Check-in was easy, the lady was nice and the radiology tech was even nicer. My appointment was at 1:40 but they said to arrive at 1:25. I arrived around 1:20 and I didn't wait long at all. In fact, I was done a little after 1:40. The tech explained everything thoroughly and positioned my hand while we made small talk about the x-ray flower art on the walls. When I checked out I informed the same lady who checked me in that I had a referral to a hand doctor. I handed her my phone so she can clearly get the details and said she can send my results to both my Airrosti doctor and the specialist. She must have done something right because the specialist's office called on Monday to schedule an appointment. I thanked her and went on my way. There was a second lady who didn't seem to be in as chipper a mood, but I made sure to say goodbye and thank you to her, too, and she brightened up. Overall it was a pleasant, quick experience.

THE LOCATION IS IN THE BACK!!!…read more First, it was impossible to find. I drove back and forth in the front multiple times, parked twice and even got out and walked around. There is a sign in the front with their name, other businesses and address but it was not clear where this office was. As you face the building there are arrows that point left but the last thing in that parking lot is Torchy's Tacos. Nowhere did it say, "around back". You literally have to leave the parking lot of the address to get there. This is not intuitive or clear. At some point I even tried to call that location and was sent to voicemail.... this was my first sign. Second, I tried to fill out the forms online the night before. Because I needed portal access, I was not able to do that. I literally got access when I was about to leave for the appointment. I left early because the text instructed me to get there 15 min early if I needed to fill out forms. I got there early (but also wasted time lost in the parking lot). When I got there, I checked in with the QR code as instructed and took a seat. This is very impersonal and no one gave me forms to fill out. Why would I/should I get there 15 minutes early, as requested, if you aren't going to give me forms to fill out when I get there??? Third, my apt was at 10:40 and it was 30 minutes after that before anyone even spoke to me or gave me forms to fill out, that was after I initiated contact with the front desk. This was very poor customer service across the board. The waiting room is also very small with people packed in there. It seems like a huge space behind the scenes, so the size of the waiting room makes no sense. There were people waiting outside and the people in wheelchairs were struggling to find places that weren't in the way of others. My tech was great and the facility seems very nice and clean but that's the extent. You lost my business in the waiting room. Of note, while sitting there, I was watching one guy get rescheduled for a second time. They tried to tell him he didn't have an appointment that day but he had the paperwork to prove it. Another elderly woman being told she would have to be reschedule because a machine broke. The front desk person was telling someone that they don't do Sunday appointments only to be corrected by another staff member and told that they do. None of this is my business but it was clear that this location lacks leadership or direction. The amount of unhappy patients was crazy. This place needs MUCH better customer service, better management or at least staff that are better trained. There was just an air of chaos in the front.

After lab tests came back clean, they scheduled a CT scan for that same evening at Baptist M&S. My appointment was scheduled for 5:30, but I arrived about 40 minutes early just in case traffic was bad. The location is great. It's right next to my OB/GYN. Check-in was also a breeze. The staff was wonderful! They checked me in, took my information, notified me that my technician was ready for me already (WOW!), let me know I didn't have a coypay, and asked me to have a seat and fill out the remaining paperwork. In about five minutes, I was called to the back. My insurance didn't want to cover the cost of the fluid injection but they approved the scan without it. The technician was very nice, and she told me I didn't have to change into a gown, take off my shoes, or anything. The scan was completed in less time than I spent in the waiting room. She helped me up, said the clinic should have my results in a few hours, and sent me on my way. I couldn't have asked for a smoother experience. I felt very well taken care of from the moment I stepped in.

