My wife, Anita and I went there on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived about 40 minutes before closing, but our server, Emily was energetic and very friendly and we did not feel at all rushed. The food was excellent. I had the Southwest Skillet, and it was delicious. Anita had the grits and shrimp which she thoroughly enjoyed. Portions were plentiful. We both took some home, which is rare for me. Anita also had a mango drink which was delicious (I sampled it). I had coffee. It was hot and strong (just the way I like it). We were first seated by the big communal table. :( I saw there was an open high top table available and asked the hostess if we could sit there. Odd the hostess didn't catch this open table for us the first time. She asked us to wait a minute. We were able to move to the window high top table. Better to not sit across a big giant table with a bunch of strangers. Ordered the Mushroom Swiss omelet with hash brown and white toast. I wanted to order the ranchero Benedict, but I am not allowed to swap out the English muffin for GF bread. Ordered the Mexicali burrito with turkey sausage and turkey bacon instead of brisket and 4 orders of beignet. $77.38 Had to ask for the toast part way into our meal. The hash browns were cold. Burrito fell apart instantly. Too hard to pick up. Tasted okay overall. Sauce on the top of burritos, made the tortilla wilted and unmanageable to pick-up. The mushroom Swiss was decent, white toast too. Potatoes slices and hash browns were okay. Service and food is average, needs some improvements for sure. I was finally able to try this place and was very pleased! This place is very unique and has some really delicious selections. Started with their version of beignets. Theirs are more like a fried croissant, which isn't bad at all. Theirs flavors added with the dipping sauce was great. Their breakfast portions are no complaint. Genuinely had an out of body experience, sitting in the corner booth with my dear friends. We were seated immediately on a very, very busy Sunday morning and took it as a sign from above that we were about to have a fantastic meal portions are humongous, and I'm now near lethargic, having tried my best to finish the honey heat chicken and waffles. The captain crunch milkshake was incredible, and beignets were sooooo good. My tablemates also have the lobster mac & cheese, which is described to be decadent, buttery, and overall one of the best mac & cheese of her life. I took a group of seniors here on a day trip and everyone lived it. The menu was unique the food was great with huge portions and the service was really good. Visited today with family out of town down close to airport. Wow! What a great spot! Super cute clear glass coffee mugs. Entrance in back takes you to the hostess station. If you enter through front door, walk to back. We were immediately seated. Waitress was super friendly and fast service. I ordered the Za'atar avocado toast and they allowed me to sub in scrambled eggs instead of sunny side up. It was listed a starter and so I appreciated the smaller size. It was served with a side salad with yummy picked onions. I LOVED it. Although I would have taken even a little more Za'atar in the cream cheese. My cousin ordered the chicken and waffles. She thought the chicken had a little too much seasoning and didn't love it. But the portion was huge and could have just been a personal preference. This place is definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the Detroit area. First things first, they do not take reservations and they are always on a wait, that should tell you that they are good. We arrived in the middle of a snowstorm on a weekday. It was a Friday though around 11am and, predictably, they had a wait. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. It was totally worth the wait. Their ambiance is cute- the hallway is clean, they have bench seating and they put you on the list to get a text, so you could sit in the car if you really wanted to; we did not. They could use a foyer though. It was 22 degrees and snowing so every time the door opened we were instantly freezing. The menu is massive so if you're trying this for the first time and you're from out of town, honey bring as many friends as you can so that you guys can order everything!! Theeeee must have that I tried were the smoked wings. I have never had wings that were smoked and then fried baby they were crispy. They were seasoned to the bone and were delicious. I almost ate them all and had no room for anything else. We also did the berry pancakes which could feed 3-5 people alone; second of all, they're not overly sweet, which is why I did berries and not the peaches or anything like that; and, third of all, the pancakes are the size of your face, but they are fluffy and melt in your mouth! These were easily top two pancakes I've had in my life. We also tried the shrimp and grits, also a 10/10. A generous portion of shrimp, not overcooked and the sauce was bomb. They do put bacon on it if you're not a bacon eater pay attention. I tasted around it anyways but yes, we also tried a vegetarian omelette with home fries. This was just a 7/10 but probably because we only ever tasted it reheated because we were too full to touch it. It was 3 entrees and an appetizer and was definitely enough food to feed a family of seven. This is a must visit place, so if you are in the area and have never been: make time!!!! We had barely a wait when we went on Thursday at 11am, which was nice as we have tried to go here before when waits were just too long. I was excited to get the Detroiter sandwich, but wanted a scrambled egg instead of fried as I don't like yolks and was told no to this substitution. I was incredibly disappointed as that was what I really wanted. It wasn't conveyed to me if the fried egg was thoroughly cooked or why that simple cooking preference couldn't be honored. I ended up going for something cheaper and got a "standard breakfast" plate, which was meh. The toast was bland, only maple butter was given, so I did not butter it. I did request strawberry jelly when ordering, it wasn't originally given, but did ask for it again from the lady that delivered the food. The eggs were a generous portion, my dining companion got cheese in his, and they were a better flavor. The potatoes were ok, I love a house potato much more than a hashbrown, but many were overly crunchy, unfortunately. I would not order this plate again. Started off with the beignets and OMG I could eat these over and over again. They were flaky and sweet paired with a yummy dipping sauce. I was so very excited to try this place. I've heard a lot about and have seen many influencers talk about it online. The dining room is an open concept of medium size. Some of the tables literally feel like you're in the center of the room alone given how the majority of the seating is on the perimeter walls. But given the odd shaped multi-party table in the middle of the room that seems like it should be a bar but not a bar because they don't serve alcohol or mocktails, it makes the table seating bizarre. Nevertheless, the menu was extensive enough. My dining companions had the seafood omelette which was generous compared to other local establishments. They enjoyed it but for $27 they should right?!!! Right. We also had the fish & grits removing the items that contained shellfish. It was good but could have been served slightly warmer.
