I guess if you don't know much about jewelry, do not go to this store. I invested almost $6k into an engagement ring less than two years ago here. They definitely promote and try to get you to buy the lab-grown diamonds, and so we did. However, what they don't tell you is that they're not worth anything. They have no problem charging you thousands for one, but won't touch them coming back. Now I'm sitting here with a failed engagement, and a ring that's worth 2% of what I paid for it. When revisiting Avenue Jewelers, they confirmed that it's not something they would buy back at any cost, just going to show how much they stand behind their products. I went to return the ring and the owner refused to reimburse me what I paid but offered me two hundred dollars less than what I paid! The next day! I came in to get my necklace cleaned which should only take 10 minutes max. There were only 2 workers and they were both busy which I understand. Although they didn't even ask what service I was looking for. The other individuals had vert long needs and seemed like they wanted to spend their whole afternoon here. My boyfriend brought me here to browse the jewelry a little and, most importantly, to get my ring finger sized. For some reason, no other place has gotten my ring size quite right (come on, how hard can it be?), so I credit this place. What I really liked about this place was that I felt absolutely zero pressure. We definitely knew we weren't going to be buying anything that day, and we felt absolutely no pressure. We have stopped by a few other places located at the mall and the personnel were slimier and dripping with that, "I will say or do anything to get you to make a purchase" kind of thing. I hate that about Jewelers and did not get those vibes at all at Avenue Jewelers. They also have music playing at night that you can hear as you walk by the corner, which I have become accustomed to hearing pretty frequently. There are also pictures of happy newly engaged couples with their rings, which I think adds a cute touch. Was hoping for better customer service but disappointed. Husband had purchased diamond earrings which we brought to Avenue Jewelers to be re-posted and different backs. The diamond broke off the post and was lost. The other diamond post is bent. Brought to the Jeweler and nothing was done to acknowledge the poor workmanship. Waited a week for a return call which was an offer to buy another diamond and pay to have them post it. Unlikely as workmanship on first pair was so poor and now customer service is as well. Avenue Jewelers is the greatest place to shop for jewelry and Kathryn is fabulous. She really knows her jewelry plus she is very creative. I had a gemstone I wanted to use but I didn't know what I wanted. Kathryn and I talked, I browsed, and then we talked some more. She has a great "feel" for what works and looks good and I ended up with the most beautiful piece of jewelry. It was a wonderful experience. Kathryn also buys estate jewelry from clients and she is very honest. I had a piece of dirty, old jewelry that I thought was an inexpensive piece and Kathryn told me that it was gold.
