I've been going to Avestee since 2014 for my mammograms. At that time, Dr. Ash Dabbous was my ob-gyn and referred me to Avestee. Every year, the whole process is very efficient from check-in to the mammogram to check out and getting your next appointment scheduled. I appreciated the efficiency even more this year with the pandemic. Several years ago, I had an abnormal mammogram and had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Suzanne Dabbous. She explained what she observed and suggested a biopsy. That process was handled very well and thankfully it was due to calcification, and nothing cancerous. It is a very comfortable space and you get a warm gown to wear. Those small things matter and they handle the details well. Highly recommend this professional practice. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! The front desk woman at the Boerne location lied to our faces about how much we would HAVE TO pay and when we went to checkout she changed her whole story. She scammed us out of double what she originally stated and then said if we left they could not bill us and we would be stealing. Horrible experience in a vulnerable situation. She took advantage of someone who was already scared. We are super upset. read more

I was scheduled for a biopsy at the Sunset location and I was extremely nervous. I've had a biopsy at this clinic before but it never gets any easier mentally. During this COVID time there are so many uncertainties and fear that we are all clearly living with. Yesterday God himself must have been with the staff that day. The compassion and love that I received from every member of the staff was incredible. One of the ladies during the procedure came and held me throughout the process and that meant the world to me. I thank you all so much for everything you all did for me during my procedure. May God keep you all and your families safe during this time and send extra blessings to all of you because of the compassion and love that you all are still providing with your services. The best place to get a mammogram! This imaging center has very spa-like qualities. The waiting room was very cozy and inviting with a table and sitting area and a self serve expresso maker. The ladies speak to you with very calming tones. Having a sister who is a 2 time breast cancer survivor, one can imagine the anxiety that can build up every time I have to get my mammo done. I have to emphasize the zen-like, calming feel of this place.... Once you walk to the back, it gets spa-like- the decor of this place is well-crafted down to the details....curved walls, old-fashioned keys to the dressing rooms, a secondary waiting room that looks more like an inviting living room....very vintage-shiek. The overall procedure went well...the ladies were professional and it never is a pleasant procedure, but they perform as fast and efficient as possible while making sure they give you the attention you need. I even met with the doctor onsite to discuss my results....all negative (thank God since I went in to investigate a lump)! I would highly recommend this place! Not only because of the quality of the imaging center...the only 3D mammo imaging in town, but the quality of the ladies....may be a little more expensive compared to the regular mammogram (we'll see how the insurance company covers it, but the information you get is that much more invaluable). Also, there was about a week wait to get an appt, so depending on how quickly you need a service, you will need to take that into perspective....if you need to get in right away, check for a cancellation, otherwise, will most likely have to wait.... It is definitely worth it... I left very happy and calm and now have a new place to go every year, so I won't feel so "herded" like the other imaging centers in town. I felt I was walking into a spa. The office as very welcoming and smelled great. I'm so glad I found this place for my mammograms!

This was my first time here and it was the nicest imaging center I've been to anywhere in the US that we've lived. Most of them are very "medical" looking. This looked like you were going to the spa. You can tell that they really took time to think about the customer's experience and what they wanted that to be. It gives you a very relaxed and "homey" feel that puts you right at ease. Parking was easy...both front and back. Actually faster to park in the front since you will be taking the stairs to the second level. They have an elevator as well, if needed. The layout of the waiting room could have easily been anyone's sitting area. Loved the fixtures in the back waiting room...see pics. Their gowns are very nice and they keep them in a warmer so what better way to put you at ease and make you feel taken care of then a warm gown? Staff was very professional and friendly. Definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants or needs imaging of any kind! read more

I had 2 mammograms here that were really not painful but the last 2 were so painful I had bruising and chest pain for over a week. I've been getting mammograms over 30 years and the last 2 have been the worst. read more

I came here to get a mammogram done. I really wasn't sure what to expect. As soon as I hit the top of the stairs, i felt relaxed. The staff was very kind, the atmosphere was soothing, the aromatherapy essence was subtle but perfect, the decorations were beautiful and it made me feel like I was at a spa! I had to have a biopsy yesterday. Not a fun procedure, but the staff made it much easier with their kind personalities and thoughtfulness. First, let me say, the interior designer that chose the decor is outstanding. I want my house to look just like that! So warm, inviting and comfortable... opposite of the usual doctor's office. Very welcoming as soon as you walk in. The waiting room resembles a quaint coffee shop! My husband waited for me there and felt very comfortable while he drank his espresso. :) I was in and out in about an hour from start to finish. The girls were very accommodating and really made me feel as comfortable as could be expected. They took the time to invite me over to the computer screen to view my images and explained everything in detail. I am so thankful for this staff and facility. I highly recommend. read more