This review is about the first-floor hospital in processing department and not the fantastic…read moreservice we got on the second floor from the folks who drew blood and from the staff in the STRIC office where my wife got her X-ray. My wife was diagnosed with a very serious medical issue (think Pink...). Our doctor/surgeon told us to hustle over to TNI to get this blood and x-ray work done before they closed. TNI is about 3 blocks from our doctor's office. The signage tells you that TNI is on the 3rd floor so we drove around the parking garage until we got to the third floor which also, conveniently, had the skywalk. We parked and made our way via the skywalk to the main building. Directly in front of us was STRIC, which our doctor had told us is where we needed to go. Upon entering and handing over our paperwork, we were instructed to hurry down to the first floor to check in. We got on the elevator and headed down. The door to this department was locked. The staff saw us and came over. They informed us that they were closed and we would have to come back. I stated that the folks upstairs told us to hurry down. She said she'd make a call. She did make a "call" but nobody answered. I kept looking back at my wife who now had her face planted firmly in her hands as she became increasingly distraught. I explained the diagnosis and that the tests were needed today and go the same reply - come back tomorrow. For a bunch of people wearing polo shirts with slogans about "humanity" and "service," they only thing we were shown was the door. Upon our arrival the next morning, we waited for just a short time before being seen. The woman helping us had stood up to get a piece of paper from the printer when another staff member approached her and engaged her in conversation. With a quick look over her shoulder at us, she remarked, quietly, to the other woman, that "This is the couple we told you about - the ones from last night." Classy. Very classy... I understand that you are tired and want to go home. I also understand you work in the med center so getting out of that place during rush hour will be a pain in the neck. But you are a religiously-affiliated hospital and should act as such. The way my wife and I were treated for arriving 5 minutes after closing time, and under the circumstances of my wife's diagnosis, I would appeal to those nice slogans regarding humanity that you wear so proudly on your shirts. And I have an additional tip. When the customer, us, is describing having come from the parking garage to the STRIC suite on the "Third" floor, instead of getting all confused, you might try explaining that the 3rd floor of the parking garage connects via the skywalk to the 2nd floor of the medical building. That would clear up a lot of confusion! Better yet, how about putting up a sign somewhere along the skywalk route informing people of that?! In the end, the service we received on the SECOND floor was first rate. The male nurse that took my wife's blood, the Hispanic gentleman, thank you for your kindness. To the ladies working in STRIC, likewise, thank you for your kindness and efficiency. Also, the donuts and coffee are a nice touch.

We waits less than 10 minutes and they even helped me wheel Grandma in to the very large and cozy X-ray room. I say cozy because there was an additional person inside to help since I had to step out. I'm still here as I write this review. It is now 3:55 and we are DONE! What a pleasant experience. I will make sure to come to this STRIC location for our family's future needs.

(A month later)was 183 systolic because of the pain I was in. No one cared. For a fracture line in my femoral head, torn labrum, and nearly non existent cartilage in my hip And torn lumbar disc, And a cervical disc pressing on my spinal cord, among many more disc problems all along my spine, I was given 300mg Gabapentin and Tylenol 3 in Dec.(3 Mri [11/20] reports in hand) Even though my 1st visit was in November they still wanted to have me go to another follow up in Jan! That's also with my Neurosurgeon, sending them his report Saying I needed injections and proper pain medicine. When i'd call I was only allowed to talk to Donna. I told her i felt i was having a reaction to Gabapentin and she said to stop taking it. When i asked if i could come in sooner to get a new rx, she said no. And when i asked why i was scheduled for another follow up instead of infections she said "well, Why didn't you ask the PA about it in person?" There is so much more she said, that I don't have the space for. Finally, when I called to cancel that January follow up, the girl asked why I was canceling. I told her it was Donna's rudeness, she said, "oh ya, everyone complains about her!" I asked to speak to the office manager and after being out on hold for 10-15 min. Someone came online and refused to give me her title. I asked her three times. She finally said she was with scheduling or something like that. So I didn't waste my time.

This mammogram clinic is labeled as "boutique," which implies a more spa-like experience designed put you at ease and make a necessary evil less daunting. They had coffee available in the waiting room and the clinic was very nicely decorated, plus they provide you wipes if you have deodorant on and extra deodorant to replace what you took off before you leave. You can't wear deodorant for a mammogram because its ingredients, especially aluminum, can show up as white spots on the X-ray and be confused for tumors. If you are a woman and have had the pleasure of experiencing a mammogram before, you know it can be a stressful few minutes. However the team here were all incredibly polite and the nurse I had was very skilled and most importantly, very quick. I was done in under two minutes with the scans. They'll take a scan forward facing as well as diagonally with the machine and expect to have your parts handled by the nurse to ensure a good scan. Don't worry though because you'll be instructed on exactly what is happening and what to do by the nurse. A big plus for this location is that they had Saturday hours which helped me avoid using any of my accrued PTO. Treat yourself to a nice meal after for doing what you needed to take care of your health. I joke here but do feel incredibly lucky to have an insurance that covers this important preventative screening.
