Several of these doctors wanted to push pills on me and send me on my way, while one was so rude I couldn't even look at him by the end of the appointment. Dr. Mehta has been a shining beacon of hope and relief since she became my doctor. She has spent extensive amounts of time with me explaining and helping to chart a course that not only made me comfortable (no pain medication) and was also medically sound. From the onset of my first visit, I have been treated with amazing care; she has worked with me to ensure the proper clinical care that I am comfortable with; she has provided incredible follow-up; I feel like an "Individual" and not a number or another unnamed patient; she is kind and she provides stability to me in and time where nothing is certain and I typically don't feel well. Dr. Mehta receives my highest possible recommendation.

I've been a patient of Dr. Mehta's before, but after 3 years away I had to start over as "new." Her…read morenurse Karen remembered me right away, saw how much my scoliosis and kyphosis had progressed, and got me scheduled for trigger injections. I'm a Cleveland Clinic concierge patient, but I still had to wait another month to see Dr. Mehta -- I trusted her from past treatment, so I waited despite being in significant pain. A few days ago, on my way to the appointment, I hit stopped traffic from a car accident that had just happened. I called the office at 3:10 to explain, and was told to just get there as soon as I could -- that it shouldn't be a problem given the accident. I arrived at 3:33 for my 3:15 appointment and was turned away. No exceptions, no compassion. I explained I'd driven 45 minutes, called ahead, was in serious pain, had been trying to get this injection for 3 months, and had a competition out of town the next day. I was told I'd missed the 15-minute grace period and should have been there by 3:30. A 15-minute injection could easily have been worked in. If you're looking for compassion from this office -- from the front desk or from Dr. Mehta herself -- you won't find it here. I'm still stunned that a Cleveland Clinic physician would turn away a concierge patient in visible pain over an 18-minute delay caused by an accident I had no control over, after her own staff told me on the phone it wouldn't be a problem.

The shots I get (occasionally) in my back are starting to not work as well, so we are looking at alternative treatments. He will prescribe pain meds, but not a lot, and that's okay with me. I barely take mine and generally only need a refill every six months. Just a note, his office is on Brainard, not SOM. I recommend him highly.

Their video conference software for the $350, one-hour psych intake appt failed, and we ended up doing that call by phone. Dr. Molina was in a huge rush to get off that call--even though it should have been an hour--that it was disconcerting for us. He hung up after half an hour, leaving a lot our questions unasked and unanswered. The followup appointment was supposed to be in person. We drove 45 minutes to get there, only to learn that Dr. Molina had cancelled his in-person appts for the day, and no one had bothered to notify us. We had even scheduled it further out than desired so it could be in person, if I remember correctly. In the end, they sat us in a grubby office with an old laptop, and we did the appointment that way. On top of which, Dr. Molina's medication recommendations were neither useful nor evidence-based. Would not recommend. There are psychiatrists out there who are in it for the people and (not just) the money--find one of them.

Well he recommended physical therapy which I did religiously. But sometimes I would have breakthrough pain episodes where the pain was bad. When I explained this to him he said to take Tylenol. When I said that didn't help he said, "Well I don't know what to tell you." I started to cry out of sheer frustration. He said, "I know you said muscle relaxers don't work for you." I said, "That is incorrect. In fact the last time I saw you I asked you to refill my Robaxin and you said no and told me to go back to the original physician who wrote it for me." Then he had the balls to say to me, "Well that is what I wrote in my notes and I don't tend to make things up." He even asked me, "Well what do you want me to give you?" I said, "I don't know medicine. You are the doctor. I just find it hard to believe there is NOTHING you can write for me that would help me." Like, hey jerk, humor me and write me a script for a topical compound or something along those lines! He even went so far to check my Medical history and say, "You have only been dealing with this for 6 months." Are you kidding me? Right then and there I decided I would NEVER go back to him and that I would find another doctor... you know, one who is compassionate and who gives patients OPTIONS and SOLUTIONS to HELP a patient in pain. Begrudgingly he wrote me a measly 10 Robaxin and told me to use them sparingly. This guy is a complete jerk and he is not a caring doctor.

He also offered steroid injection even though they were ineffective previously???? Also I was waiting on previous results and lab work to rule out infection in my red and swelling legs! Yikes is is that desperate for $$$$ to order epidural injection when a May have a active infection??? Remember these doctors make there money on procedures not office visits and prescriptions. I had severe stenosis with claudication confirmed by mri and documented by 2 other doctors as well as spondlythesis confirmed by X-ray but got missed along the way! Dr Barnett documents in his notes that he found the above to be undetermined in his assessment??? Are you serious? He neglected to treat my pain and orders physical therapy!!! Thank goodness I didn't go to physical therapy I went to a surgeon at UH for his medical opinion. He listened as to what symptoms I had as well as my debilitating pain ordered X-ray, MRI and nerve muscle test. He put me on appropriate pain meds. After test results he said that surgery was needed to stop further damage. My spine -vertebra was badly out of alignment with 1 bone sliding on top of another causing horrible pain as well as pinching nerves causing weakness and a neuropathy to my right leg!!! I think dr Barnett should think about getting out of pain management. Doctor Barnett not ever patient is pill shopping and I believe he is burned out and patients are left without there pain being properly treated!!!! To all, I would not waste your valuable time going to this doctor for pain control he's burned out and his medical judgement is clouded therefore neglecting to treat your pain appropriately!!!!

Overall I have received help, support and they honestly believe that I have real pain. I have read…read moreabout people who don't have any pain but go to see pain management doctors for the wrong reasons and sometimes for pain medicine so they can sell it or take it themselves for a "high". These people make it hard for us to express ourselves because we are not lying about our pain but we are scared that we will not be believed. Here they listen to me. They answer all if my questions. They make me feel like I am still a human being and they work with me to help lower my pain levels. I am so grateful that there is still a back/pain doctor that doesn't blow you off or tell me it's all in my head, or that I don't really hurt that bad. Thank you Dr. Nickles and staff for giving me my life back. All of my pain is not gone but it is manageable now and I can function. I don't feel useless like I use to.
