I absolutely love trying out new brunch places. I was visiting my best friend and we landed on Avenue Brunch house. I'm a massive breakfast fan and while he's not he was excited to go here for the chicken and waffles. We were impressed with the selections of chicken and waffle since they had different kinds. We started off with there beignets, great get them, you'll love them. We both got iced lavender lattes which were wonderful, he got the heat chicken and waffles while I got the cin-a-mon French toast. Everything tasted great. Took off a star because I wasn't a fan of our seats. There a large island in the middle of the restaurant, where groups of people are sitting and while it wasn't the worst I've never been a communal sitter. I actively avoid places with communal seating but everything else was wonderful so I'd easily go again. read more

I really wanted to love this place. It was busy and there was a short wait for brunch on Friday morning. One thing that irritated me was that their espresso machine was down, so you could only order drip coffee. Also, their menu had a lot of Chef specials in category, but they only had one available, which was the PB&J French toast. I ordered the shakshuka, with over medium eggs. The server mentioned that it wasn't a traditional take on the dish and that it didn't have vegetables in it, which was fine by me. Shakshuka- On first glance, the dish didn't have the grilled sliced baguette as was in the menu description. Rather, it had toast points that weren't able to hold up to the sauce and it was not enjoyable. Additionally, the server asked how I wanted my eggs to be cooked, and I wanted them to be over medium. They were served over easy, with totally runny yolks. There was a nice heat to the sauce with a sprinkling of cheese, although I don't think it was cotija cheese as described in the menu, but rather cheddar. I did try someone's PB&J French toast which was delicious, with a crispy outside and fluffy inside. The peanut butter helps cuts back on the sweetness. Finally, if you are a party over 4, they will add a 20% service charge. However, that doesn't mean they won't try to ask you into tipping more when you pay with the QR code. This particularly irked me since the service was poor, with us needing to flag down the server for water and other essentials. This restaurant is nice and like "homey" on the inside.e and my party took forever to order because everything looked and sounded so good. I ended up ordered the southwest skillet, my cousin ordered the honey heat fried chicken with the donut waffle, the other a standard breakfast with pancakes in the side. And I had a Razzamataz smoothie and they had an Oreo milkshake and mango smoothie. Our food was hot fresh and delicious. The chicken inside the skillet itself was seasoned and cooked very well, and the skillet all together was very flavorful. The fried chicken and donut waffle was surprisingly very good they complement eachother very well. The drinks were good as well. The Razzamatazz is a very berry tasting smoothie so if you don't like berries that much it's not the one for you. After many years of feeling disappointed in restaurant options near Detroit Metro Airport, I finally discovered Avenue Brunch House! This was my second visit, and I plan to make it my first stop every time I fly into town. They have an extensive menu that includes omelets, creative pancake and waffle options, and Benedicts along with some lunch options. The chicken and waffles are my favorite item which comes with 4 nice sized pieces over a fluffy Belgian waffle. This time, however, I enjoyed the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. The decor is inspiring with beautiful murals and quotes from Anthony Bourdain and LeBron James. It seems to be a local favorite as it was crowded both times I came for brunch on a Friday. My only critique is that they could use some new menus. The current menus are worn and peeling on the edges from overuse. read more

The El Camino omelette and Southwest skillet were pretty good and flavorful. The chicken was very bland. The pancakes were good, I liked the fresh berries on top. The cheese hashbrowns that came with the omelette was so salty. Recommend getting the plain hashbrowns instead. Each dish was about $15-20. In all, the food was average in taste and not worth the price. The space inside was nicely decorated. Good service. Been wanting to try this spot for a while. The wait was always 90+ mins on the weekend. Had some time off work during this week and decided to give them a try. Not that you needed to know any of that... on to the review! We had a very short wait on a Thursday morning. They give large portions! The establishment is clean. Coffee is strong (which I like). Minus a star because their espresso machine was not working so they only had regular coffee. (The fact that they add a dollar for the flavored coffee but don't mention that on the menu but you literally can't order anything else because their machine was down.) Minus a half star because they are updating the menu and they don't offer everything listed. I asked for the Nashville hot chicken and waffles; they gave me regular chicken initially. I caught the mistake and had them correct my order. The chicken was sweet and peppery. The cheese grits were delicious. The turkey croissant literally has a whole croissant for the top and bottom bun! All in all, I like this spot. I would definitely go back. The portions make it worth the price. read more

Avoid the table next to the hostess stand. It gets crowded by patrons waiting for tables. Ambiance includes high and low top seating with square table tops and booths. There is no bar/alcohol. The food is so good that you won't care. Fresh ingredients and sizable portions. The server was nice, but not the most attentive. It's a busy season and we assumed she was overwhelmed. Surrounding team members pitched in to ensure we had what we needed. Seems like a supportive working environment which is a big plus. We will be back our next visit to Michigan. read more

