Cute little spot right in downtown North Charleston. My husband and I weren't sure what we wanted to grab for a late lunch/early dinner upon our arrival to the area, but when we walked upon Ciudad Bonita we quickly decided to give it a try. The staff was very nice and our server was excellent. We wanted to sit outside and enjoy the fresh coastal air and they offer a few small tables right out front. They also have a large back patio, but for some reason it felt 10 degrees hotter back there so we opted for the out front. It's sort of Colombian-fusion cuisine with the side sushi menu and I had to go for it. Both rolls were about an 8/10, but unfortunately but husbands pork belly bowl was a mere 5/10 if that. The pork belly was very hard and tough and not a whole lot of flavor. Great ambiance, but if we were to come back we would definitely order and try other menu items.

It's a shame they have like ten big TVs on the walls just showing menu items but otherwise I like the neon and tropical vibes. Decent food, GREAT sweet plantains. One of the waiters was very attentive.

I'll be thinking about this wonderful experience for a long time. We were in town for the holiday and came to Ciudad Bonita for lunch. The space is bright and fun. They have a really nice setup. We enjoyed some of their delicious beverages. I had the guanábana (soursop) juice and I tried my date's mint lemonade and both were delicious. I couldn't pass up on the sancocho. I went with the smaller portion and it was DELICIOUS. Absolute perfection. I also had their lunch special which was pork, rice, and salad. It was excellent. My companion had the lunch steak and it was wonderful as well. The food and drinks are appropriately priced. The staff are friendly and make you feel right at home. We even got a cup of their Colombian coffee to go. This restaurant is a total gem. Check it out!

Pretty ambiance restaurant that has a colorful forest theme to it. Service was quick and friendly. The food here was decent. This spot is located near Park Circle so it's a good spot if you're looking for Columbia food and a spot to drink!

We stopped by Ciudad Bonita to check out another Park Circle establishment. First impression, the interior was well decorated with bright colors, good eye appeal. The interior was alive with patrons enjoying their night at the bar or seated at a table. The cocktail menu has lots to offer, and we tried 3 different ones. Then we enjoyed some empanadas with the chicken being the best. Overall it was a nice place, lots to offer, with friendly service and a good experience

My friends and I met up here for book club this evening and we really enjoyed the vibe + food here! The inside of the restaurant is fun and has such colorful decorations. We were sat right away and the food didn't take long to come out. Our waitress was also pretty helpful in giving food selections. This is also a good place to watch soccer. Although I am not an avid watcher, there were a lot of people here to watch the game tonight.

I went here for the drag brunch during Pride and it was super cute and colorful. We were seated and helped right away. They had an eclectic drink menu but the food menu was a bit lacking in my opinion. The empanadas were good but pretty pricey for 3 small ones($15). I would prob come back for drinks!

My local B2B networking group has an in-person leadership meeting monthly. We always want to support local, and since our meetings are weekly on Monday's, there are a lot of local spots closed. But not Ciudad Bonita! With an 11:30 meeting time we got sat right away. Our server Danny was fantastic. Everyone choose a lunch special except for me. I got the Patacones. It's a fried plantain covered with a meat, sauce, and chutney. Since you get 3 I tried all three meats, chorizo, chicken, and steak. All 3 meats were delicious and so is their house made tartara sauce. I'm not sure what the "chutney" style stuff on top was, but it was delicious too. The only thing I didn't care for and only had a couple bites of were the plantains. Mine were cold and overcooked. I love a double smashed plantain, lightly pan seared and served hot! That's what I was hoping for, but did not receive. There were 5 of us and everyone enjoyed their meals. From 12 to 12:30 business really picked up and that makes me happy! NOTE our party of 5 had an automatic 18% gratuity added. They take cash and cards and the server carries a machine that allows for you to pay with them right at the table.

Great vibes and cocktails. Food from others looked and smelled great. Will definitely go back to eat. Backyard courtyard is a dope spot to hang.

