I returned my 4Runner for a rattling noise after a repair. They took it very seriously and found a loose part that was causing the rattle. Had they not found it, they were planning on removing my console but didn't have to overall. I recently got hit in my Rav4 and returned for a minor repair. Their team is the best, their work is the best, their prices are competitive and they definitely care before and after your car is fixed. These guys deserve a 5 star rating. If you are just scrolling and don't have time to read a detailed review (based on work I had done there last month), I'll give you the bullet points version: * SLOW REPAIRS (repairs that should have taken 6 days took almost 3 weeks). * HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (they have no problem lying to you about part availability to get your car in the shop; they're also terrible at reaching out with updates). * MAKE YOU SPEND UNNECESSARY MONEY (they promise you quick turnaround times which they cannot keep, I had to keep my rental so long I went over budget and had to pay around $400 out of pocket). Now if you have time, follow along below to see how this mess unfolded. I first went into ABS Monday JANUARY 7, they looked at my insurance company's appraisal and said they could do the work. Before leaving my Mazda, I asked them if they needed time to gather the parts (I'd been advised by my insurance company to do this in order to avoid unnecessary rental costs and down time for my car). They assured me they had the parts ready to go. I then decided to leave the car and I asked for a rough estimate of when the car would be ready. They said around JANUARY 12. I called ABS JANUARY 12 to see if the car was ready, and I was told they had not yet started on the repairs. When I asked why they said they hadn't been able to get a hold of Nicole, my adjuster. I've had to reach out to Nicole before with questions and she's always returned my calls the same day or a day after I reach out, I'm not sure what these guys were doing for a whole week. I asked them again when they expected the car to be ready, they said JANUARY 19. JANUARY 19 comes, and I call them again. This time they have started working on my car, but "they have to wait for more parts to come in", parts they had originally told me they had handy. I once again ask them to give me an estimate on when the repairs will be done, they say most likely JANUARY 22, JANUARY 23 the latest. At this point I'm pissed. I work in LA so having a car is a must, I extend my rental thru January 23 and I get ready for the possibility of another round of BS. Which is exactly what I got when I called on JANUARY 23. They said they needed more time to allow for parts to dry before they put them together. I called them out on their BS and explained to them that since I've had to keep my rental for so long and there's a cap on what my policy covers, I would have to pay for the difference out of pocket. They apologized, blah blah blah, we are sorry for your inconvenience, all that stuff. When I asked them if they would pay for the extra rental costs, they said they would check with the MANAGER. I went in JANUARY 25 and the car was finally ready, I asked about the extra rental costs and they said the manager hadn't been able to do anything, I again explained that their inability to keep deadlines was the reason why the rental costs had gone over budget and they seemed to understand where I was coming from. They said they would reach out to me JANUARY 28 with their answer, after they talked to the OWNER. It is now mid-February, they haven't called me, emailed me or written to me even though they have all my contact information. If you like slow repairs, unprofessional customer service, and paying unnecessary money out of pocket, then this is definitely the place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go to any other body shop in Ventura and save yourself a headache. If you're reading this ABS management, at least try to pretend you care for your customers, even if you don't, also stop promising things you can't deliver. read more

I had a great experience here getting my door fixed after a big accident (that was my fault). I had to pay out of pocket and was worried about expenses. The guy who helped me wrote up an estimate to make the car look new (it's a 1998) and then helped me pare down to the amount of money I had to spend. He didn't make me feel cheap or stupid, and the work was done in less than a week. Now the work itself: I'm so happy with how my car looks! They had to find and install a totally new door, paint it to match the car, and hook up the power window and side mirror. Everything looks great and works well- plus they did a really nice job cleaning up the car and getting out all the glass from the carpet, etc. I highly recommend Avenue Body Shop! read more

