I arrived at this Kaiser Permanente around 9:30am this morning. Checked in with the front desk, got…read moremy visitor pass and went up to the 5th floor. Went to see one of my former coworkers' father who had just had a kidney transplant. When I walked in, the nurse was changing the bag that was hooked on him, so she told me to give them a minute or two before I can get back in. I waited in the lobby and once the nurse was done, I was able to walk back into the room. Since I was there, I also went to visit one of my friend's granddaughter. She is 18 and has a lot of health issues. May God help this young lady. I would rather not disclose any confidential information on her health. The care that both of those people are receiving at this facility is SUPERB! Nurses are always caring, compassionate and so are the doctors. I, myself, used to be with Kaiser, but when I got married, we went with UCLA. Since my estranged husband, my son and myself pay a lot less for the premium. I can't say enough good things about Kaiser hospitals. All the ones that I have visited. They accept credit cards and most insurance plans. They have a nice gift shop if you want to cheer your loved one with flowers or balloons. Parking is free and restrooms were spotless clean. 24/7. Thank you all at Kaiser Permanente. When you are there, you are in great hands!!

I will never return to this location for ER, urgent care, or primary care services…read more I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Neha Amin and Charge Nurse Carlos P. During my visit, I felt that my symptoms and concerns were repeatedly dismissed. I was not feeling well at all and came seeking answers regarding significant inflammation, pain, and signs of infection that were right on my face ! From the beginning of the visit, I felt that my concerns were not being taken seriously. According to the visit notes the doctor wrote , she advised she "offered me " a CBC test but yet did not do her job or care to do her job so that was a lie . no testing / ultrasound or xrays , bloodwork was performed here . Yet kaiser has the audacity to still bill me for this USELESS VISIT When I respectfully asked if another physician could evaluate me, I was told that I would need to be discharged and check back in, which was frustrating because they weren't going to check me back in which they directly told me ! I repeatedly expressed concern about my symptoms and asked if anything could be done to determine the cause of my condition. I was practically pleading with them and was emotional I was told that because I was not experiencing a life-threatening emergency, there was little else that could be done. While I understand emergency departments must prioritize critical cases, I left feeling unheard and without any answers. I was ultimately forced to seek care elsewhere. I went to Exer Urgent Care in West Hills, where I was evaluated and diagnosed with shingles. NOT COMMON FOR A 26 yrs old . Prior to that, I had only been advised by them that I had a swollen lymph node. I also have an issue with documentation in my medical record stating that I threatened legal action. I informed staff that I intended to file a complaint regarding my experience, but I did not threaten a lawsuit. I never had experiences like this at Kaiser facilities I previously visited, including Panorama City. Going forward, I will never come to this location again and will stick to porter ranch location or panorama city , they have such caring nurses and doctors !!! I DO NOT recommend this facility. Workers here have very careless attitudes and are rude !