We decided to switch things up with a later brunch at Avenue Brunch House and it absolutely did not disappoint! Despite being completely packed and buzzing, the service was truly excellent. A huge shoutout to the incredibly hardworking woman greeting everyone at the door; she is the epitome of sweet and warm hospitality. Amazingly, she remembers returning customers, which adds such a personal touch and makes you feel special. The atmosphere here is like nowhere else! It was wonderful to see couples, families, and groups of friends (some even color-coordinated!) all laughing, talking, and genuinely having a good time. With all the heaviness in the world, Avenue Brunch House provided a much needed pause, a real moment of joy and community without the weight of current events. I've been here at least 3 times and each time I try a different dish. The portions are large, you will take something home unless you're extremely hungry. My wife and I split two orders. The chicken and Doughnut was amazing, crispy and tender chicken...was very good We also got the Bamm Bamm's Pebbles pancakes. Truly a decadent order. Everything about this was delicious. The best part was that the order was so big, there was more than enough to take home to enjoy later. I also got the cowboy style beef bacon. I'm in Detroit for the buffalo bills game, my granddaughter found this place on ticktock, in her words " absolutely spectacular " the pictures don't do it justice, the place is a well oiled machine, we were seated right away, table for 6, we ordered peach cobbler pancakes, catfish and grits, Louisiana trio, cinnamon French toast, the sausage is beef or turkey, jalapeño, everything we ordered came out quick, and was delicious, beignets and breakfast egg rolls with the dipping sauces, if you want a great brunch here's yours place! On the weekends, it can be fairly busy, but I went on a Tuesday morning, and there was no wait. They have plenty of menu options. You don't have to do brunch if you don't want too. I ordered the Seafood trifecta omelette with cheesy hashbrowns, and a side of strawberry French toast. The omelette comes with shrimp, crab, and lobster with a basement sauce on top. I will say that there was way too many eggs in the omelette for my liking. It seem like they used to 6 to 8 eggs, which is way too much! You can never go wrong with strawberry French toast though and the brioche bread was very fresh. My cousin ordered the pineapple, glazed chicken and waffles. It comes with two huge pieces of chicken and two huge waffles. The chicken does have a bit of a kick to it so just be mindful when ordering. this dish honestly tasted like a pineapple upside down cake. The berry everything smooth it was OK. It's really just fruit purée and ice. Overall, I'm giving a 7/10. read more

The place itself is nice, exposed ceiling with vines. Graffiti art on the walls, centred bar type seating. We decided to share as we had plenty of food places to check out that say. The famous chicken and waffle. It definitely came packing some heat. They drizzle red chilli flakes on top which made it extra spicy. Mexi egg, it was a bowl with eggs, sauce, hash brown & cheesy tortilla etc. there was a lot happening on that plate yet it was bland. We both ordered coffee, the coffee wasn't great but next time I think I'll order a drink from the drink menu. I ordered the Greek skillet and added grilled chicken. It was delicious. The saltiness of the olives were a perfect blend with the feta cheese, tomatoes and potatoes. The portions are huge! Some people at the high top with us ordered pancakes and I will need to try those next time. Although the restaurant was busy our food came out quickly and the service was great. Although they opened several years ago, this place has a brand new vibe. Great ambiance. Service was fast and friendly. Then the food came! Wow was it great. The dishes have a sauce on top. Whoever is their saucier, must have come from a high end restaurant. The Greek skillet has a smooth a creamy feta sauce. I was very excited to try this restaurant as they have an extensive menu with some unique dishes that you don't see in other brunch restaurants. We ordered the Beignets, Very Berry Pancakes, Standard Breakfast, Sin-a-mon Waffle. The coffee was great, and the beignets were good and came out fairly quickly. The rest of the food took an hour to receive, and the waffle came out cold. The Standard Breakfast came with toast, which was cold and dry. There is no butter or jelly on the table, and when I requested some I was brought hard butter that would not spread on the cold toast. I tried the Caveman bacon, and it was bacon covered in a sauce. Instead of the bacon being glazed, it was essentially bbq sauce on top of limp bacon. The waffle was very crispy, but also cold. The Very Berry Pancakes were by far the best thing we ordered. They were hot and fluffy, with a good amount of toppings. For the price of this breakfast, I definitely had expected more. Of the four dishes we ordered, I can only recommend one- the Very Berry Pancakes. On top of most of the food being cold, the long wait and high price leads me not to recommend Avenue Brunch House. read more
