So, I drove on down. The employee was a heavier set guy. He walked into the store a few minutes after we did and he went to the front counter. So, I walked up to him and was greeted. Told him i was looking for a specific type of jacket, which was a steampunk style jacket. the ones ive seen at Spirit look kind of cool, but never fit. I also told him kind of any long trenchcoat style jacket would work. They did not have what i was looking for and i was told to come back closer to Halloween when they get the Halloween stuff. Ok, I thought this was a year round place, guess not, but no big deal. Well, we did find a long trenchcoat style jacket that worked. There were two prices on the tag, so i asked him about the pricing since i had no clue why there were two. He said thats a rental. He said almost everything in there is rentals. Ok, fine, even Keith's i had no clue about this before coming in, but no problem. Here's the parts where the ONE STAR comes in. I did not know when i came in, but there was another customer in the store behind a partial wall from where i was. So he was fairly close, but I couldn't see him. At one point the amazing employee walked back to that guy and made some snide comment about "steampunk boy over there" to the customer. Sounded to me like they knew each other, at least somewhat. Thats when i saw the customer come around the other side of the wall trying something on. He to made some comment that i dont recall. Well, getting ready to leave, the employee comes back and tries to take me to the hats. He told me i needed a hat. I said no thats fine, I'll be wearing a mask so theres no need for a hat. He seemed to positively acknowledge that, but then he opened his mouth again and was a little nasty telling me if im wanting a steampunk jacket i will need a hat. So basically i reiterated what i had told him but was much more stern and told him im good. So heres the pros and cons of this place. PROs - A ton of costumes. CONs - Nasty employee. Place is WAAAYYYY too small for the amount of crap they have, it's hard to walk in there in some spots. Employee not very helpful and not very knowledgeable. Reason for ONE STAR? Nasty employee. Keeping in mind this was my first time here, with my kid. Would have looked around for a while longer and possibly found something, or something for my kid, but not after the way this guy treated me. Also, if you are mostly rental, but have some items for sale, wouldn't it make sense to have a small section for the items that are for sale? I mean, if that was the case, I easily could have looked in the for sale area (which there isnt one) and seen if i could find something or not. BOOOOO for Gasoline Alley. If you want the rental and want no help, go here. Otherwise, maybe check out Halloween Boutique in Costa Mesa, Triangle Square. Just place, organized and way more selection.

There's a decent selection of everything you could possibly be looking for, but they're outdated and it feels like someone's trying to offload a bunch of things they've been keeping in storage. Overall if you don't want to shop online and want to look at Halloween things in-person, it might be worth a look. "Kreep Halloween - Sherman Oaks" but use the same everything else. It's a huge emporium of all things costume, cosplay and halloween from awesome wigs and accessories to incredible masks, props, replica weapons and beyond. There's sections and areas for all ages, sizes and genders. Outstanding holiday decor from the moment you cross the threshold and are greeted by their friendly security and/or helpful staff. I wanted to check out the lay of the land, this being the former Joann's (Fabrics, before they went out of business) and often a Spirit Halloween location prior to that. Honestly enjoyed Kreepy Halloween and while it was a little chaotic, over packed with product and the week of all hallow's eve, everyone does their part to assist and keep this store up. A lot of the Joann's signs are still up and/or very visible, which is to be expected with such a short turnaround time. I believe this store physically opened here in August and additionally there is a Kreepy Halloween in Los Feliz as of October, second location. Customer service is personable for sure, however the line was a little confusing with not the best clear signs to guide you or markers to let you know where the line physically starts. They had me go up past the first few registers not in use to just behind a gap where employees enter and exit... I made sure there was room and didn't stand in the way of the opening, but no indicators, marks or instruction for this that I could noticeably see... Other than that, they did have up to four to five registers open and the line moved quickly. Reasonable prices and parking both underground and on the ground level at the Riverside-Woodman plaza on the corner of the streets of the same names - diagonal from Notre Dame High.

So the wands are pricy. They range from $20-30ish, so with 2 kids that's an investment. You can get…read moretoppers to further accesorize for an additional $15-20. And then you have to pay an additional $15 for quests or $5 if you just want it to interact with the items throughout the hotel, basically light up or play some sounds. Of course our young kids loved it. They ran around the hotel pointing at whatever picture frames, treasure chests, or random objects they could find. The wands light up when you flick it. They're sturdy, dropped multiple times, even from the top bunk, and still working fine. So for the entertainment, worth it for the kids. *Shakes fist at the man* you win this round... They do have packages that can save you money. But you can't get the cheapest pass, the pup pass. You need to get the other 2 tiers, so at least $70 for the paw pass. It does drop the price of wands significantly. And you only need one pass and can buy multiple items for the pass price. So may be worth it for some...

MagiQuest Store is located inside the Great Wolf Lodge at L1, their basement level, next to the…read moreWaterpark entrance. My family stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge during a summer vacation and one of the features that was included on my daughter's Wolf Paw Pass with the MagiQuest game. The MagiQuest store has a variety of wands, wand toppers, magical themed clothing like a wizard's robe and so much more! The magical mission also starts at the MagiQuest Store. We spent around 6 hours, two different days, attempting to complete the mission. There are 5 main areas where you'll be traversing, often, for parts of the mission. The 6th floor, 5th floor, 4th floor, lobby, and the waterpark area. The easiest way is using the elevator, however, it can get busy during the early morning, with hotel guests checking out, and between 7-8 when the waterpark closes. There are three main missions which is the Pixie, Goblin, and then the Dragon. My daughter and I completed the Pixie/Goblin, which took us about 6 hours. Next time we go back there, we'll have to complete the dragon quest. There are quiet hours in the hotel from 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. which you'll be unable to work on the MagiQuest game, however, it does turn on around 9:00 A.M each morning. This was a lot of fun and my daughter really enjoyed it. I would recommend planning to spend a whole day doing the MagiQuest. There is a lot of back and forth quests from the magi portal, including gather items, multiple times, on different hotel floors.