Another claimed that tests he ordered were irrelevant and he didn't know who ordered them. I could go on. I gave them more if a fair chance. My ear kept swelling internally and it was suddenly beyond unbearable. i could hear my heartbeat in my ear, i swear! yet i called the er explaining that something wasn't right. i told them "the dr said 2 weeks leave it in what should i dooo?"- nurse on the phone said "hmm that doesn't sound right, please come in." My mom rushed me back there again. At that point i was crying non stop and in pain I cant even explain. The new ER DR i had ALSO SAID "WHY WOULD HE SAY TO KEEP IT IN THERE FOR 2 WEEKS?" he couldn't find the mini cotton-my ear was too swollen . he said i will now need an ENT because they don't want to rupture my ear drum, and prescribed me pain meds and stronger antibiotics. i was not able to see my primary for at least 1 month so wtf was i supposed to do? fast forward i end up going to an urgent care 1 week later on a weekend and their specialist looked in my ear. they also didn't get why dr#1 said that stupid thing. they gave me more medication & checked my ear in my follow up. the lil thing must have finally fallen out. i thought i'd be deaf. a few weeks went by and cedar reached out to me -or was it my insurance? i cant recall but when asked if i wanted to file grievance hell yes i did! like i said that was 1+ year ago. Pt2: a few months ago I had some weird allergic reaction - i never had allergies before - my lips swelled up about to burst off my face. I rushed to this ER again (forgetting about the previous experience) as i was sitting in fast track er seats (they don't get a room even.) MY ENTIRE BODY FROZE WHEN I SAW THAT DR WORKING THERE. I understand mistakes happen & he probably got talked to back then.. that is fine by me... however HE WILL UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BE MYYY DR EVER! I was wearing a mask to cover this crazy looking swollen lip. I start trying to quietly get the nurses desk attention without notifying him. 1 nurse seemed to not care. SO i said "is this the dr you are giving me? i can not see him. he MAY NOT touch me. i don't care if i have to wait an additional 2-4 hours. i will see someone else." They made me wait to even be heard by the nurse about 45 mins but i could feel my lip splitting at the skin. so i got up again. i then rapidly explain out the side of my swollen lip. they look like She must be ok:: so i remove the mask so they can see I'm in real pain but I wont see this dr. - my mouth looked like LOLA that red hair fish from shark tales x6. THEY FINALLY LISTEN TO ME. (or so i thought) they told me to wait and they will see what they can do- they will get me to see the other dr. about 1 hour + goes by. THEY THEN SIT ME IN A ROOM ALONE I SAT around another HOUR but relived id see anyon else. BOOM THAT NO GOOD DR. CAME IN TO MY ROOM! I JUMPED UP SO FAST & WALKED OUT CRYING."WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?" I asked them. IS HE THE ONLY DAMN DR THERE? What part of patient care do they not get? I CRIED SO BAD- i left, drove myself to WEST HILLS HOSPITAL ER INSTEAD- THERES FREE PARKING & GUESS WHAT HAPPENED THERE? I WAS DOING THE INTAKE THEY SAW MY MOUTH & THEN IMMEDIATLY SAT ME INSIDE TO SEE A DR. THEY DONT KNOW WHY TARZANA HAD ME WAITING AS I WAS APPARENTLY ALLERGIC TO SOMETHING. THEY GAVE ME ADRENALINE SHOT, PESCRIBED STEROIDS & SAID THIS WAS A SERIOUS THING AND TO FOLLOW UP WITH AN ALLERGIST. I WANT TO CUSS SO BAD RN THINKIN about this long experience with Providence Tarzana Cedar Sinai Medical. Whatever! i need to put it in writing not to EVER TAKE ME THERE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME. I FEEL THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT IT. I cant recall that dr name my mind bleeped out the negative experience. CEDAR SINAI HAS FALLEN OFF EVEN BEFORE THIS FREAK STORY OF MINE. I THOUGHT IT HAD BECOME A LIL OFFPUTTING there ever since after the new construction. There wasn't enough bed space but all these renovations, no free parking ANYWHERE always sucked but at least they used to have top notch care. like what kind of place is this? beware their ER is terrible and SOME of the nurses don't care. I want to thank the nurse who did listen to me though and she TRIED to get me a different dr. it just makes me feel like: did they not take me seriously because i am a very tall, very big woman, and a woman of color or did they see my ethnic background & decide lets ignore her needs? i rarely call upon a discrimination card but what the heck is goin on here? pt 1 was sheer mistake of bad doctoring pt 2 was a completely triggering 3 hour waste of my time + DISASTER.

My total was about $150 (the office visit is $75 and the influenza + covid test was an additional $70) but the tests were rapid tests you can get at CVS but hey, they don't take insurance so I don't mind that too much. ALSO keep in mind they do not take ANY insurance, I didn't know that before I came in, I just thought they had a flat fee for folks who don't have any. What I did mind was when I called back today, I needed an accommodation letter or note for my job so they have documentation that allows me to work from home and whoever answered was quite rude (a male that wasn't the receiptionist woman I had seen before and also wasn't Dr. Gluzman). The itemized receipt was also... interesting & I'm just hoping my HSA doesn't put a hold on my account because of it. What's also interesting was some of the political commentary on Biden & queer folks that seemed unnecessary (I'm a lesbian so it probably bothered me more than it would others but I'm also good at ignoring stuff like this lol) but other than that they were kind and got me in & out. Unfortunately I did test positive for COVID but at least this Dr. even thought to test me for that, the last urgent care doctor didn't even think to do that.

The staff here was kind of friendly, felt a little disorganized at times with not knowing where things were or lacking things like tissues in the room. The doctor was quick, and offered additional tests if I wanted. Not super personable or anything, which not sure is expected at an urgent care? The one thing that really bothered me was that I could hear the staff talking to each other and with the doctor about my condition outside of my room, loudly. My door was even closed and I could hear it all. I didn't have anything super crazy going on that would be confidential to share, but still felt a little unprofessional. I would come back here if I were in a pinch, but might explore other options in the future.
