It was our third visit to a Spirit Halloween store this season and this location was by far the best one in OC with almost all working animatronic decorations on display. We only came to peruse the decorations and ready to use a 20% off store coupon. The store was clean, bright, and nicely laid out and organized. Spirit Halloween is our favorite Halloween store. Amazing selection of costumes. However, they lack on their animatronics displays. Staff is not the friendliest. They would not honor a 20% off one item coupon that I couldn't load due to their poor WiFi connection. Great selection of wigs, nails, accessories, costumes, you name it. I haven't had an issue with the workers, they seemed fine to me. But I really like this store, it has a wide variety of Halloween stuff and I happen to be a huge fan of Halloween so I had a blast here. The prices could be better, but everything goes up with inflation. Gas prices are ridiculous, but we all have to get around. I guess I'm used to these places being cheap, having liquidation prices but I was happy with what I bought. Plus it was cool buying decorations, this place was fun. read more

Now that Halloween is a holiday (with NO relatives) rather than a quick candy-grabbing expedition of yore, we've had to go farther and farther to find a good costume for the second born. Spirit Halloween was the only spot that had the plague doctor outfit, complete with giant tweezers, cane and mask which the second born wanted...maybe to celebrate our Northern heritage what with plagues, religious war, war that causes plagues, etc. Back when a plague doctor had a Dr. Fauci-like control over the populace. The plague doctor costume has held up well after 2 parties, a day at school, trick or treating in Newport's low rent district, and the cousins' trunk or treat shindig. No socialistic trunk-or-treating for the second-born, where 200 kids wait in line in front of 11 car trunks to get 11 pieces of sh*tty peanut-free candy such as little bags of Skittles, raisins, juice boxes, hand sanitizer, and inch-square Milky Ways. Nope.... It's up the hill to the Port Streets for a 3-hour REAL trick or treat candy extravaganza where the second born will realize that working hard has its rewards...3 pillowcases worth...of cool candy. I mean stuff with peanuts in them like 2-packs of Reese's (the Gold Standard), giant Snickers bars, giant Milky-Way bars, Twix bars, lovely M and M variants. The second born might even learn philanthropy, donating candy to the first born and the parents who will reward in kind.... And if I see one more brunhilde handing out Pirate's Booty out of the back of her Prius, I will puke all over those over-costumed blooters who are having more fun than the kids pretending they are at a Renaissance Faire. read more

I must of walked in a day before Halloween and the actual shop appeared to be dismantle. I was just looking for nothing really. Just looking and it over all it all looked overly manhandled. The kids working looked like they were trying to rush ppl out of the cashier line as soon as possible. Reasonable prices but keep in mind that everything looked like it was made in china. Tip #1: Sign up for the e-mail blasts as they always send out 20% coupons or offer big discounts online if you plan ahead. Tip #2: Go early. The closer you get to Halloween, the more picked over the store will be and you'll be facing some decent lines to check out. We've been coming here the past few years to buy costumes and or accessories for our holiday getups and if we're lacking inspiration, a quick walk around the store usually puts us on some sort of path to where we want to be. They usually have a good selection to choose from and there were plenty of people to ask questions to around the store if we needed help. For the most part, everything they have in stock costume wise is on the floor, but it never hurts to ask just in case! It is kinda cool that they work with CHOC and do donations for the organization. There's always a way to give back, even during the spookiest season of them all! read more

A bummer they are the only spirit Halloween that I've seen who doesn't have the new Myers kills mask. Many YouTube vids and friends from other areas showed they keep them in the back due to high theft. I asked if they had any in the back but they shrugged their shoulders and said come back durring hour delivery days, any time between Friday Saturday, Sunday. I've gone everyday for 6 days and even after the store is fully stocked still no kills masks. Friends from an hour away + in all different cities have texted me their local spirit has them. Weird. Everything else is kinda pricey for how low quality it is. read more

It's small compared to other Spirit Halloween places but that's expected of a pop up shop. It has a good variety of costumes for all ages. You can be a werewolf or a fairy or even a demonic baby. There's a lot you can choose from whether it's something simple to fabulous to downright scary. There's also a good variety of props and makeup. I just thought it was kind of lame that not all of their props worked when I would step or press on a "Press Here" button. Overall, not a bad Halloween pop up shop. read more

They still had plenty of the awesome costumes, props, and other random cool things that Spirit stores have. This store isn't located @ the Yelp address listed it's inside by the shops closer to the movie theater unfortunately this is also the closest store to South OC this year! Their Staff wasn't very helpful but it looked like they needed more people working for how many customers were in the store on a Saturday. This is also one of the smallest Spirit stores I've ever been to it was really hot inside and all the different costumes were kinda mixed together no displays and poorly decorated! read more
