not customer satisfaction. Trying to find a good colorist/stylist in Bend...any reccomendations are welcome! Prefer local, non franchised salons. read more

The salon is nice and all. However, I got lash extensions filled and the lashes are very rough. Like itchy . Not comfortable. I've had others from different salons on prior and they definitely weren't this scratchy when I opened and closed my eyes (it's really against the top of my lids and the inner corner of one eye that sucks . Today I had an appointment for a manicure. Prior to Covid I was a regular customer at the Old Mill Location. Convenient for me since I live a walking distance from the Avalon Salon. I used to see Nancy who was wonderful and did a fabulous job on my nails, taking her time with a great hand massage. I was told Nancy no longer works there. When I checked in there were 5 people standing behind the counter. They did not ask any "Covid questions" like I was told when I made my appointment. Manicurist was "Kaylee " sorry I do not know how to spell her name. I washed my hands well like I was told to and asked her if she had washed her hands, she said she sanitized them. I told her that I had learned that washing hands over 20 seconds with the soap is better than some sanitizer. She shook her shoulders and commented "what ever". Then she announced in curt manner that you have only 25 minutes. I said Nancy never rushed me. She did not soak my nails or masssage my hands, for the same cost Nancy did, She had spoiled me. "Kaylee" said she was very busy. There were no other customers for mani or pedicure and why were there 5 people standing by the counter? I will go back there because it is convenient and ask for some other manicurist. I believe it was Michelle who once did a great manicure. I have had manicures in 4 countries and 6 states so this was not my first manicure. I know what a polite and good service is. read more

I had made an appointment for a very specific and important event. They called me a few times to confirm the appointment in the days before it. Then on the day of the appointment they called just a few hours before it and cancelled it. They said someone had called out sick, but I didn't make an appointment with anyone specific. I made an appointment with this location for a specific date and time. I asked if someone else can do it or at an earlier time and they said no. They were very unapologetic and just said "life happens" and completely ruined our event. Could not find another spa within just a few hours notice, and they even knew of the event from the note I left while booking. read more

I had scheduled an appointment to get color done before my wedding. When I shared that I would like the base to be a consistent color, (which to me meant getting an all over color) with some highlights in my natural color I was told by the stylist (Meg) that she wasn't going to pull color all the way through my hair. When I said the color we had used last time for a base was too dark and I'd like a little lighter. She argued about the shade (she had already mixed up the color before we talked about this) and told me that she couldn't make the base lighter. She then brought another stylist over to tell me basically once it's, it's dark. That doesn't make sense to me because people go from brunettes to blonde at salons all the time. I have done so myself in the past. I Felt ganged up on and humiliated in front of other clients for being treated like I was too stupid to understand her (and her 12 years of experience) so she needed someone else to explain it to me. She barely spoke with me the entire test of the visit (about 3 hours). When she rinsed the color out of my hair she did not put a towel on my neck and got my shirt and back wet. The final product looks ok when down, but like I'm a tiger when pulled back (which was how my wedding hair will be). This was truly a terrible experience! I am so disappointed. Hair day is a usually a treat and something I look forward to. I wish she would have listened to me and what I wanted for my hair instead of being so set on what she wanted to do. I have never been treated so poorly at a salon and I have no idea how to fix my hair before the wedding. read more

Even though she is not yet "on the scheduling books" and I was supposed to have another beauty specialist do my eyelashes, she was above expectations! I had a great hair appointment here, but was very disappointed with my eyebrow wax. I explained what I was looking for, and the esthetician essentially did the opposite. I will now have to take a number of weeks to grow out my eyebrows. Would not recommend for eyebrow waxing services. read more

I love this salon and the services provided. I have been a regular client for about a year now, when I moved to this area. Even when I got a blah cut (which was what I asked for, but didn't love) they got me right back in to make it great. I usually have evening appointments and the young lady at the front desk is so welcoming and gives me all the information I need. As sometimes happens with evening appointments, if the stylist is running late, there is a wine bar next door where you can wait. Everyone here is so welcoming and professional and they do such great work. The Aveda products that are used were my main reason for seeking out Avalon, I have used Aveda for years, and they are fantastic. read more

I was so disappointed in the outcome. Stylist was very nice, but did a poor job achieving the look I wanted. I have not had issues in the past getting my hair light blonde, but there is quite a bit of brown left over and patches of orange (apparently from me using "sun in"). I showed her a photo of my hair previously when it was super blonde (yes, after only one treatment) and she commented that it looked like a wig and probably took multiple appointments. I lost my job in April and have been homeless since then. I finally got a first paycheck and was eager to get my hair done (it has been since May 2019) and it's heartbreaking to spend so much money and walk away unhappy. read more

I tried the new spa and had a pedicure and facial. The atmosphere in there is very pretty and relaxing and the service was great! The woman who did my pedi did a terrific job; I've had a hard time finding a place in Bend where they clean up your nails well before adding polish. Think I've found my pedi place! The facial felt very good and my husband said he could see a difference in the texture of my skin a few days after. I was wanting some extractions which were not included and this was my only complaint. I will go back for a facial when I want a relaxing experience and "me time" but might go somewhere else if I have specific issues that need addressing. read more

Nice spa, but they have a complete disregard for customer feelings. I was enjoying a nice pedicure with Bee when Kylee, the technician using the chair next to me (I think that is her name), sprayed cleaner on the bowl and entire chair next to me from a standing position which put a lot aerosols into the air which made me cough and made my eyes burn. The cleaner has a strong smell, something I prefer not to breath, and definitely took away from my experience. She knew I didn't like it and asked me what she should do differently. I gave her some options and she just said this is how we do it here and kept on with the spraying which just made me cough more. I'm all for having a clean spa, but there are better ways to achieve the same results without ruining another person's experience and polluting the air. I won't be back unless I have confidence that they have a better procedure in place and that they care about their customers feelings. The chair was not needed for another guest so she could have waited or have sprayed the cleaner into the bowl instead of around me. Bee said it makes her cough too. Ugh... read more

Visiting town. Aveda Salon - yes please! Hair cut - for sure "Cary with a C" no way she passed school. Friendly yes, skilled -ha! Left there and went the barber shop to get cleaned up. Staff - helpful, competent , not so mich, couldn't get credit card machine to work, made change for a hundred with fives. read more

I had the pleasure of receiving a Beautifying Pedicure from Michelle last Friday and it was amazing. The salon is peaceful, dark and relaxing.