Two of us came in on a Saturday for a late lunch. We were looking for more than a snack but less than a full meal because we had dinner plans coming up. We were seated towards the back at a table and there was some confusion over who was cleaning the table, vs drink orders, vs food orders but they figured it out. Although throughout our meal we didn't really know who our actual server was. We decided to share the empanadas and the Columbianita arepa that came with fries. They didn't have beef empanadas so we got two chicken and one cheese. Then we ordered a couple of the juices. Again, they only had one juice available of the ones we ordered so my friend was convinced that mango lemonade would be a good substitute for the mango juice. It was very sweet and neither of us drank it, but the passion fruit juice was good. The food was delicious, but I think it's a bit overpriced for what you're getting. The empanadas (which they didn't have one of) were $15 for 3 making them five bucks a piece. The arepa looked a little small at first but they really stuff it and we enjoyed it. But it came with a small handful of regular crinkle fries and it was $17. Then I realized the juice and lemonade with $8 and $7 respectively which is crazy. Arepas and empanadas are considered street food and I don't think they doctored them up enough to warrant that increase in price. Like I said, the food was good, but I would need to find something else on the menu before I got excited about going again.

My wife and I were feeling adventurous and we decided to try Cuidad Bonita in Park Circle a local Colombian restaurant. The place was packed at 3pm on a Sunday which was surprising. The atmosphere was colorful and vibrant with murals covering the walls and the bar bathed in blue light. We ordered drinks which came in large tiki glasses. My wife had the Santi's Skinny and I had the Mojito Bonito. The drinks were on the sweet side but that paired well with all the savory we were about to enjoy. Our first starter was the Colombian Street Corn with Grilled corn on the cob, lathered with cream cheese topped with chopped bacon, colombian costeño cheese and house made tartara sauce. The corn was cooked just right but I am glad they had napkin dispensers at the table as this was a tasty mess. Next we had to try their empanadas which cam with a beef, chicken and cheese empanada. They were very crispy with a regular and habanero dipping sauces. The chicken and beef had a nice spice profile but our favorite was the cheese which had the same texture as a mozzarella stick. I ordered the Churrasco which was 12oz Sirloin topped with house made chimichurri, salad and fries on the side. Now you can only order medium or well done which had me concerned since I prefer medium rare but my worries were over when this perfectly juicy steak with a delicious chimichurri arrived. It was a flavor bomb! My wife ordered the Half picada which was a cornucopia of meat. 8oz grilled steak, chorizo (Colombian sausage), morcilla (rice stuffed colombian sausage), 8oz grilled chicken, chicharrón (fried pork belly), colombian yellow potato, fried green plantain, sliced tomato and house made sauces. All the meats were juicy and had great spices on them. The morcilla was a unique taste with the rice inside and the chicharrons were perfectly fried and not too fatty. Service was friendly and attentive and the food did not disappoint!

The Service was outstanding, Ny was very pleasant and helpful for our party of 9. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. They have a full bar with plenty of bar seating in addition to the table seating throughout the restaurant. I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed an Arepa, an Empanada and a side odder of Scrambled rice with black beans. The name "La Vinotinto" is inspired by the Venezuelan national soccer team, whose official uniform is famously known as "La Vinotinto" (The Burgundy). From the second we walked in, we felt the vibe -- super clean, beautifully decorated, and full of that energy that tells you "yeah, this place is gonna hit." The food? Legit authentic. Not that watered-down tourist stuff. Everything had real flavor -- like someone's abuela was back there blessing each plate. My mom said the seasoning reminded her of her aunt's cooking back in Puerto Rico -- and that's saying something, because her aunt doesn't play. Drinks were next level. I ordered a margarita and they brought me what looked like a whole bucket of joy. I literally said out loud "¡Papi, bring me another!" Vacation mode was fully activated. The staff? Super friendly, super cool. Spoke Spanish with us, cracked jokes, made us feel at home like we were regulars even though it was our first time. Beautiful spot, authentic food, great people, and good vibes all around. My parents are already talking about coming back next weekend -- and we live 4 hours away.