This review is way over due. My family and I have been having our cars repaired here for DECADES!!! It has been about a year since the most recent repair. They still have the same fantastic customer service as they did decades ago. My car was repaired in the time they estimated. They called with frequent updates to let me know the status of the repairs. They worked directly through my insurance company and made it incredibly convenient and easy for me. They also called a car rental place and arranged for the company to pick me up at the Body Shop and take me to the rental. My car looks brand new! They did an excellent job once again! I'm very satisfied that I had my Toyota Venza 2 lower section of the right doors repaired. 2 reasons to use Avenue Body Shop: one of the AAA preferred and I made an appointment right away with Alex who asked me the claim number, and sounds professional over the phone.. May 3rd, I dropped the car and waited for the parts to be arrived. The original estimate time was 3 weeks. It will cost me a lot for the rental car. May 10th Wed. Alex emailed me that All parts are here. May 15th Mon. Alex emailed me the car will be out form the paint department, should be ready either Wed or Thur. morning. Avenue body shop did a fantastic job on my Mercedes-Benz. I came in on a Monday afternoon for some body work on my truck. Israel was extremely professional and able to give me an estimate under 15 minutes. Everyone was extremely friendly, professional and knew what they were doing, which is very rare in most repair shops. My Mercedes-Benz came out looking brand new; the paint feels like when I first bought it off the dealer five years ago. I feel comfortable recommending this repair shop to any of my family and friends in the need of auto body work. I highly recommend Avenue Auto Body. We had a broken door on our 2010 Honda Odyssey and were struggling to find a place to get it fixed. Called the dealer and they wanted $150 just to look at it. Called another body shop and they were too busy. Finally we found Avenue Body Shop on Yelp. They said to bring it right in. We did and they quickly gave us a price of $160. We also asked about getting the cracked tail light fixed. Official Honda part was $175 so he checked first salvage and then after market and we ended up saving $40. Brought my car in to them because my bumper was falling off. I know how expensive body work can be and I wasn't sure if the entire thing needed to be replaced. I was told I could do a simple fix by just replacing the clips on the bumper to the tune of $35. Wonderful -- they didn't try to sell me anything more or convince me to do any more work. So I know 1 star you say. Well let me tell you that goes to show that customer service goes a long way. So I came here because about 7 years ago I had to have a bumper fixed and they did a good job color matching and so forth. However this time someone hit me and I went through their insurance so I came to Ave to get an appraisal. Well almost a month later my appraisal has come in. A month you ask?!?! YES a month! Israel was the guy who was supposed to take care of my claim. So finally when i call the insurance and ask them what is going on they call the body shop. Well then the body shop tells them I have never even been in there and I am not answering my phone. Now that was the Friday after the Monday when I went in. WTH right? So yeah all in all horrible customer service, the owner isn't around. No one cares so forth. They will not be fixing my car I will be taking it elsewhere. read more

So...someone in my house managed to get the family car rear-ended during the holiday season. Our insurance and some friends recommended this shop to repair the rear bumper and I was very impressed with the quick turn around (2 days) and the service. My Audi A-6 sustained a moderate, several panel damage from a Fender-Bender accident. Farmers Insurance footed the repairs and suggested Avenue Body Shop (several of my friends did also).The repair to the passenger rear door, rocker panel, and rear quarter panel was flawless, but as I arrived home, I noted a small, but noticeable "keying"-type scratch to the driver's door that wasn't there when I gave them the car. I called Israel @ Avenue Body Shop, and we looked at the car the next day. NO HASSLES: His response- "That's not right-we'll fix it." He arranged for a quick, one-day painting of the driver's door-imperceptible, as previously. I also discovered a problem with the "Convenience Key" feature of the door locks that resulted from shutting the car down during the original repair work. I assumed I would need the technical department at Audi to fix the electrical problem. No-the local Farmers Ins. representative (not my insurer) assured me that Avenue Body Shop was up to the task. They shocked me by pulling out a computer, plugging it into my car, and spending some effort resetting the locks the same day as the driver door was refinished. They were very helpful, kept me updated as to the progress being made, and got my car back to me in one week. I would have given this shop 0 stars if I could. I took my wife's 2014 Jetta 3 times and they still didn't fix it right. There lack of detail is disappointing, the second time I took it I spoke to one of there guys and pointed out every detail exactly what was wrong, door wasn't closing right, paint is chipping there touch up paint job was a slap in the face for a new car, and I told them about the weather stops they installed that they were coming off. Got the car back and it still had the same problems door wasn't closing right paint on the bolts that are holding the door were nasty. When they spoke to my state farm agent they said I didn't describe everything with details. I specifically pointed everything out, took it the third time they fixed most of the problems but the lack of detail is still there the paint is just added to the bolts for the door paint is chipping by the door and there half ass job on the edge of the door to touch it up looks nasty. It's a new car and now it has a lot of details that are nasty looking. They only gave us a rent a car the third time one should have been provided the second time and I shouldn't have had to gone a third time and still get my car with these details. If I could post a picture of the little details the did I would. Never again will any car of mine or my friends and family go to this shop. read more