It seems strange to write a five star review of a favorite restaurant, and then write a five star review of the place that literally saved my life. I am a very healthy 44 year old....I never even meet my annual insurance deductible. During my annual GYN exam, my doctor recommended Avestee Imaging for my annual mammogram. He said the 3D technology and the radiologist, Dr. Dabbous were the best. Prior to this, I'd had three completely normal 2D mammograms. Yes, the offices are gorgeous, spa-like and relaxing. Yes, the robes are heated. Yes, the staff was super friendly and professional, but all of that is secondary to their real advantage over all of the other places - the 3D technology. Almost one year later, after a unilateral mastectomy and reconstruction, my gynecologist, surgeon and oncologist all told me that essentially 3D mammogram caught my aggressive malignant tumor early enough so that it didn't spread beyond the breast. I was told that If I'd had a regular 2 dimension mammogram, it most likely would have gone another year undetected and metasticized. Dr. Dabbous and her staff are wonderful! STAY AWAY!!! I had a WONDERFUL experience and good care when I had my mammogram here. I thought nothing more of it UNTIL ... In 2013 I had a mammogram that was read as normal here at Avestee. In 2016 I had a mammogram at a nearby location and they needed to see the results 2013 AVESTEE results to compare. AVESTEE had tossed my images. My radiologist said it was unethical and possibly illegal to have done so, especially after such a short time lapse. Yes, AVESTEE gives good professional care in the short term, but I STRONGLY CAUTION you, if you should need to see past images to compare to future results (which is everyone unless you own a crystal ball), STAY AWAY. THERE IS NO POINT IN GETTING A MAMMOGRAM FOR JUST THE PRESENT MOMENT. YOU WANT HEALTHY BREASTS AND REGULAR EXAMINATIONS FOR LIFE. My family doctor also said the same exact thing that the radiologist complained about AVESTEE. read more

I love this imaging center! The environment is soothing and comforting. The staff are always so professional and friendly. I've been coming here for years and won't go anywhere else. Understandably, no one likes to have an annual mammogram but these folks are so kind and empathetic. The staff are all women which definitely eases the stress. Once you are done, you will be so relieved that one big item is off of your 'to do' list. Do it for yourself and your family. Get a mammo done so you can put your mind at ease. You won't regret it. This was my second time to get a 3D mammogram at Avestee. The first experience was very positive and I remember telling myself, "make sure you come back here again." Going back today, it reinforced why I'll come back again. It is a spa-like atmosphere. From the friendly greeting, to the short wait - to the heated gown, private changing room with a lock - even the 3D machine felt less painful than the regular 2D procedure. Wonderful place to have a mammogram! This was my first time getting this done and I couldn't have been referred to a better facility. I had an 8:00am appointment and unfortunately was running late. The front desk woman was so kind and did not make feel guilty for being a few minutes late, like some offices do. There was a very calming spa like quality to the whole office. I felt like I was waiting in a friends comfy apartment with the option to have some coffee and sit and enjoy my few minutes of wait time. I was then brought to the back and given a heated robe to change into. They have individual locked changing rooms to hang your clothes and leave your purse while you get your images taken. The tech was very sweet and answered any and all questions I asked. She seemed very knowledgeable and she was gentle. Overall a great experience. I scheduled for next year! read more

I have been going to another "Women's" imaging facility and after a bad rushed experience was referred here by my Dr. LOVE IT! The experience from online appt request to the warmed ladylike robes was AMAZING! The best part and why they received a 5 star is that they are ALL personable and actually SPEAK and explain everything. I was SO nervous and the professionalism through all the personnel placed me at ease and relaxed. I didn't have that question as to whether they had REALLY looked and checked my dense breasts. They HAD and explained all they saw! Quiet, relaxing and soothing in a difficult situation. It doesn't get any better than that. I had a worst experience. They told me my insurance won't cover and they didn't even try verifying it. It cost me $200 for self pay. After the visit I called insurance and they said they might pick up so have them try billing, and I called back then they told me they cannot bill anymore because I already paid for it. So I had to pay $200 out of pocket when my insurance could pay for it. I really should have gone to different place to get imaging done. read more

This office comes across as a high end women's spa-like imaging salon. Yes, esthetically it is a gorgeous office, but that does not mean they are professionally managing patient expectations. What was supposed to be a 15min quick and standard breast biopsy turned out to be a 2 hour torture treatment. I was trapped in the mammogram machine, awake and shaking. I got to hear 3 women (Doctor and 2 nurses) debating which direction to move the incision machine while blood was squirting all over my neck, arm and shoulder (and machine in front of me). Three different incisions were made, which have all keloided now. Lot's of "this never happens" after the torture procedure was completed. I wasn't sure if I was going to write this review, until just last week an acquaintance of mine had an identical experience - so apparently "this Does happen" in this office.
