This place sucks. Since when are crinkle cut French fries (striped potatoes) and fried hot dogs Colombian food? What a joke.

Off the beaten path but a great experience!…read more We went in and asked the staff for recommendations and they did not disappoint! They were very helpful in guiding us in selecting pupusas and an entree. Also very attentive. The pupusas were delicious! Served with two sauce choices and I believe a fermented/pickled cabbage. We ordered the Bandeja Salvatrucho. The chicken was well seasoned and the steak was tender! The shrimp tasted fresh and were a great size. We tried their flan as well and were stuffed by the end our our meal! Give this authentic Salvadorian restaurant a visit! Check out the store in the back while you are there. Great for larger parties as well due to the larger space and many tables.

I came back a second night in a row to introduce my daughter. Majority of the menu is naturally GLUTEN FREE which is perfect for her. Their specialty, and their namesake, is the PUPUSAS. They are a corn or rice griddle cake (I chose corn) that is stuffed with ingredients such as meat, beans and cheese. It is optionally topped with a tomato salsa sauce and tangy pickeled cabbage slaw. Pretty much everything (if not everything) is HOUSE MADE, including the sauces. They also offer a green habanero sauce which is very spicy but also very flavorful! TIPS: Be sure to top the pupusa with one of the sauces and a little pickled cabbage. It is an amazing marriage of flavors. I recommend two pupusas and a side. If no side then you could order three pupusas. Over my two visits, I ordered: REVUELTA PUPUSA (cheese, beans, pork filled), the traditional pupusa in El Salvador. It was my favorite of all that I have eaten. QUESO/CARNE ASADA PUPUSA (Cheese and Steak) which was my second favorite. QUESO/CHORIZO (Cheese and Chorizo Sausage) could have used more chorizo or else a stronger flavored chorizo. It wasn't bad, but the cheese dominated. QUESO/JALAPENO (Cheese and Jalapeno) was also dominated by the cheese and could have used more pepper flavor. For sides, you must order the PLATANOS DELUXE, which is sweet plantains with Salvadorian cream and cheese. The plantains are delicious on their own, but there is a culinary explosion of goodness when you top the plantain with a little Salvadoran cream and a little piece of cheese. The YUCA FRIES were delicious, especially when dipped in the provided fry sauce. Finally, you must try the hot drink ATOL DE ELOTE (creamy corn pudding drink). It is made with milk and corn, which is slightly thickened and sweetened. The staff is very welcoming and includes members of the family from this family business. The seating area is very casual, and feels like a cafeteria. They place multiple tables together to support large groups. The word JIREH in the restaurant name is a Biblical term that means "God will Provide". This is truly a wholesome business.

My fav Colombian food!…read more Love the burger and churrasco. And the empanadas are amazing.

Stumbled upon the place in Park circle and we were intrigued by the menu…read more We came in with a group of 5 girls and it wasn't too busy. We had A LOT of questions but our server was very helpful in explaining some of the dishes but more importantly the pictures helped greatly. The passionfruit and spicy marg were both delicious. We all tried something different when it came to the food so we could share. The trio empanadas were banging! Crispy outside and filling inside was tasty accompanied by 2 dipping sauces. You got one cheese, chicken and beef unless specified. My friend and I shared the "Max dog" which was topped with fried potato sticks, mozzarella cheese, pulled chicken, pulled beef and corn mixed in their house made tártara sauce, smoked bacon, and house made pineapple sauce. It was an epic hotdog for sure, a bit hard to eat so we had to break it down a bit lol it had a lot of textures and flavors. The mozzarella kind of fell off since it got hard so I really didn't eat it with the hot dog and enjoyed it as is. We also got a chicharrona arepa which was a Colombian Arepa (corn flat bread), pulled beef, chicharron (fried pork belly), sweet plantain, mozzarella cheese house made tártara sauce. If you haven't had an arepa it's a must try! If you love corn and protein then you will enjoy the maiz Bonito which was a bed of corn, layered with grilled chicken, gilled steak, smoked bacon, potato sticks, colombian sausage, mozarella cheese, tártara sauce, pineapple sauce. The pineapple sauce is delicious and helps cut through all the savoriness that can be a bit overwhelming. Lastly my friend also had the chuleta which was a t bone steak grilled and topped with chimichurri. The only thing I will say with the service was that we didn't see our server after the entrees were dropped and had a hard time finding her when we were trying to get boxes and pay. Eventually someone else assisted us and found her but it was quite a delay towards the end. Overall we did enjoy our experience here with this cuisine and I actually came back not too long after with a different group of friends. I do think the pace of service can improve as a whole.

Pollo Loko - North Charleston, SC…read more The wife and I stopped into Pollo Loko for a quick lunch, not expecting much... and wow, what a surprise this place turned out to be. First off, the customer service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel appreciated from the moment we walked in. You don't always get that kind of attention these days, so it really stood out. The restaurant itself was spotless, well-kept, and had a great vibe. You can tell they take pride in the place. Now let's talk about the food -- because this is where they really shine. We started with the empanadas, which were absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. For our main, we ordered the Peruvian chicken, served with fries and rice, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired incredibly well with their signature sauces -- seriously, those sauces take everything to another level. Even the salad was fresh and tasty, which says a lot because that's usually an afterthought at most places. On top of that, they've got a great selection of sodas and other drinks, making it a perfect stop for a casual lunch. Bottom line: An unexpected gem with amazing food, top-tier service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. **Highly recommend -- 5 stars, 3 thumbs up from us.

This is a fast casual style restaurant and not a real fancy place. My picky colleague who's never had peruvian ordered the ribs. Quesadiladas - you get 2 in an order and these are different than Mexican ones since they have grilled bell peppers and onions. A bit pricy too...the rice and beans that come with this are just average. They only had 2 salsas for the table, a green ranch like one and a red spicy one similar to a spicy Mexican red sauce. I'm still looking for a peruvian restaurant that has the spicy green sauce that most all peruvian restaurants have in California.
